I have this as a question for reasons I'll state as a second, because despite how much I, along with most others hate the modifier, I'm still not sure if it should be removed. I'd like some insight.
Blackout on it's own is very unforgiving, especially considering how dense and simple minded the AI is. If you get too close, the AI seems to be designed to just run as you, no matter how fat away you go, until they go through their melee strike animation or get stunned. No matter what else is going on. On top of that, in the menagerie in particular, CQB portions of the activity such as Crystals or Mockery are near impossible to achieve, especially during 3 man heroic (you can imagine what sparked the desire to make this post).
That's just scratching the surface as to why it's an objectively annoying modifier that makes folks literally wait until modifiers change before they enter an activity.
HOWEVER.
Here's the thing. Blackout changes the way you play. When you word it that way...is that a bad thing? I mean, for a while in the beginning of D2 we were all asking for a better challenge. Well, blackout is certainly challenging, and basically asks you to change things up to succeed. Which I'd say, objectively, is a good thing.
SO THE QUESTION IS
Is blackout too hard to build around? Or is there a strategy to use that will work against it? Because I could imagine being elated after finding out a way to beat the modifier.
Thoughts?
