I’ve played more solo gambit than you, and I can confidently say that this almost never happens.
I only get matched up against full-stacks when I’m with 1-2 friends. And even then it’s rare.
The system in place is fine. We don’t need more restrictions on the queue to make wait times even more unbearable.

Gambit uses skill-based matchmaking, or some derivative of it if I'm not mistaken. They raise the "internal skill-rating" (Cozmo's words) of pre-made fireteams to compensate for the advantage they get, so it's likely that what you're seeing is because when you team up the raised internal skill rating of your fireteam gets you matched more often against other pre-made fireteams that also have raised internal skill levels. Alone, however, you're likely an average player so you get matched up against other solo-que average players, and won't see many fireteams because even if they're average, their raised internal skill level will cause them to be matched up against either other fireteams or higher-skilled solo que players. I'm making a lot of assumptions, obviously, but this theory seems to best fit your observations. I also am not trying to attack or insult you, being good or bad or average at a video game means absolutely jack shit, I'm just trying to explain what you're seeing. Anyway, this makes it seem like the system's fine and is working as intended. However, as a higher-skilled solo player myself (not trying to flex, again it means nothing and it might not even be true, I'm just going off of my gambit elo), I often find that the system can be extremely frustrating both for me and players like me. This is because I find myself matched against pre-made fireteams a lot more than I suspect the average player does, and it's not a fair matchup at all. As a fireteam you can make heavy use of the bank drain mechanic by just coordinating your banks, and it just destroys any chance a matchmade team has of winning. I literally do not win any of my games against pre-made fireteams, and it kind of sucks because I love the game mode but hate getting stomped without even having a fighting chance.

But my Gambit ELO is significantly higher than yours? By like a long shot too.
-
It depends how well you do in gambit. I got matched to plenty of 4 stacks.
-
My ELO is also higher than yours. Not sure why this is. Maybe it’s because I’m on PC? Console populations must be inherently lower or something.
-
The other way around pc has lower pop. Elo doesnt mean shit. We dont know how Bungo mm wages skill.
-
Not sure where you’re getting this info from. But there’s a reason Network Manipulators have Anchors and such. ELO means a lot in matchmaking.
-
Elo is an external site calculation. We dont know how bungie measures skill.
-
Let me reiterate: Glory, Infamy, etc. Resets. All of those are factors in matchmaking.
-
Thats your speculation. You dont know what factors in matchmaking.
-
Not speculation. You know how people get their Mountaintop/Recluse illegitimately, right? Network Manipulation? Glory Range? Anchors? You should really look into it.
-
Alrdy said glory is the only parameter that we know for a fact matters in mm and only in comp. well ok, the other one we know is connection in qp.
-
Well we know glory matters for comp but thats all we realy know
-
Elo is not a stat that is provided by bungos api
