I'm a huge Marty fan, so I was pretty upset/disappointed when I heard he'd no longer be working on Destiny's soundtracks (especially when I saw how Halo's music changed from Reach to 4).
Having listened to a large portion of Destiny 2's soundtrack in-game and also most of it outside of the game, I have to say that I'm blown away by how good this stuff is. Incredible callbacks to D1 themes (Warmind), haunting ambient pieces that feel straight out of Rivendell (a lot of the Dreaming City stuff, especially Keep of Voices), the epic strings from the Shuro Chi fight (Shell of What Was), etc. etc. I'm blown away.
Shout out to Salvatori, Dirksen and the rest; I won't underestimate them again.

My favorite is still The Rose but so many tracks are just amazing now in Destiny 2 especially Queen's Oracle damn I love those rolling drums in the beginning paired with the vocals

3 отв.I like the vanilla D2 music.. Much better than D1... But forsaken music is great too
-
2 отв.Music is always exceptional. I’m a professional musician, I’ve scored films, recorded albums as a signed artist and have done countless studio sessions. They always nail the music and it’s one of the best part of the game. Well done on every level.

1 ответThe music in the Whisper quest area is amazingly good!
-
2 отв.on a side note my buddy that I've played destiny with since early d1 plays with the music off. I was like wtf the music is amazing.

1 ответИзменено (Eden): 12/21/2018 3:41:25 PMRiven's theme is hands down the best song on Destiny/Destiny 2's OSTs combined. Better than Aksis' theme, better than Regicide, better than Last Stand, better than Journey, better than the Whisper of the Worm music. Anyone who disagrees can fight me.

2 отв.Marty is currently working on a psvr game called Golem, looks cool, cannot wait for the soundtrack!

1 ответYa but the dawning music sounds like we are walking into an episode of the Golden Girls

3 отв.I will always love and support Marty as a musician he is great and will always be apart of my greatest memories. I have to say the composer of the Destiny soundtrack is a really good one. Alot of video games developers don’t seem to know how important the music is to their games.
-
2 отв.I’m so disappointed they continue to leave tracks out of the albums though. I love everything I’ve got in the album, but missing the raid music, and the dlc music is a little frustrating, as well as the WoTW music. I understand making the WoTW music a reward was kinda cool, but they don’t show up on apple either way, making them something you can’t access whenever you want.

Dramatic Titan music ftw. And by Titan I mean the moon.
-
The Fanatic’s strike boss music is my favourite at the moment
-
Whenever I went to Queen’s Court for the first time, I freaked
-
Because Salvatori and O’Donnell worked together for so long with Halo music, they have a very similar composition style, that’s why you still “feel” Marty’s influences when you listen to the soundtrack.
-
I wish I could hear it, but the stream of Bade Barrage is too loud.
-
D2 campaign music = 😎😍 D2 title theme = 🤢🙉

Изменено (D-Von, Kell of Tables): 12/20/2018 9:31:52 PMHave you bought the Vinyl Collectors Set of the D1 music? Also I am not gonna lie but when I hear this music in vault speed up it is like a surge of adrenaline https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=C8dX4s0Lslk Destiny has always had some of the best music but this music is probably the most fitting as it ramps up so well and the vocals are just the perfect addition to add to the stress with doing a vault run. That being said D2 music and art design is absolutely top tier and it screams at you to pay attention and never takes no for an answer

Live orchestra is the best for me, sure the electric stuff is fine but the Riven encounter took video game music to a whole new level. Promethean, Archival Mind's Riven of a Thousands Voices Here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Tn1s6CKfjB4&t=850s The best video game music there is.

My only problem is the lack of a consistent motif, in halo, you had the HALO THEME, in this, you just have entirely different themes in different expansions

2 отв.My favorite is Excerpt From the Hope in Destiny 1 https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=RLykV4yLZlQ

1 ответThere’s some really good tracks. Queens oracle, journey and untold legends are my favorites
-
the music that plays during the pleasure gardens on the leviathan is still my all time favourite of destiny’s music. it’s titled “The Hunted” on the soundtrack. such an amazing and underrated piece of music, i wish they used it on more than just the one encounter.
-
Love Destiny’s music. Hats off to all the work that went into bringing great music and ambience into this game.
-
Forsaken's soundtrack not even getting a nod at the TGA was messed up. It's soo damnded good. I liked Mary's stuff in D1, but it had echoes of Halo about it. Salvatori gave Destiny a proper identity.
