Destiny uses an insane amount of upload in everything except single player components. Factor at least 5kbps per player in the same zone as you (3 in orbit, etc.).
It's most likely your connection and you running out of upload. The other likely option is CPU throttling impacting Discord.

I know my internet is very fast so I don't think that is it, but I haven't checked anything dealing with my CPU. Do you have any ideas how to lessen the thottling on my CPU? This is my first gaming PC so I am still learning how to troubleshoot all the components.

Does it also have good upload (and I'm talking over 500 kbps reliably)? CPU throttling is hard to detect as it can spike while you're in the game. What's your CPU?

7th Generation Intel Core i7-7700HQ Processor (Up to 3.8GHz) 15.6" Full HD (1920 x 1080) widescreen IPS display NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1050 Ti with 4 GB of dedicated GDDR5 VRAM 16GB DDR4 Memory, 256GB SSD These are my specs.

Considering we're talking about a laptop, you've got three core issues. 1. The 1050 Ti is actually below the recommended (it meets the minimum); 2. Heat in laptops is a huge problem and can cause throttling; 3. Laptop CPUs are subject to a different boost metric, so you're actually running four 2.8GHz cores, with limited speed enhancement -- your CPU is below minimum specification too. "Up to 3.8GHz" is the real problem. Take a look at your CPU on Intel's ark. It uses Turbo Boost 2.0. Unlike desktop systems it can't be sustained (it wasn't designed for the same thing because of thermal limits in laptops).

Okay. Thank you for your help. Ill go over that tonight. I really appreciate the help. I planning to build a desktop in the next 6 months so I wont have these limitations.
