Nerfing is needed, did you not read the TWAB? The dev teams were being forced to design stuff in specifc ways because these weapons and armour were too good, it'll free their design choices. Imagine the Abyss from crota in our current state of power.

That’s true but, why are we Nerfing Good exotics when we got Exotics that are not even worth an Exotic slot, I can suck it up and accept these Nerfs but the others need a buff to make them viable and useful
-
Nerfing for weapons can be argued for. Nerfing for armor. The exotic armor nerfs will not promote the use of other exotic armor. Don’t swallow that bullshit pill they gave you. Everybody is still going to use the same armor pieces that are being nerfed in pve, in pve. That’s because the rest of them are either designed specifically for pvp, or are just downright useless. I’m not going to go into a raid as a nightstalker choosing jester gemini over Orpheus after the nerf. I’m not going to into a raid using feedback fences over ursa, actually I’m not going into a raid as a sentinel at all. I’m not using That stupid wing exotic over transference steps over Phoenix protocol. After nerf, they’ll still be the most useful exotic, only not as useful. It’s a straight up, direct nerf, not done to promote the use of other exotics as they said, just to excuse themselves of the responsibility of making challenging content. Power creep in weapons is real concern and the weapon nerfs don’t bother me. I think it reeks of ineptitude, but whatever. But the armor nerfs are a -blam!-ing joke
-
They aren't haven't shown us the full patch notes, and considering they showed us the big hitter nerfs, I assume the buffs are coming with the patch notes. Maybe then the armour will be usable, I do agree that a lot of the shit armour needs a lot of love.
-
You’re right, remains to be seen what they do with buffs. Though logic would dictate that if they were any real impactful buffs they would’ve mentioned some in this weeks TWaB to counteract the bad blood that they surely knew was coming in answer to the information they shared.
-
I feel like it was a sort of "bad news first situation," maybe they wanted to rip the bandade off before getting to healing.
-
I hope so. But I’m not optimistic. To me it seems like the vast majority of exotic armor in game were designed for pvp utility. From what I can see, to make other exotic armors be a reasonable other option for pve for what they’ve nerfed would require not just buffs, but complete reworking of other armor pieces and the introduction of new exotic perks on existing armor pieces. I just can’t see that happening.
-
Bungie limits themselves by providing the same perfect situations for the exotics. It's the other way around. They deliberately build things for them because it's easier and takes work to think of something different. The funny part is how they use it to justify nerfs despite it being their fault. Imagine the abyss with Don't touch me's Literally cheeses the entire thing. Oh wait THAT HAPPENED. What difference is a swarm of tethers?
-
A swarm of tethers would be significantly easier and stronger than some occasional invis. You could mess up with don't touch me invis, not really possible to mess up infinite supers.
-
Occasional? No, it has no cooldown. isolating one hit from thrall is easy If both make things easy as hell then neither holds much of a candle over the other, with the condition of a mob of melee enemies. If you wanted to work actively against infinite tethers, provide less targets that are beefy, don't label them majors or ultras, and make them hurt good. Don't touch me instantly takes the lead when you can't do anything with tethers.
-
Ok so what about the other 5 members of your fireteam if they arent wearing dont touch me's? Because orpheus rigs fuels all of their supers whilst providing amazing cc, dont touch me just funnels those thrall to your the others in your fireteam.
-
You don't need a bunch of supers to deal with thrall. Sure you'd be juicing them up, but for what? If running through the whole thing invisible is just as viable as that, then what difference does it make that people get to blow everything up?
-
Ok re-read what i said, the invis benefits 1 person so if you ran 6 hunters sure just as good but how often did you run crota with only hunters? If the hunters in the group did that then the others would get hosed by the thralls where as orpheus hoses the thrall helping all 6 people.
-
Collective shooting of the thrall helps all six people, any gun with firefly wipes them out. It's like comparing apples and oranges If one guy jogging through invisible is as effective as a whole party cleaning house, then what does it matter in terms of "balance". It's the encounter itself that enables this. That's where the problem lies.
-
So they should make encounters only consist of 1 big enemy so the super regens cant kick in is that what youre saying? Also i think youre missing the point that the dont touch me's would only benefit 1 person, orpheus rigs benefits an entire team including the user. If 1 person wears dont touch me then that means the rest of the team suffer because theyre effectively missing a person which means less dps and 1 less person to draw aggro so the damage they take would potentially increase. If you ran the thrallway with the entirety of d1&2 exotics at your disposal are you really telling me you would choose dont touch me over orpheus rigs?
-
They program the enemies, they can do various things A super tanky redbar, several of them even, maybe an unkillable swarm that can be staggered. D2 has it's limits sure, but this is a logical issue we're ultimately having with raid and other high-end stuff design. If you're gonna build something with the intent that X item gets used, then what reason can you have to nerf it because of that, you made it that way to begin with, do something different then. If that's all that can be thought of, then that's a bigger problem. The thrall run is really just that, thrall. What DPS are we losing here? They die so quickly, yet feed Orpheus by being normal tier enemies. Sure, tethers help the team, but what it's helping with is what ultimately makes it moot. You don't need tethers at all in there to get by down there, let alone a super. You choosing to make the easy thing even easier with one of the most overkill options for the occasion doesn't change the outcome.
-
Did you ever run thrallway under level? Where you get about 3-4 hits and youre dead? Youre telling me that infinite supers wouldnt be a godsend there? Anyway im over talking at you, enjoy the nerfs kid 🤙
-
oh no, the "kid" label, whatever will I do.
-
Thats bs, translated it means they're struggling to make encounters with existing assets. D2 new content is basically made with a level editor from existing assets and mechanics, they don't have the staff or budget for anything else.
-
Try reckoning tier 2 solo que with super regen exotics and then without them its actually night and day how massive the difference is, ones the easiest walk in the park ever and the other feels like wading through a swamp. Is it fair to the players who dont want to run those exotics or cant obtain them to have to play encounters that are balanced around op exotics? People tend to hate being forced to do anything in this game yet somehow theyre fine with being forced into using those exotics. I love using dawn blade but trying to go over that bridge with 0 coms and no well or tether is a pain in the ass so i take one for the team and chuck on my pheonix protocol and swap to attunement of grace nearly everytime, im so bored of the do nothing but really helpful super but because id like to win i equip it.
-
You're trying to solo que end game content designed round the max output of a fireteam running optimum gear, communication and noticed its considerably harder if you don't adhere to that design? Seriously? Everything is geared to the season its released in, Bungie are compulsive micro managers and meta- fundamentalists. Bungie don't do sandbox games, you play thier way or you struggle, unless you're god tier. Don't get me wrong I love using whatever seems fun, meta or not, sad fact is most of D2 is weak, dull and fun free. As an arcade shooter? its good, as an mmo/rpg/looter? Its bad mobile game level crap.
-
Which is why theyre bringing down those exotics so the solo q players dont get hosed if they dont or cant use meta comps, its a matchmade activity after all.
-
I'm sorry, but that logic just doesn't work. Nerfing Orpheus so hunters can use other things in Reckoning without having a hard time? That would require a re-work to Reckoning itself, which will never happen, seeing how Black Armory stuff has been treated this season. Charges still bounce off the forge's side things Super annoyingly long Forge progress is still character based.
-
Ok future seer what else is bungie going to do and not going to do?
-
They didn't say they would do anything other than nerf things. Nothing about Reckoning. Buffs proposed but shot down in fear of Power Creep.
