I figure I should at least add my voice to the mix as I would like to see the enhancement cores done away with as well. I'm usually running around 40-60 light levels lower than I actually am, because I don't want to infuse anything. Wear that scatter horn helmet or rock my sweet looking forged mechanist helm? It's bad enough my ghost is the main protagonist voice of the game and I'm just his side kick, at least let me look like the bad ass hero I want to be. I'll freely admit that I hate farming and would rather spend my time working towards goals. Getting better at crucible, helping friends get the whisper, improving in a raid, learning a new raid. I love experimenting with crazy gear builds I've seen on you tube. Let me play around with that new weapon I just got that's not meta but so fun, and most importantly prioritize allowing me to meet new fun people I can enjoy playing this game with. I would love to do that at the light level I'm currently at, but for my play style I simply run out of cores. I fundamentally disagree that enhancement cores make my infusion choices more meaningful, they just make me need to visit spider more often. They necessitate me to grind more on things I don't want to spend my time on and ultimately I've been playing less because I'm not enjoying where the game decides my play time is to be spent. Let me decide where I enjoy spending my time. This is not incentivizing me to play more, or grind more. For my personal play style/ enjoyment, it is sucking the fun out of playing. I keep coming back for stuff like the blind well, EP, the reckoning, thorn quest, last word quest, gambit, crucible, and all these I play with friends. You know how many of my friends want to spend time going to spider and grinding for enhancement cores? 0, zilch, nadda, none! I know it will be the same with the new system you're about to implement. It's not fun. I respectfully suggest abandoning systems that are implemented to limit/narrow player choice, like enhancement cores, and spend more time on what activities or grinds are fun to do with others. How can we make it easier, in game please, to invite others to play/ chat/ message without going through 4-5 different menus. These games are always better when played with friends. Please focus your efforts on expanding choice, build variety, player customization and let me play that power fantasy hero game. I want to feel bad ass in the way I look, the choices I can make and the weapons I wield. I enjoy D2 and am waiting for the day when I can just jump in and have fun with the grinds/ play approach I want to do without feeling overly punished for doing so.
