Just saying, compared to Crucible and Gambit Pinnacle Weapons, Vanguard Pinnacles have been lacklustre.
Loaded Question has just recently gotten good with the buffs to Fusions Rifles. Wendigo is great but there are better options such as the Swarm of the Raven from IB.
And Oxygen... Yeah we don’t talk about that.
Then you look over at the other Pinnacle Weapons. Recluse, don’t need to say anything about it. We all know how amazing it is. Mountain Top. Its a special weapon in the Primary Slot and does more damage than some Heavies. Breakneck can be on the fence to certain people but still one of, if not the best Auto Rifle in the game.
If things continue on the trend that they’re on... The next Vanguard Pinnacle will be a Sword with a new Guard or a heavy attack that takes up 5 ammo.

Pve are the easiest to get, so it's understandable that they aren't better than recluse, mountaintop or any other crucible pinnacle. However, these guns are intended to be in crucible. Look at Not forgotten and Luna's howl, they aren't the best option for PvE, but they are a good option for PvP. All of the weapons are good for some people and horrible for others. It really depends on your playstyle and what you're best with. I absolutely hate the concept for Hush, but I see other people really excited for it. It's not a bow for me, but that doesn't mean it's a bad weapon. The same goes for any other weapon in the game. Look at the gun Rose as an example. The guardian who used it made the gun great, but you can see it's not this over powered gun you hear about in lore. A gun is only as powerful as the guardian using it allows it to be. Sometimes it just comes down to skill and a lot of people don't want to hear that. Another thing to take into consideration is that most of the PvE weapons are supposed to be used for PvE activities and the PvP weapons are supposed to be used for slaughtering other guardians. However, there are some weapons that work for both situations such as Recluse. I'm personally just happy that I get to have new weapons to add to my collection.

Swarm of the Raven is best for boss damage when a Tractor Cannon is applied. Anywhere else it's just a standard spike grenade launcher. Wendigo has better overall utility with the blinding grenades and the base damage with explosive light.
-
Dude. I got a 29 kill game with Oxygen. What do you mean broda
-
Loaded question was always good in gambit and Wendigo is the only possibility to heal with Better Already when your super is full. Only Oxygen is bad. You should rather complain about Revokers clunkiness, Breakneck don't having a reload perk or 21% Delirium's lack of Range. It's not a Vanguard problem, some weapons just turn out to be bad. Also Vanguard is the easiest part of the game, therefore should give the least valuable rewards.
-
imo oxygen is really good in pvp. It’s great for snipers.
-
I'm the only one that likes Oxygen... :(
does me wonders but that's just me
The best PvE pinnacle weapon, bar none is 21%Delirium Closely followed by the lacklustre Breakneck & Malfeasance (one heck of a grind, not really worth it) ... The Loaded Question only just started feeling worthy after the recent fusion buff I can't comment on Wendigo or Hush (currently acquiring the former, will never ever try for the latter)

There's a theme here (sort of) *Vanguard* Loaded Question: Things explode when they die. Oxygen: Things explode when they die. Windego: shoots things that explode. *Crucible* Redrix: killing stuff makes you kill stuff faster Luna/NF: shooting crits makes things die faster. Mountain Top: Basically a rocket launcher with more ammo. Recluse: killing things makes you kill things faster. Revoker: better version of Mulligan. *Gambit* Breakneck: killing things makes you kill things faster 21% Delirium: Killing things makes you kill things faster. Hush: literally any bow with Archers Tempo is better than this thing. TL:DR Pinnacle weapons are only good if killing things makes things die faster. Bungie, stop trying to make Firefly work. Not even SUNSHOT could make Firefly work. Chromatic fire is garbage.

Pinnacles are lacking in what respect? Comp? Quickplay? Gambit? Raids & hoard events? Because I can tell you in two of those three scenarios I clean up quite well with Oxygen in my hands. In advanced, not claiming to be some gun god or even trying to be snark—I'm genuinely confused as to your context.
-
You mean gambit. Breakneck is trash Bows are trash Delirium is okay but is absolutely buried by hammerhead
-
Loaded Question is passable. Good I might say even.
-
Almost at 17,000 aliens deleted with my loaded question...seems fine to me.
-
I think the issues is in the availablilty of outliers like Mountain top and recluse to the average non pvp player. its just much easier to achieve gambit and vangaurd pinnacle weapons overall. Plus why are pvp pinnacles so strong in pve. Lunas, nf and reddrix were really only powerful in pvp. As recluse is the best overall primary weapon and mountain top is broke in pve.
-
I grinded for the Oxygen SR3. Left VERY disappointed.
-
I feel like the comments in this post are skewed. The message is not that the vanguard weapons are all bad. It is that comparing Vanguard to the others, they don't compare.
-
I don't see how people think loaded question is good.
-
Crucible pinnacle weapons - GODLY Hush - garbage Breackneck- useless unless you REALLY like auto rifles 21% Delirium- pretty dang good, not bad Oxygen SR3 - scouts need buff big time Loaded question - only good in situational because not every shot does explosion thingy Wendigo - perhaps the best out of all vanguard pinnacles, but its garbage compared to a sotr + mountaintop + tractor
-
Loaded question and wendigo are fine. Oxygen sucks because all scouts are awful. I break down every scout I get. Even the curated scouts from scourge and crown are useless.
-
Изменено (MNN8TV): 7/15/2019 6:53:06 PMLoaded question has always been amazing. Wendigo is pretty darn good and very unique. Oxygen is in a poor archetype and it’s a primary so it seems lackluster despite having a good unique perk.
-
Oxygen is a very good weapon, for a scout. If Bungie gives scouts the buff they need, it'll be a PvE powerhouse.
-
Nah they're fine.
-
I could be wrong about this because I just got back into D2 and am trying to learn the current meta, but I’m pretty sure Wendigo has the second highest DPS of any heavy, only behind Prospector.
-
I hope the next Vanguard Pinnacle weapon is straight up an Exotic.
-
I would agree up until this season. Loaded Question is great and the best PvE fusion by far. Wendigo is arguably the best heavy, I know Swarm can out DPS it but it’s DPS is still ridiculous and the blinding grenades are my favourite part of the weapon, you can keep teammates alive in the CoS raid by blinding enemies you can’t even damage usually. Oxygen is a bit underwhelming but it’s the best legendary scout for PvE and it’s the fact that scouts aren’t great in PvE not that the weapon is bad. I agree that Breakneck and Delirium are good but I don’t think they’re way better then the Vanguard ones and are of similar power. Hush is tricky to use but so fun when you get it going. Mountaintop and Recluse are great in PvE and I do think they’ll see a nerf to PvE, most likely the damage multiplier on the Master of Arms perk and I think spike grenades in general will have one coming. I’m not sure where pinnacle weapons are meant to fall on the power scale. Somewhere between standard legendaries and exotics I imagine and like exotics, they lean into a certain play style. This means some legendaries with particular rolls will over power them but won’t be able to play to the style the pinnacle was designed for. As there is a guaranteed and determined path to these weapons then I don’t mind they aren’t always right at the top of the Meta as they are easily available, I just like that they are unique and always good at the absolute minimum. Their introduction into the game as well as exotic catalysts is one of my favourite things to come in D2.

You're kidding right? Loaded question - has always been great since it came out. It's only recently it's come into the fore but it was always that good. People just preferred shotguns but now they're kinda meh (compared to where they used to be), they realise what a great weapon has been in front of them for some time. Wendigo - Is the highest dmg output weapon in the game when proc'd, so is totally a pinnacle weapon. Oxygen - is actually a lot better than poeple give it credit for. The issue is more with the scout rifle class in general, however the weapon is perfectly usable right now and performs well. Want to two tap an entire group of adds - sorted. Sure, you may not like that design but that's subjective, it still performs to a standard higher than normal legendary weapons which is the point of these weapons. Comparing these to recluse and mountain top is redundant because anyone with any sense will admit they are both OP currently and will no doubt be getting nerfed sooner or later. You're also comparing the vanguard pinnalce weapons to pvp pinnacle weapons but forgetting the other pvp ones.. Luna - not really that great since the nerf. Many legendary guns out perform it. Redrix - so situational that it's always been a massive under performer and barely ever used.
-
Wendigo is better than swarm in every senario except high damage single targets such as raid bosses, heroic menagerie or things like reckoning. Even then being able to increase the overall damage your heavy can output by firing the 6 explosive light and charging it again is fantastic as swarm of the raven runs out of ammo so quickly.
