Getting pretty tired of getting instakilled by physics like im fine with getting thrown away by a boss stomp or a taken boop but man why does the slightest shove into a wall kill me?
I was playing menagerie(the riposte) last night and i was at the edge of an ogre slam and it threw me into a wall at what seemed like the pace of a brisk walk and i died from it.. like seriously? My guardian legitimately can run faster than the speed i hit the wall yet i died.
It really reminds me of drowning in a teaspoon of water back in halo, having this super powerful person who has defeated all these powerful and evil entities defeated by something that couldnt kill a kitten.
Edit: so its evident that i may have not worded this properly to convey my point well, im not asking for realistic physics im just asking for the threshold at which you are killed by physics be increased.
If i get tossed at a wall like a rag doll im fine with getting killed but when i hit a wall at speeds that my guardian can exceed through their own abillity yet i still die is what i have a problem with.

When Bumgie wants you dead, they kill you. Knights get close and you die before they hit you. Small drops kill you just to make the activity harder and longer. Witches fire prevents you from moving forward and back at the same time. Same with ogres. Bungle cares not about physics.

Yeah the physics have been really really bad since d1. One time I blinked through a doorway and was launched up to the sky box in an instant and killed

In the current 'ascendant challenge' (Bay Drowned Wishes) ...I've died so many times slowing my fall rate to 1ft height & landing on the dead centre of platforms (regardless of high resilience, recovery, stompees etc) That I've just had enough of it (no Truth quest for me this week) In the Reckoning I was stomped so far, I flew past the D1 Moon! (It's haunted! 👻)

Изменено (PROCK7): 6/18/2019 3:17:49 PMMy favorite is doing a NF and I do a medium height jump forward going down a slight incline then die. I look around while waiting for revive timer and see a tiny rock that is right below my ghost. I think “well there’s the thing that got me.”

Ahh, the infamous Bungie physics. Immortal superpowered warrior of the light stubs toe = instant death is the formula
-
Just touch the wall *Guardian down*
-
This has been an issue that people have asked about since vanilla D1. I remember my first cabal mission getting shield slammed by a phalanx and dying instantly as I slammed into a wall.
-
A recover action would be nice. Like if you're flying towards a wall or something, you can hit the jump button and kinda brace yourself.
-
How about how stupid ogres are? Taken ogres spawn their eye blasts and throw you miles, and normal ogres can melt your health in like 2 seconds even if void since isn't active.
-
I love when you stub your toe and die at more than half hp. Thats always fun
-
Yeah I was in a 1v1 with this hunter. He threw a swarm grenade and I sniped him. Im running away from the swarm grenades and then boom killed by architects
-
Gravel/sharp rocks man...oof. That shits more dangerous than Crota running after you.
-
I was in Gambit and jumped down from a ledge to the area where you deposit your motes. I died from gentle landing which made me lose 15 motes.
-
i'm just tired of jumping anywhere, and just barely clipping a wall or ledge and being propelled 10 feet in the exact opposite direction at a greater speed that what I ran into it with, then falling to my death. or when jumping and a teammate just happens to jump in the direction i am coming from and we bump and I am thwarted in the opposite direction with piss poor control lol

What physics?
-
Boss stomps/Phanlanx bash are soo OP that I didn’t need to bring out my ghost to go to orbit.
-
The Architects and Misadventure are our biggest threats.
-
We kill huge bosses, but I can not seem to step over a 1 Inch rock sometimes.... 🤔
-
My favourite is the rotating rocks in the agonarch abyss ascendant challenge (last week), if you land while the rock is at the wrong angle you will either die or lose almost all your health even if you break your fall
-
Also, I hate how I have to do a full on leap to step over a pebble.
-
I got killed by the chest at the end of a strike when it spawned and blasted me into a wall with the force of a NASA takeoff.
-
No it's a video game.
-
You won't lose in the menagerie anyway... Easy activity

The physics in this Game are..let's call them entertaining. One of Destiny's unique characteristics that no one has asked for lol. Sometimes I jump down from a ridiculous low height - and die. Boss stomping and beeing killed after slightly hitting the wall is also amazing. I also love how a Phalanx is able to use a shield bash on me although I stand neither in close nor middle range to him. Magic? I only know they killed me more than once where it was physically impossible. And let's not forget the rubber physics. Best to be noticed in Wisper and Outbreak Perfected quests. You jump and jump and then finally land and...boom you are dead because you didn't just land but bumped back like you are made completely out of rubber.

So much random physics bull crap in this game. I hate the way I bounce off things while jumping. Like I feel like Guardians are made of some kind of fragile super bouncy glass or something. I can Jump straight up near a Wall and be throw away from the wall at mach speeds land from the jump and die by stubbing my toe on the same platform I jumped up from in the first place. it's not even consistent. it would be one thing if throws and falls and bounces felt consistent, but they don't. It feels random.

If you collide with the wall it stops you. If you collide with the wall a bit faster then the game code runs then it will bounce you back out. If you collide with the wall a fraction faster then it will try to bounce you back in but your character is on the opposite side of the wall already and physics collision will bounce you again. Then realise you're out of bounds and attempt to bounce you back in. This is your life now. Stuck bouncing in a wall. If you're moving faster then that it may not even have time to realise the wall even existed in the first place. If there isn't a surface for you to stand on you fall and die. If there is then you've successfully wall glitched. You live in the space between. If you can't find another wall glitch to get back into the map you're going to be here a while. The architect's can't allow such shenanigans.
