To those calling me "bear man", I want to clarify...
I am not human, I am not a man. Yes, I am a male bear, but I am not human by any practical standards. I'm not writing this to complain, but to keep things straight. If you keep calling me bear man, I'm not going to freak out, but its not what I prefer to be called. For me, being called "man" is much like the way society genders men and women by calling them he, him, her, she, etc. Its a small injustice that can annoy at times. It reminds one of the overarching social structures that lead to oppression of non conformist individuals. Its always been about fitting in. As many of you know, I dont fit in. So in short, if you could just call me "bear", "burly", or even "critter", I would appreciate it.

6 отв.By the definition of "practical standards" you are exactly human and nothing else. You may not personally use practical standards to define yourself, which is exactly the problem. People choosing to tell others exactly how they wish to be defined, by their own, unique method of measurement. We can not all have our own unique laws of physics, biology, psychology, and behavior. That is not a society. There are, as there must be, definitive, immutable, practical standards by which all people are defined by. Just because you reject them does not mean they do not exist. A more accurate definition than "bear" would be: "in a state of mind by which you desire to be valued, wherein you ignore data in order to pursue validation for factually incorrect assertions in an attempt to cause others to agree with you, support you, follow your commands to address you by your chosen title, or otherwise indulge your obviously incorrect assertions, so that when others validate you by agreeing or obeying, you have proof of your influence over them which causes a feeling of significance and prevents your ego from being harmed by the self reflection that would otherwise cause feelings of worthlessness."
