I think it is pretty fun still. I have been running solo with a sniper, side arm, and sword and I have managed greater than a 50% win rate this weekend.

6 отв.The negativity about Gambit comes from two sources. 1. Those people who cannot accept the game for what it is. Gambit is a combination of a DPS race in PVE, with a very sanitized version of the open-world PVP you get in MMOs and RPGs. So the PVP is fast, nasty, and unbalanced on 1v1 basis, as most open-world PVP is. The PVP is sanitized because you can opt out of it as a PVE player (by simply not playing), its very structured (invasion only lasts 30 secs), and it "balanced" in a way to give a single player a fighting chance against 4 other players. So you get people complaining because they want Gambit's PVP to be a test of "gun skill" like the Crucible. To a bunch of mid-range 1v1 "duels" like the Crucible...and to be balanced so that every 1v1 fight is "fair". When the fact of the matter is that the game is tuned to reward ambush tactics rather than duels...and if there is a "fair" fight? Someone is either desperate or made a mistake. These are the players who are constantly complaining about how various heavy weapons that are meta for PVP in Gambit are "overpowered" and need to be either nerfed or banned. Or the players constantly complaining about "wall hacks". 2. People who enjoy the game, but are frustrated by some design mistakes that Bungie has made with it that make it frustrating to play over TIME. I fall into this category. We accept the game for what it is....but mainly have two major frustrations with the game. a. The spawns on both sides are too predictable. So good teams will spawn camp Invasion spawn points and melt you the instant you spawn in. Or skilled invaders will a couple of quick kills against a team and then camp their spawn site. But this can be fixed by making the spawns more random. b. Bungie didn't include any skill-stratification in the game....which led to a number of issues that are a big frustration. (1). This results in clan teams on headphones being matched with randomly MM teams. It also leads to very good teams being match against teams where you have one or two good players trying to carry people who are just filling bounties....or are just poor players period. Nothing is more crazymaking than to have kill 70 enemies. Banked 70+ motes in a match....and lost 2-0 because one of your guys died with 69 motes on him during the match. (2) Bungie tried to make up for the lack of skill-stratification by using very heavy "rubber-band"/"catch-up mechanics that slow the team in the lead down to allow a trailing team to catch up and keep the match close. Good teams figured out what those mechanics were...and how to weaponized them. Realizing that its easier to win playing from behind, and using those mechanics to slingshot you past the other team, than it is to lead and have to fight THROUGH them. So every match against a good team or a clan team plays out in the exact same way. They play to bring out their Prime second....so they can dump all the game's catch-up mechanics on you at once. Basically make it impossible for you to win by just playing PVE...and then slingshot past you for the round win. Unless you have a team that is skilled at PVP...this strat is unbeatable right now. (3). Making the start of the Malfeasance questline dependant on BEATING a very low spawn rate boss in Gambit has GOT to be the dumbest game design decision I've seen in years. That---and the bounty system---has lead to a very toxic and tilt-inducing environment in Gambit right now. As you see tons of clan teams, streamers and PVP players FARMING the play mode for that boss....and as a result the play list has all the sweatiness and toxicity of a ranked playlist. As a win-at-any-cost mentality prevails. Let me tell you, the experience having that quest boss spawn and then LOSE----not knowing when you'll get another chance at it----is absolutely soul-crushing. I've only had it spawn once....and lost a close fight to a clan team that was clearly farming for it----and I was literally having to do breathing exercises to keep from breaking the controller in frustration. (4) Because of these issues, Gambit doesn't feel like the PvEvP game that it was billed as, and I honestly believe that Bungie intended it to be. What it plays like in reality is a PvPvE game like Titanfall 2's "Bounty". Where the PvE is simply not determinative. The core of the game has becme Invading and PVP...and all the PVE does is set the stage for successive rounds of PVP. Which (imo) is a less fun and less-interesting game to play....and I think has turned a lot of PVE focused players off to the game mode. Bottomline. The first group just dislike the game, and can't accept it for what it is and how it plays. The second group---my group---loves Gambit and believes that its the seed of something really special but is suffering from some bad design decisions that Bungie made that are slowly sucking the fun out of the game. But can be readily fixed if Bungie addresses them.

Изменено (D2_Dahaka_PAL): 11/6/2018 9:24:10 AMIt’s a gamemode with alot of potential, but has many flaws holding it back. I’d rather have it than not though. Matchmaking is as bad as crucible right now, bounties encourage counter productive gameplay, lag can be nasty at times, catch up and invasion mechanics favour sweaty stacked teams, The rng based Malfeasance boss is BS...the list goes on. All my opinion.
-
It's a great gamemode, there are just a ton of issues with it.
-
It’s the solo snowflakes that are incapable of teamwork or communication
-
1 ответMy 2 complaints are the catch up mechanics and the bounties that take away from the main objective of the game mode that screw over the rest of the team.

Изменено (GouldBerg988): 11/6/2018 9:02:42 AMI dont know how many hours you already put in but at a certain point Gambit is pretty repetitive. When you have your god rolled Trust and Bygones and are at 600 there is basically no incentive to do any Gambit anymore. Yeah...but Malfeasance.... A Joke, I have seen Meatball in exactly 1 of my 100+ games, and then its 50/50 whether yxou kill it or not, then you get an Exostc which is pretty much only good in Gambit (good luck dropping a sleeper invader in a 1 vs. 1). No thanks. There are just a lot of people frustrated with Bungies decisions to "artificially" spice up their content with lackluster RNG

2 отв.Hmm let's see. Matchmaking is -blam!-ed. If I can match against 4 stack after 4 stack there must be enough of them to match against eachother ffs, Also guns, sleeper, QBB, 1 K voices and EP shotty are simply too good for the mode. Screw skill, add clearing, and communication, whichever team has more of the above will win 9/10 games. Not saying they should be nerfed but PvPvE simply doesn't work in Destinty. It's much better in Halo 5 tbh.
-
1 ответCause it's trash, not competitive at all... good players play comp.
-
Solo ❄'s.
-
They mad cuz they bad.
-
3 отв.Because it's not fun about 50% of the time unless you're in a 4 stack. It's much more fun with people on mic who coordinate..and don't just stand there AFK because they just need a completion for an engram or a bounty.

Изменено (TheCyo): 11/5/2018 7:41:34 PMBecause it is the main showcase of how broken Matchmaking in this game is. Every other game in the world uses SBMM. Destiny does not. It basically just throws whoever queues and is not in Antarctica into your match. This means of course that if you go in with a team that has some basic understanding of Gambit you will be almost unbeatable. I call this handout to clans and premades the social check or "friendship" check Bungie likes to give. And as always the bill for such handouts has to be paid by someone, and in this case it is the solo players who actually have to work for their rewards. But it is frustrating to constantly have to fight such an uphill battle knowing that there are ppl that get everything for free because of "friendship endgame". Oh, and what I really like is those ppl internalizing all these external factors as their own "skill".

Probably because it had the potential to be the pinnacle game mode in destiny but it shipped as an unbalanced nightmare with horribke matchmaking. Queue solo, face 90% full teams. Queue as a full team, face 90% solos. Add to that a whole class of unbalanced (for this game mode only) weapons, and the ability to cheese boss kills in under 5 seconds. Most people want to like it and occasionally have fun playing it. It’s current state is bad though.
-
Because they suck. Next week they'll be complaining about something else.
-
I'm hating it cuz daily gambit completions are not counting! Why is this broken?! Other than that it's a nice change.
-
4 отв.Linear fusion rifles kept getfing their AA buffed. so they are super easy to use, queenbreakers legit has huge hitboxes and bullet magnetism also, the invader mechanic needs a rework. only snipers/linears and supers can be used with the short time you got
-
Because they are either bad at it(the nerfcrier) or frustrated because they get paired up with thumbless wonders that are more concerned with getting their bounties done than playing the damn objective.
-
It’s apparently the new fad on the forums🙄 don’t worry next week it’ll just be something else.
