I haven't been able to advance through Heroic Menagerie so I don't know what the drawback of not having a full fireteam would be. I know I could go on LFG but this game mode seems pretty straight forward.
-
Because it requires a level of coordination (in order to complete) that Normal mode doesn't. 1. If there is a team wipe....you fail, and have to start the entire run over. 2. The enemies scale upto power level 770. So there has to be a lot of team shooting, buff stacking, and super-chaining in order to succeed. I ran it for the first time last night with a group that I used to raid with in D1, who have come back to the game. One of the guys actually ran Ward of Dawn during the final boss fight....and I have to say we simply wouldn't have cleared it without it. But the odds of some random Titan matchmaking in and having the presence of mind to do that? Slim-to-none.

To force people to make teams. Only reason. Its easy mode.
-
Genuinely I think t3 reckoning is a good example of the issue. With matchmaking people try to go in through matchmaking and fail or struggle too much then decide it’s not for them and abandon the activity. With lfg it’s much more accomplishable and less of a struggle and doesn’t fracture the players between matchmaking and lfg
-
The question is will there be matchmaking when we are 100 power levels above the requirements.

Изменено (olly5656): 7/17/2019 9:18:14 AMBecause there’s bad players who would hamper your run. Like most of the people in the comments saying it wouldn’t work because it requires communication or a strong team (it doesn’t). They’re just bad.
-
Really need coordination and communication with your team in heroic, not forgetting extinguish is active which automatically send your team back into orbit, given how bad their matchmaking system is on other events, why you'd want it in this is stupid.
-
Lfg for it and play it. You will understand
-
Because it was not designed to have matchmaking. Only normal Menagerie has matchmaking. If you want to run heroic, then get a fireteam together or LFG. That's pretty much it in a nutshell. My clan did heroic once just to say we did it, then never did it again. It wasn't any more rewarding than normal and took a half hour to fight the final boss bullet sponge. Not worth the time.
-
Why exactly is Heroic Menagerie not matchmaking?
Because it wouldn't work.
-
Its just so they can send your team to orbit when you wipe. Thats really it.
-
Because all the fan boys like a little something to make themselves feel special
-
Bungie thinks we're all garbage. they think their game is SO hard that a random group couldn't finish an activity.
-
One word... Bungie... that’s why. Took something that was new and fun and ruined it with No Matchmaking and nerfing the chest. After the nerf I have no interest in the Menagerie, it’s lost it’s appeal and I’m sure I’m not the only one that feels this way. I just don’t get it anymore with this company, give us something and then nerf it, it’s a pattern and exactly why I will not pre-order, I will wait a few weeks, give them time to nerf the shite out of it.
-
I’m 100% on board with optional matchmaking, but it wouldn’t be used until next season if/when power levels go up. The boss fights are brutal, and if you even have 1 “little Susie Spectral Blades” on your team, you will lose in an uncoordinated, spectacular fashion. If you queue up with 5 other players who know exactly what to do and are all running well of radiance or tether... maybe you have a chance. So yeah... next season it will be really confusing why this mode doesn’t have optional mm.
-
Even in a full, coordinated fireteam, the encounters, especially the boss, can be a challenge. This week's boss would be impossible without a coordinated team, last week would be even worse.
-
Heroic menagerie kicks your ass with a coordinated team. Plus, it's extinguish.
-
Изменено (Raven): 7/15/2019 10:43:50 AMStraightforward, but when it is 770 rec power it is no joke. My raid fireteam did it and because of the difficult power level coordination actually becomes a big thing rather than in normal menagerie where you can go through quite easily with little team play. You have to co-ordinate damage supers and abilities and it actually takes a long time. Took us like 30 mins or so. Now when we get to 800 power it might be ok but as it is I would pull my eyes out if I did it with blueberries. (It is harder than CoS at the moment). I guarantee that if there was matchmaking the forums would be nothing but complaining about how hard it is. You thought reckoning is bad, that's nothing....
-
Not actual reason. Its already been beat by 2 and 3 ppl, teams of no mic randos... so all that talk about how MM wouldn't work went right out the window. Worst part is now.. no one is running it. So Bungie made a REALLY bad design choice. They won't go back on it now because of this.
-
It goes to 770 and the modifiers make it difficult to survive
-
Because more people would enjoy it. Can't be having too much moral.
-
Bungie: because...... reasons. Seriously, that’s all you’ll get in response. Actually, you won’t get any response. They’ll just ignore it.

Изменено (GallowsPole): 7/14/2019 12:36:19 PMBecause Bungie wanted to please the streamers crying for triumphs they can claim for their own outside from us casual peasants. There’s a triumph to do heroic with 3 or less people. Can’t do that with matchmaking the way it is. Other than that, there’s zero reason not to have optional matchmaking.
