i played the other day. i just came back for warmind, which is where i stopped having skipped CoO. i was coming from D1 really.
warmind is actually fun, but i quit at level 26 because i wasnt getting enough legendary gear for shards.
now i come back and there are enhancement cores added.
uuhhhh. wtf?
so, fine. I read that I should do gunsmith stuff. k.
daily stuff is fine. weekly stuff is annoying. i don’t mind crucible. its a great way to increase light level fast, especially between stories when you dont meet the requirement.
strikes? i mean, must i? gambit? sigh. I hate the weeklies already.
so, im looking at my cores. start with 3. end up with 10 after bounties. what am i supposed to do? i dont have orpheus rigs yet, so whatever i do i only get my super twice, if im solo. i really want to masterwork a weapon, i could do it in a day or two with rng, but ive also jumped level 31. i should upgrade since im 10+ higher in power.
i probably wont do everything bc some of the highest stuff are blues, and thats just too expensive. even still, i wont be able to masterwork. not for a long time, so if i want orbs,i have to depend on one of the few exotics, use a raid weapon I don’t want to or hope for rng.
this sucks.
the whole point of working through this is to finally be able to wear legendary gear and an exotic. instead, im wearing a bunch of blue crap most of the time since I cannot level any legendary with them...and an under-levelled exotic.
this sucks!

You can load up into nightfall with your favourite energy/heavy weapon and farm kills easily early on, very few NF put you into rather difficult situations. You don't have to complete entire strike. Moreover, do that while completing Vuvuzela's bounties and you kill multiple birds with one stone. Gambit will require a bit aggressiveness, but playing through Classic I managed to make almost a full bar by 1 match and completed it before we banked 25 in second match. If I was a bit faster, I'll probably could make all in a one go, but it was first Classic I played since Prime was released and first Gambit since late April. I'm not saying existing system is perfect - I too have friends who plan to jump in, but at least it is far better than Spider's bounties for roaming prisoners.

Sooo, what you're saying is that it sucks?
-
Why would you waste cores on infusing blues? Maybe look into proper ways to play the game. Before complaining?
-
im not infusing anything. can you not read? do you have a voice to text app? is that how you type?
-
The what's the problem?
-
apparently that you cant read, slingblade

Изменено (xbroggiex): 6/22/2019 9:12:20 PMReally since you're not even level 50 yet I assume you haven't really completed most of the story yet so it really doesn't matter what you use till you hit level 50 and are a bit over power 500. Even then there is a short quest which will bump you straight up to 690 if you are level 50.

Изменено (SpectreMT): 6/23/2019 12:41:27 AMThe fact that such a 'catch-up' mechanic exists just shows how moronic the progression system is in this game. If the normal progression was not so restrictive an idiotic "progression handout" would not be necessary. Having one proves the point of removing cores from infusion and leaving them for masterworking.

Bungie has been doing a catch up mechanic since D1 so I doubt they will probably change their current system. They also just want people to jump into the new stuff immediately and try it out. If they don't have a way of players being able to catch up people complain if they do then here we are. People were complaining about not being able to play the new content because of a power gap so Bungie introduced the power surge stuff, I think that Bungie should be trying to find ways to extend the endgame without increasing the power cap which it seems like they are doing in Shadowkeep with the seasonal artifact. We will probably have to wait for a D3 or really big dlc for the current progression system to change sadly.

By the time you finish the story you will be close to 500. Then start doing the post story quests until you get calus' invitation. Doing his quests gives you 690 gear to boost you up. That's when you infuse your favorites

The power surge shows off what a stupid system this is in the first place.
