Seriously. There are EA levels of lunacy going on with this game.
Complete disregard for nearly 4 years of feedback across multiple platforms.
Either this guy is a complete tool who thinks he knows what we want better than we do, and simply cannot take ANY input from the people who buy the actual product. Or, someone behind the scenes has him by the nuts and is forcing him to make these INSANE decisions.
(EDIT - I know I as a bit over zealous in th original post. But to clarify, this is NOT another "Fire Luke Smith!" post. After all the guy brought us VoG and TTK, so he isn't all bad. But I and many others feel that he just isn't fit for the big boy chair.)
(EDIT #2 - THEY FRIGGED UP THE RAID! How do they manage to mess up the raid?! Its the crown Jewel of destiny, what the game has that truly makes it stand out.
As you all probably know already the Prestige mode of the Leviathan has just been made available. With a higher recommended light level, a prerequisite of having beaten the normal raid and various tweeks upping complication it is the hardest end game activity in the game. And what do we get for completing the hardest endgame activity?
TOKENS A SHADER AND AN EMBLEM!
No new weapons, No new upgraded armor. Nothing! Its a cosmetic activity!
You go through all that pain only to recieve either tokens for normal raid gear, or badly re skinned normal raid gear.
Who's idea was this? The raid is something that is supposed to be highly challenging and equally rewarding. I feel like we are getting very close to having to say RIP Destiny, and it makes me sad.)
( EDIT #3 - Even with the Live team taking over and the launch of "Curse of Osiris", Destiny 2 is still struggling to keep its head above water. It now seems like Luke Smith is not to blame, but Bungie as a whole. Their complete disregard for their fan-base is digging them a hole that will be extremely tricky to crawl out of. Pile on the numerous lies, dupes and schemes they have pulled involving XP, loot, events and the Eververse and the future of this game is looking extremely grim. I believe it will take a miracle to save Destiny 2...
The new DLC added almost nothing to the content of the game. Bringing to the table a few story missions, a handful of new items, and the worlds shortest raid. It feels like it should have been a free content update rather than a full blown DLC. Unsurprisingly "Curse of Osiris" added more content to the Eververse shop than anything else, probably THE most hated part of Destiny 2.
But hey... At least we were brought the Be all, end all of public events. Sporting 3 minutes of activity, and the most rewarding loot drops we have ever seen!
How will you use your two tokens and a blue?)
(Edit #4 - It seems Bungie has finally seen the error of their ways. They are now attempting something that has never been tried in the history of gaming, they have resorted to listening to their fan-base to bring back much needed mechanics. I know, it sounds like a ludicrous idea, But hard times call for drastic measures.
Bungie has released a roadmap detailing the games upcoming changes. You'd think that in the 4th year of the franchise we would be seeing new and exciting things to come. But you'd be wrong, in the 4th year of the franchise we are seeing a plan to implement previously existing and approved systems. Some that were in place since the launch of the first Destiny. We will also be seeing the removal of many systems that were never enjoyed or even requested.
These changes will take nearly a year to implement and will most likely require the purchase of one or more DLCs. With any luck, by fall of 2018 we will be able to play the game we owned two years ago and finally be able to move forward with the franchise. But is it enough? The fanbase is already hemorrhaging bad, and even the dedicated Youtube and Twitch channels are dying off, just how many of us will be around to at last experience the true continuation of the first Destiny game?)
(Edit #5 - Its so empty in here. Sadly, I truly believe that Destiny 2 has sealed its fate.
I will always remember my first experience with Destiny, it was EASILY the most fun I've ever had on console. A high I've been chasing ever since, but it looks like Bungie may never deliver. People are leaving, streams are dead, updates have no hype... No one cares.
This is the last update folks. It seems that the franchise has been destined to simply fade away by Bungie and Activision. I wish you all the best in your future games, and thank you for the upvotes.
Stay strong, Guardians.)

1 ответI hope he stays in charge until Destiny 3. I enjoy seeing this game in its poorest shape it has ever been. I point fingers when i see someone buying the game or wear a destiny tshirt. its like lol look at that guy, he sure is special.
-
The Same people who defended bungie and Destiny 2 pre release, are now bashing the pair of them. The masses were wrong on this one.
-
-
I can't pretend to know who is pulling the strings but agree D2 is not what I was hoping for in the follow up to D1
-
Get this to 2,000 likes. Bungie seems to respond once a post hits 2,000. Would love to see them respond to this one.
-
4 отв.He has great idea. You guys whine over crucible. He has done great things for the PvE community, can't you agree?
-
6 отв.Bungie please ignore this whiny post.
-
2 отв.https://www.bungie.net/en/Forum/Post/235799218/0/0 I'll just leave this here.
-
6 отв.Actually he knows exactly what he's doing. D2 came out just as planned. It's all been calculated with max profit in mind.
-
3 отв.Oh no! 1k people out of a few million want him fired.
-
yes let’s fire the director of destiny 2. let’s get him out of the ‘big’ chair. yeah, not gonna happen.
-
10 отв.He sees the number of people who play, and the amount of money they have made through eververse. You do not. As such, he can see that the game is successful, and is ignoring most of the negative criticism.

9 отв.Изменено (Unforgiven): 10/16/2017 1:29:50 PMOk so Luke Smith has to drop everything and cater to you little moaning bitch emirite? Go away pls and play COD if you hate D2. I love the direction the game is taking. Put on your big boy pants and speak with your wallet crybaby.

2 отв.Well I read the forums everyday and I didn't start seeing anyone praise a single thing about d1 until d2 came out, then asked bungie why all the good stuff from d1 was taken out....well because they didn't know any of it was good, no one ever said it was. What's good to half the community is bad to the other half. It's like a bakery making a huge cake for 10 people to share. 4 people want the cake chocolate and 4 want it vanilla and 2 people want it to be strawberry cheesecake. They argue for 3 years over it. The bakery finally makes it 1 third chocolate, a third vanilla and a third cheesecake. Then all 10 people are like wtf....werent you listening. I said I want chocolate and everyone agrees. Meanwhile all 10 people are mad simply because the entire cake isn't what they wanted...but from outside it looks like the cake is terrible because no one is happy. I'm not happy with totally happy with d2 either, because it's not what I wanted....but I can also see reality with alot of these decisions made. And I know it could have been alot worse. They didn't take any huge leaps because, well, huge leaps are risks, and in the cake situation, if they decided to take a leap and make the whole cake vanilla/chocolate cheesecake, which is different, but no one asked for, it would be even worse. I can understand why they made the decisions they did, because I read these forums and have general common sense about games, this community, and business in general. Stop asking why is bungie not talking more with the community. Well in the above example, which community are they supposed to listen to? The chocolate, vanilla, or cheesecake community? The only, and I mean only, general opinion I've seen the community mostly agree on over the years, which wasn't implemented very well, was the separation of pve and PvP. That's the only thing. Even sparrow racing, was complained about a ton, and loved a ton. I saw the community totally split on 3ocs. It made things too easy for half, and it was still too hard for half. So what do you do there? Smarty pants. You people don't have any idea why they did what they did honestly. It's not defending bungie, it's just using logic and thinking outside of your perspective. Nothing was massively enjoyed in d1, from pve, to PvP. Nightfalls, strikes, patrols, raids, every weapon, every perk on every weapon, every class, every subclass, every mechanic, every version of infusion systems, every rng rate, every consumable, every event, every iron banner, every aspect of d1 down to the juke box and sweeper bot was complained about. I just understand when a million people scream different things, the final result will not be a popular one....no matter what the final result is.

16 отв.Disregard 4 years of Feedback? Man you should go back over that four years and see what the suggestions were. - Get rid of grenade/ability spam in the crucible - Have primaries matter in crucible - Reduce lag - More ways to reach maximum light (power) - More story missions - Balance weapons individually vs. broad nerfs/buffs We got EXACTLY what we asked for in D2. Don't like, then be careful what you wish for. I agree with Luke Smith, static rolls are better than hundreds of random rolls we never use. Mods will certainly be the future of the end game grind. It certainly isn't there yet, but I'm sure it will be the next expansion if not before. Mods have the potential to be something we need to grind for, BUT they can easily be worked so we always want what we grind for. That is far better than RNG.

16 отв.He knows exactly what he is doing. He is the Creative Director at Bungie, been there since 2007...and you are what? Exactly. Do you really think Luke Smith is take advice from some pos on a forum and makes design changes for the 5.4 million players?
-
Lol luke smith is reading this, laughing while he wipes his arse with the money you threw at the screen, waiting for you to do it again when the dlc comes. I love it
-
14 отв.He made TTK, so I say keep him. Downvoted
-
Изменено (an engram full of bees): 10/16/2017 7:19:08 PMI think the problem with feedback is that they haven't showed us whatsoever that they're listening. They say they're listening. But then again they said a lot of things in D1, so you know....
-
1 ответTo a man, not a single person who complains about this guy could do his job better....if at all. I am so hyped to casual the hell out of this game next week. Not many "legends" on these forums.....
-
100 отв.He can be a "tool" at times....but so can anyone with a sarcastic sense of humor. But Luke Smith isn't stupid, and neither is Bungie. Bungie is listening to the community. They just aren't listening to YOUR part of it. Because Bungie realized that----at the end of the day----its easier and more profitable to cater to the casual gamer whom you can satisfy. Who'll leave the game happy, and then come back (happy) when there is new stuff to do.... ....than it is trying to cater to hardcore players who entitled, constantly complaining and are never (truly) happy with what you're doing with the game. EVERY change that has been made to this game from Destiny 1 is the result of a change that SOME part of this community asked for. But when you have several factions of this community all trying to pull the game in different directions, there is---AND THERE WILL NEVER BE----any one version of this game that pleases everyone. ...and Bungie---and Luke Smith----finally figured that out...and stopped trying to please everyone.
-
Can almost guarantee he doesnt get fulls say as to what we get and what we dont. Hes just the scapegoat imo
-
Granted I typically don't agree with some of these forum post as they've lead to probably my most hated nerfs in this game in og D1. However, I'll have to fully agree with this one. Years of fans screaming for improvements didn't come until TTK and although D1 was that game you loved to hate it was truly addictive. I don't think the model here was improve our formula, but rather "we need to sell copies" and it shows.
-
3 отв.To be fair when they do listen to the bungie forums they ruin the game. These forums are extremely toxic and I think bungie knows a lot more than the millions of casual gamers that have no idea what they are talking about on the forums
-
2 отв.shutup about these hate posts on the forums, i played d1 year 1-3 n loved it(new acc) sure the game isn’t as good as we expected but they’re not gonna change the game after some posts on forums. enjoy the game instead of hating on it, trust me it’s a lot better that way
