Good evening everybody! This is Aifos coming to you alive from the All Inclusive Fictional Organization, Savvy?’s lore library! If you can’t tell by its title, it’s a library full of lore books!
Anyway, this post has a few purposes;
1. I’m gonna talk some lore (theories)
2. You can talk some lore (theories)
Please remember to use spoiler tags (place the word “spoiler” in [ ] brackets before the spoiler, and put “/spoiler” in [ ] beackets after it) if you are going to spoil anything! Thanks!
So, the theory I want to talk about, is the continuity of Kirby’s timeline. To those of you who played Star Allies, you might remember Hyness’ speech where text scrolled by too fast to read. That was actually a huge lore dump that filled in a big hole we had in the early history of Gamble Galaxy. And I, lore master Aifos.. Am not here to talk about that.
No, I want to talk about Kirby: Triple Deluxe!
As you may remember, in Kirby: 3D’s introduction, Kirby wakes up in the morning, after a good night’s rest in his house. This is one of the only two times Kirby’s house has appeared, the other being the end of Kirby Super Star, where Kirby falls asleep for the night.
Now, by itself, that’s not a very strong connection, but, the writer of Triple Deluxe specifically says he wrote it that way so 3D could pick up where Milky Way Wishes left off.
Now, my understanding of the Kirby timeline was the “linear” chronology, where the games took place in the same order they released, but this statement implies Triple Deluxe would be the 4th game chronologically (Dreamland>Adventure>Super Star>3D). What does that mean, exactly? Well..
The biggest result here is that it takes place before Amazing Mirror. Given we know Sectonia was possessed by the Mirror, Dark Mind’s attack of Popstar could’ve been because of his puppet queen of Floralia being dethroned..
Nothing too mind-blowing. However, there’s one other major implication here. If 3D doesn’t take place by release order, it’s possible that a few of the other games don’t, either. So, then, let’s jump back to Star Allies.
What if the newest Kirby game is actually the oldest? Now, it’s easy to make a baseless claim, but surely I must be coming from somewhere? Well, the first world of Star Allies has a pretty familiar plot;
King Dedede has stolen all the food in Dreamland, and Kirby goes to get it all back, exactly what happens in Kirby’s Dreamland.
Now, yes, that’s not the strongest link, but it actually solves a lot of questions. Such as why Pon & Con are on the Jambastion; they came from there, to Popstar, for their appearance in Dreamland 2, which makes more sense than the other way around.
But, now we’re getting into spoiler territory, and this is the interesting part.
So, in the “linear continuity” timeline, Void Termina released Dark Matter during the Jamban Genocide, which wiped out the Halcandrans. Once they were gone, Popstar eventually came under attack, and later Ripple Star followed suit.
But, in the “chopped continuity” Void Termina was destroyed before Kirby ever encountered Dark Matter, meaning 0, Gooey, and their kin were born from Void Termina’s destruction. This means the Halcandrans were wiped out, and the Master Crown created, fairly recently, possibly making Magalor one of, if not, the last Halcandran, as opposed to his “linear” origins being more likely something of a scavenger, or just really old.
This would also place the guilt of Halcandra, and Ripple Star’s invasions on Kirby’s hands, with no small part from Hyness.
Anyway, there are problems here. For one, if World 1 is supposed to represent Kirby’s Dreamland, we’re missing a few bosses, and King Dedede’s transformation, of course, never happened. More important than both of those, though, is if King Dedede was possessed in the first game, he’d have no reason to want revenge, rendering Revenge of the King non-canon, and while it can be argued it might not be canon anyway, I think it is, as it’s B. Waddle Dee’s debut.
In addition to RotK needing retconning, the Dream Friend DLC containing Gooey would need to be non-canon as well, because, well, Gooey would exist before the events of Star Allies, which wouldn’t make sense.
All in all, I actually believe in the “linear continuity” of Kirby (including Triple Deluxe taking place after Squeak Squad), but much like the shared timeline of Soulsborne, this is one of those theories that’s more interesting just to think about rather than actually believe in.
Anyway, that’s all for now, folks! Jambuhbye!

2 отв.Изменено (The First Aifos): 4/27/2018 6:39:17 PMI know that nobody’s probably reading my posts, after all, they’re long-winded, aboyt a game most of you don’t care about, and the op is.. Well, me, so he’s not gonna read this. But, who cares!? :D I’ve got another piece of Skullgirls lore for you! If any of you read any of my posts on Skullgirls, you’ll usually hear me say that Squigly is my favorite character in the game, and that’s true. By a long shot. But, if we dig into the extended universe of Skullgirls, rather than just the game, then there’s one character who has a chance of stealing the spotlight! So today, I want to share with you the story of Annie ofthe Stars!* *I’m gonna take some liberties with her early story, and dramatize it, because we don’t actually know the details! A young girl lies in bed, asleep. Her mother is lookimg over her, nearly in tears. The child is sick. Dying. All conventional medicine has done nothing to save her, and she only has a few days to live. The child’s name is Annie, and this is only the beginning of her story, not the end. The mother could only think of one more thing to do, and she went to the church, and prayed to the Trinity. A nun approached her, having heard her prayers, and lets her know that there is a way to save her daughter. The nun holds out her hand, and in her palm rests the legendary Skull Heart. She knows what will happen if she makes this wish.. Even so, she takes the Skull Heart in her hand, and says “I want my daughter to live.” And with that sentence, Annie opened her eyes. But the world she awoke to was not the same one where she drifted off to sleep. This wasn’t the world where she could live peacefully in her village with her mother. Her village was gone. Destroyed. Ripped apart by the undead horde the Skullgirl created. Her mother created. She awoke to a world where her life was saved in exchange for countless others. But, like every Skullgirl before, and since, Annie’s mother was killed, and the seven year cycle was reset. Annie became an orphan. An orphan who was unable to die, and had no one in the world to care for her. But rather than let this lonliness overcome her, she swore that her immortality would not go to waste, and she set out on a quest to help whoever she could. This is when she met Sagan, and at the price of her right eye, the two became an inseperable pair. Annie forged a sword from meteorite, and along with Sagan’s powers, they travelled the world, doing good. But as time passed, Annie didn’t age. She remained the same for an eternity, as the world grew larger, and more advanced. Soon enough, the world didn’t need heroes to fight off monsters, and she found out quickly that fighting corrupt agencies like the Medici Mafia made you more enemies, than friends. And so, as time went on, tales of her heroics became legends, and legends became fairy tales, as Annie faded into the background. Introducing the hit new TV show; Annie of the Stars! She couldn’t make her living as a hero anymore, but she could as an actor! The cartoon became a hit, and Annie became a world-wide phenomena! The writers of the show pulled from old legends, and fairy tales, not even knowing that their source material was the actual life of their show’s star! Out of the playable game cast, Cerebella, Parasoul, and Peacock are all fans, and even have an Annie-colored skin to prove it! There was even a special guest episode with wrestling phenomena Beowulf as “The Big Bad Wolf”! Although the show was mostly lighthearted, and whimsical, Annie (who had more influence over the show than her directors) didn’t shy away from letting her anti-Skullgirl stance known during the show, with the episodes (rightfully) demonizing it often. However, her career as an actor hasn’t dulled her sense of justice. She fought in the battle against the former queen after she became a Skullgirl, and likely fought many others before that. More than anything, though, she still seeks to destroy her lifelong rival, and the one enemy she’s yet to conquer; the nun who gave her mother the Skull Heart to begin with. Double. She’s had 3 in-game roles. She warns Beowulf of his pretty sketchy manager, Zane, and advises against his reckless plan to take out Marie, the current Skullgirl. She also appeared as the head, and likely the source of income, for the rebellion against Robo-Fortune during the Days of Future Cats. That entire timeline is, however, non-canon. When Filia awoke from a nightmare of being murdered by Fukua, she, along with Umbrella, appeared for a split second in the mirror with Fukua, appearing to be collaborating with her. Like the Days of Future Cats, though, this is non-canon. Annie nearly won her playable role in game twice, but was just barely beaten out by Beowulf, and Eliza. This lead to a joke within the community to refer to her (and Umbrella) as being really spiteful. p.s. I want Lab Zero to make a real Annie of the Stars! episode.

3 отв.I absolutely love, and am fascinated by, mimics in any form. That said, I don't know any of the lore for Dark Souls mimics outside of the fact that they're greedy. Can anyone write me the details on their lore and background? I don't think there's overly much but I want to know it.

1 ответИзменено (Rhynerd): 4/25/2018 7:20:15 AMThere’s something that captivates me about the world of Deadbolt. While most of my knowledges comes from Q&A stuff with the developers, I haven’t worked up the guts to ask them a question they have. It involves a subject the devs don’t have a question about: the origins of the Reapers. The only original residents of the Place are probably the Flame and its Candles. Everyone else was either somebody who died and ended up here as an undead, or an import from Hell. The Undead are as follows:
Zombies: Victims of drug overdose, while harder to kill now they are still captive to the addictions that killed them. Vampires: The most lustful of the undead, almost always found in dance clubs with bars. Funny how they were all scorned lovers in their original lives. Skeletons: These undead were the victims of suicide once. Now they are the eternally cold, always wearing coats but unable to warm up.
Thing is, the Reapers are meant to be a sort of undead as well, yet their origins are now unknown.
The developers were going to make the reapers suicide victims but gave that to the skeletons instead. They even designed our reaper’s skull around the idea of them eating their gun. When you leave your apartment as the reaper, you can see a hole in the back of their head, an artifact of this old time. This is where my theory begins to develop. In the simple pixels of the game, the bullet hole is a nice, clean square, which would probably translate into a circle. If the skull as depicted in the title picture shows some of the damage done from the bullet, then it might make more sense for the reaper to have been shot from behind. As macabre as it might be to say, I think our reaper was murdered in their original life. Maybe it was an assassination, like the ending of Tinker, Tailor, Soldier, Spy, or an execution.
Part of me wants to just ask the devs this question, but I feel like I should solidify this theory further before submission.

1 ответThe playable factions in Starcraft are Terran, Protoss, and Zerg. However there's not that many that know about the various sub-factions/organizations of each race. The Terran for example have the Terran Dominion, the dominant Terran faction in the Koprulu Sector where the games take place led by Emperor Arcturus Mengsk. Some other notable factions are the Kel-Morian Combine which control the richest mineral node in the sector and created the Terran Goliath mech unit that you can build in-game. My favorite Terran faction is the United Earth Directorate. The UED saw what was happening in the Koprulu Sector and decided to take action. The UED"s plan was to topple the Terran Dominion, enslave the new Zerg Overmind using powerful drugs and toxins, and destroy the Protoss. They believed that by doing all of this, they were saving all of humanity and hope to make a better future. You play as the UED during the Terran campaign in Starcraft: Brood War and help them reach their goals.

Изменено (The First Aifos): 4/27/2018 4:07:35 AMGot some Skullgirls lore, for you! Robo Fortune’s story mode is mostly just a joke. Between Brain Drain creating Robo Fortune on a whim from Valentine’s joke reaearch paper on Ms. Fortune, to the Nausica & X-Men references at the end, and revealing major plot details in small talk, it’s not meant to be taken seriously. But, just how Fukua was integrated into the lore, for small (at least at one point) non-canon Easter eggs, there’s a lot of thought & detail here, so I thought J’d share a bit of lore from arguably the best ending in Skullgirls; Days of Future Cats! At first, fairly standard robot apocalypse, but with cats. Robo Fortune decides that humanity must be purrrrrged and starts destroying everything. Annie of the Stars pulls together a desperate last resistance against the feline menace, but knowing it’s futile, their true plan is to alter the past. Here’s the neat part, though. The two highest ranking members of Annie’s resistance are Adam, and Stanely. While Adam has experience leading armies, Stanely is a master at weapon design, and these two, combined with Annie’s leadership, would easily be able to create & lead a resistance force. Additionally, Umbtella, along with Isaac, flee into some sort of bunker, while Annie and the rest go to attack Robo Fortune’s army. Isaac is a time traveller, using Theonite to essentially “buy time”, and Umbrella is part of the old royal family. If anyone were to go back in time, aside from the presumed dead Parasoul herself, few people would have as much freedom as Umbrella, making her a perfect candidate for Isaac fo send back. The thing I love about all this, is that for all the detail they put in here, 90% of the players who see it won’t notice any of it, because none of these characters except Annie, and Umbrella, really had an expanded role anywhere within the game. Also, if they ever release a sort of ‘Skullgirls Deluxe’ where they add more characters, and/or spruce up a few of the classic character’s story modes, Annie, Umbrella, and Marie are pretty much given to make it in. In this case, I would love if Umbrella’s story mode is actually her coming from the future with the plan of using the Skull Heart to stop Robo Fortune. Edit; I somehow forgot to mention; Annie’s flippin’ rich, so she probably funded the rebellion

11 отв.Soul Sacrifice has some fantastic lore. Way too much to go into here, but the (relatively) "short" of it is:
There were two "gods" who existed in chaos. The younger got greedy and the older tricked and trapped him, forcing him into a single form (the earth). The younger's greed bubbled to the surface and manifestated itself in the form of man. These men divided themselves into two tribes, one of which was disgusted by their orgins and turned to the elder god and the other which embraced their orgins and turned to their creator. This second tribe was granted power by their creator and these were the first sorcerers. Needless to say, this didn't sit well with the first tribe. Cue a war that royally f***ed up both sides and the planet. So much so that denizens of the land, man and beast, begin to grow warped and monsters first begin appearing. Ultimately, however, the first tribe wins. Generations later, the two tribes have integrated. Now, sorcerers (descendents of the second tribe) work under an organization known as Avalon. They "protect" the land by murdering monsters. And I do mean "murder" as monsters, more often than not, are corrupted humans and once defeated revert to their human form. Some are individuals who have been wounded by other monsters (think werewolves and vampires). Then are archfiends (patient zeroes) which come about by making a pact with a wish granting chalice. Most monsters, however, are sorcerers who have succumbed to their right arm. See, a sorcerer's power comes from their right arm. By sacrificing others and absorbing them into their right arm, a scorcerer can become more powerful. Typically these sacrifices are those who've become monsters, but sometimes it's mortally wounded comrades (who a sorcerer deems would be better sacrificed than saved. And yes, in co-op you can sacrifice your partner if he/she goes down). When an individual is sacrificed, however, everything about them is absorbed by the sorcerer; their power, their memories, their personalities, their corruption... everything. Eventually, many sorcerers lose themselves. If they don't do it though, they won't be able to fight off more poweful monsters. And therein lies the conundrum. Grow more powerful and you're more likely to become the thing you're sworn to destroy. Forgo this power, however, and you leave these threats to go unchecked. Of course, there's more to it than that but this should make for a good crash course.
Also, every monster and location has it's own set of lore. Above are the passages in the game for the location "Resplendent Rapunzel". Unfortunately they flip through pretty fast which is a shame because you'll probably have to pause the video interrupting the music (which is from the OST)
