Did Taeko-3 actually die in vain?
I think she did. Here’s why.
So in the strike, we have to destroy these Void light crystals to proceed, then we’re about to meet up with Taeko, then she sacrifices herself. Im sure you guys already knew it like the back of your hand.
But why?
So, as seen running through the strike, we see some Hive Wizards standing by some Void Light, performing a ritual to turn it into one of the stable crystals. You kill the Wizard before the crystal turns stable, you pick up the Light, then slam it into this altar, protecting the Shrieker.
Now, it’s safe to assume that the big ritual was/is Savathúns Song,or based around it. Now think about it. The dead Guardians, besides Taeko-3, their light was being used to protect the Shriekers, correct? So Taeko-3, could have [i]possibly[/i] sacrificed herself during the mission for absolutely no reason.
The only way I think I could be wrong, is if in the final stage, the Light slamming into the altar to disempower Song, was actually us interrupting the ritual that they were attempting to preform last second. However, considering that Song could still shoot us, I highly doubt it.
So there you go. I don’t particularly enjoy this strike, but it’s just something I noticed while running through it.

Here is my theory If they wanted to destroy the savathûn's song they...yes...they needed at last a guardian to sacrifice in order to make it, cause the shriekers shield probably wasn't powered by guardians light and when 9 guardians arrived the shriekers already had it...like the bosses we kill in the raids and that's the reason why they got killed one by one...but after they were diying they managed to discover that the remaining light in form of void light could destroy the shrieker's shields and they foolishly decided to sacrifice themeselves to continue around the ritual probably tricked by savathun(this last of savathun trick is just a personal theory of mine) unless only Taeko-3 remained alive and decided to suicide himself with the excuse of sacrifice. Now pay attention that when we arrive to the archeology there only remains the light void of every guardian that died but...how did they managed to continue if the shriekers were still alive?...there my theory enters...the guardians were hypnotized or trycked by savathun to die and be used for the ritual and thats the reason of why we only find crystals of light void and all of the enemies alive, cause they didn't fight, they were tricked by a powerful force to die without reason. If we weren't managed to arrive, the hive would had the crystsl of light voids of the 9 guardians and thats was the plan of savathûn. But she didn't counted with us.

Look, you are wrong. She didn’t do becoming the crystal, there was already a crystal and she tried to destroy it.... BUT THEN FELL INTO A PLOT HOLE AND DIED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

2 отв.Just make something up. That Taeko wasn't real. She was just Savathûn tricking the Guardians into a trap. The real Taeko was long gone. She got stuck on the stalagmites that were formed so inconveniently in the cave, and clawed to death by Thralls while hiding in that little cut out directly in front of Savathûn.

She could have just hid, waited for the strike team to get there and they could have left together.

5 отв.You are exactly right about the manner in which you are wrong. The Void light was about disrupting the Summoning Ritual being powered by it. Not destroying the Shriekers.

I guess, she sacrificed herself because she saw all those dead crystalline Guardians and thought: ‘what a pack of weaklings, and I will be associated with them, let me do something heroic instead’...

You see, in order to stop the ritual and destroy Savathun's song, we needed to overload it with void light like we'd been doing the whole time throughout the strike. She sacrificed herself so that we would have enough concentrated void light to stop the ritual

You said it yourself the Crystals disrupt. Savathuns song wasn’t a normal shrieker so maybe it didn’t need Wizards to have that shield at the beginning. Also we did use her light to slam Savathuns song at the end. So technically she did disrupt.

1 ответShe allowed herself to be turned into a crystal so we'd have one to destroy at the end to disrupt the ritual. If she hadn't, there wouldn't have been one at all, because we'd destroyed all the others during the strike,
