This should easily be a top ten franchise.

12 отв.D2 is top 3 of all games. Nothing really comes close

4 отв.Why are you even here complaining? You’ll never be satisfied with anything they do. Bungie’s working hard to fix everything you cry babies complained about, but you’ll never be happy. This is YOUR fault anyway. All the whining entitled babies made the game this way. I mean, you crybabies weren’t actually involved in the creation of this game in any way whatsoever, but it’s still YOUR fault. They already said they’d fix everything so why are you still complaining? This is exactly what happened with D1. I mean, it is kind of odd how they’re making all of the same mistakes that they already made years ago, and how they’ve made no forward progress since D1, and how all of the things they said they were going to add should and could have been included in the game at launch, but it’s still YOUR fault you hater! Bungie can do no wrong. Everything they do is fine and if you don’t like it then you’re just ENTITLED and you should just sell your copy and get off of the forums.

119 отв.It is. Despite being as polarizing a game as it is. It was the Number 2 selling AAA game in North America in 2017 (behind only Call of Duty), and the Number 4 selling globally. No the real question is "Why is this game so polarizing, and invokes such passion in people?" Simple....Expectations. Destiny is a new type of game...but it is a "new" game in that it combines elements from a number of different types of games. Each of whom have their own fans....who come to this game with their own set of expectations. Many of which are contradictory with those others bring from other types of games. Add to that, Bungie's determination to keep the sandbox "unified"...and you wind up with what is a fight for control over the game, where there are clear winners and losers. Because THIS ONE game cannot meet all the expectations that everyone is putting on it. Add to that, the fact that this game has no real compeititon (still) after nearly 4 years on the market....players who aren't having their needs met aren't leaving the game. Because there is nothing else in the marketplace that truly offers what this game does. So they either. 1. Hang around, and continue to bitterly fight for control of the game, and try to get it to be what it is that they want. (Honest...but sometimes not practical). Or... 2. They leave the game...but come back here (and other places where the Destiny community gathers) and bash Bungie and trash talk the game. Sort of like the jilted girlfriend who's mad that she got dumped, but can't let go and move on. So she bad mouths her ex to everyone who will listen.

5 отв.In the case of Destiny 2, they rushed it. They didn't give themselves nearly enough time to put out a proper sequel....or whatever it is. Instead we got a gutted limited reskin of what we had before...........with less choices.

Bungie, nuff said

14 отв.It’s tragic to see a concept with limitless potential get torn apart by greed, hubris, short-sightedness, nepotism, sycophancy, isolationism, and overall contempt for the people that want to support you.
-
Cos the guys who conceptualised the original Destiny and how it was meant to be all got “moved on”. D1 then got chopped up and released. Loads of content and the “too linear” story was then Frankensteined (my own word there) into D1 DLC and into D2. More cut content from D1 will drop as DLC in D2 lifetime. So, without the originators vision and creative force, you’re left with managers and accountants trying to make a visionary video game.

1 ответHere’s a theory. Bungie purposely made a bad sequel to try and break their contract with Activision. Then they’ll make an actual sequel and forget this mess ever happened.

7 отв.Изменено (ELRaSun): 3/1/2018 8:11:26 AMIt’s quite easy, actually. It became clear somewhere around House Of Wolves that the main thrust behind development was this idea of “how you SHOULD play OUR game.” Infusion / Ascension was an example back around post-HOW. Late game nerfs around TTK / ROI are another example (alot of those nerfs foreshadowed D2’s weapon system, like The Truth nerf) True enough. It IS their game. Their project, their vision, their hard work. BUT, in the end, much like music... once it leaves your studio it becomes “the world’s”. And much of D2’s mistakes are just more examples of them trying to dictate how we SHOULD play. Rather than, how the majority “Enjoy” playing. The subclass skill trees are an example Now. You put THAT, with time constraints, unclear/unfinished direction on lore and game systems like mods and masterworks, and... yeah...

Tried to cater to everybody. Casuals and Sweaties. Lost all of em...

"Making content, is just too hard... So, we will push Eververse and make money that way!"

1 ответGreed and arrogance.

Yes, the concept. So much potential there. Technically, I've been waiting for Destiny to live up to its potential since the day I played the Beta. It's always come up short. With Destiny 1 however there was a sense that the game was getting better, that it was improving with each DLC and each update. With Destiny 2, Bungie decided get rid of any and everything that had the slightest whiff of RPG about it what's left feels unbelievably shallow and empty.
-
I asked the same every time I saw those latest Alien prequels!
-
it's called sjws and they are ruining society
-
Especially after they had d1 as a beta.

7 отв.Bungie can't decide whether they are making a pvp focussed shooter, or a pve focussed RPG with guns. Naturally, this means they half-arse both sides and leave it with a bunch of flaws, and underdeveloped strengths. What they need to do, is decide what kind of game Destiny is actually going to be. If they do that, they can make a good game.
As long as they sort out their greed and pride.
Personally, I'd want the RPG/pve focus.

-blam!-ing amen dude.

2 отв.ACTIVISION with a little Bungie mixed in.
-
Everyone from Bungie who contributed to its reputation of awesome games and awesome communities was fired or quit before Destiny's release
-
Financially, it is #1 in it's category I believe -- you have to look at who they're in business with -- Activision doesn't care about quality, we know this from CoD. They only care about pushing out empty content at a rapid pace, we know this from CoD. It's not going to change.
-
This beyond Bungie's skill now. This is lile McLaren having the best car but their driving team sucks and they are losing. They need new driver. Activision, give your 💰 to someone else.
Just an example of car racing. Not actual facts.
1 ответThe mechanics are okay but it is sooooo booooorrrrriiiiiinnnnnnggggg!!!!!!!!!!

Thank you for saying the game is bad and providing no feedback to help it.
