It is awesome. I find it really hard to believe that Bungie does not provide tools such as this tool alongside content releases. It's Good to know the Bungie community is alive and willing to create awesome tools for their fellow guardians.

But... the rune secrets were for us to discover

Tools in general

Kinda defeats the purpose when Bungie releases all that info, don't you think?
I find it really hard to believe that Bungie does not provide tools such as this tool alongside content releases.
Bud, they've given the community access to the API and other features that most other DEV's would never grant access to. They then let us use it for item management, trophy tracking etc and they didn't send any cease and desists and considering these pages have "donation" pages that's super cool. Hell man, Disney demonetizes star wars related stuff because fan made content on youtube is getting more vies than "official" material. There are always 3rd party tools, look at how many add ons people have devved for WoW that Blizzard didn't make. I'm not saying they're a perfect company by any longshot, but they do encourage positive community engagement, and as such they a) learn from 3rd party devs b) they can put their instaff resources towards other things. Also, the people behind things like DIM, Ishtar commander, hell even "public event finder" when it was a thing are all either passion projects that people enjoy or can be added to their professional portfolios.

Thank you @dmg04, it means a lot !

Изменено (Dabosaurous): 6/13/2019 11:26:48 PMDoes bungie hire non dev experienced individuals and/or out of Pennsylvania?

You ever applied? It’s a why I want to work for Bungie paragraph. No interviews or nothing. I once applied and this was the process. I wanted to help develop in a right direction. Fix subtle issues among other things. Increase pace of wishlist progress. Give people a reason to play. Clearly that wasn’t good enough.
-
How about a community spotlight for this guy? It’s actually a true contribution.
-
Dmg, if possible, please pin this. Wouldn’t want it to get buried, this is very useful for us. Thank you ;)
-
Just add it into favourites in your internet browser.
-
I already did. Speaking for the people who have yet to see this and the post will end up getting buried. That’s it
-
i know what you mean, i already hottabbed it on chrome and and added it to the forum chat for my clan and its discord. If you have twitter, maybe tweet out to the youtubers to get it some traction.
-
Dmg can you tell bungie to allow us to remove runes just one time tho i thought i can swap them out but couldn't.
-
You can. You replace the rune with another and get the old one back
-
Oh cool thanks for the info

Изменено (Talia Sendua): 6/13/2019 7:21:41 PMYou should pin this site on your Bungie.net mainpage
-
Is there any way someone can pin this to the top? It's to valuable to get lost in the shuffle.
-
These guys put more effort into the game than the people making it . Interesting
-
Yeah, some guy making a rudimentary, simple website is “putting in more work” than designing a massive online multiplayer game. Get a grip dude. No hate to the website or OP. A truly awesome contribution.

With the difference that people here do it in their free time, have no deadlines to meet, and can take all the time of the world.

They took 3 days. I mean, granted this is much simpler than what Bungie are doing in the lab, the argument that there was no deadline works against you here. -
Изменено (GalaxySpider): 6/13/2019 10:19:47 PMSo what? Shall they make tons of web preview things for any given item/quest/roll/collectible? Why are people constantly try to shit on the devs? 3 days are 3 days still and you basically achieved nothing with it. That is almost a week. This is not how business work in the gaming industry. So no, my argument still holds.

I'm saying that this was good work for 3 days. . Just because they didnt have a deadline doesnt mean they didnt do it in a timely manner.
