Seriously. There are EA levels of lunacy going on with this game.
Complete disregard for nearly 4 years of feedback across multiple platforms.
Either this guy is a complete tool who thinks he knows what we want better than we do, and simply cannot take ANY input from the people who buy the actual product. Or, someone behind the scenes has him by the nuts and is forcing him to make these INSANE decisions.
(EDIT - I know I as a bit over zealous in th original post. But to clarify, this is NOT another "Fire Luke Smith!" post. After all the guy brought us VoG and TTK, so he isn't all bad. But I and many others feel that he just isn't fit for the big boy chair.)
(EDIT #2 - THEY FRIGGED UP THE RAID! How do they manage to mess up the raid?! Its the crown Jewel of destiny, what the game has that truly makes it stand out.
As you all probably know already the Prestige mode of the Leviathan has just been made available. With a higher recommended light level, a prerequisite of having beaten the normal raid and various tweeks upping complication it is the hardest end game activity in the game. And what do we get for completing the hardest endgame activity?
TOKENS A SHADER AND AN EMBLEM!
No new weapons, No new upgraded armor. Nothing! Its a cosmetic activity!
You go through all that pain only to recieve either tokens for normal raid gear, or badly re skinned normal raid gear.
Who's idea was this? The raid is something that is supposed to be highly challenging and equally rewarding. I feel like we are getting very close to having to say RIP Destiny, and it makes me sad.)
( EDIT #3 - Even with the Live team taking over and the launch of "Curse of Osiris", Destiny 2 is still struggling to keep its head above water. It now seems like Luke Smith is not to blame, but Bungie as a whole. Their complete disregard for their fan-base is digging them a hole that will be extremely tricky to crawl out of. Pile on the numerous lies, dupes and schemes they have pulled involving XP, loot, events and the Eververse and the future of this game is looking extremely grim. I believe it will take a miracle to save Destiny 2...
The new DLC added almost nothing to the content of the game. Bringing to the table a few story missions, a handful of new items, and the worlds shortest raid. It feels like it should have been a free content update rather than a full blown DLC. Unsurprisingly "Curse of Osiris" added more content to the Eververse shop than anything else, probably THE most hated part of Destiny 2.
But hey... At least we were brought the Be all, end all of public events. Sporting 3 minutes of activity, and the most rewarding loot drops we have ever seen!
How will you use your two tokens and a blue?)
(Edit #4 - It seems Bungie has finally seen the error of their ways. They are now attempting something that has never been tried in the history of gaming, they have resorted to listening to their fan-base to bring back much needed mechanics. I know, it sounds like a ludicrous idea, But hard times call for drastic measures.
Bungie has released a roadmap detailing the games upcoming changes. You'd think that in the 4th year of the franchise we would be seeing new and exciting things to come. But you'd be wrong, in the 4th year of the franchise we are seeing a plan to implement previously existing and approved systems. Some that were in place since the launch of the first Destiny. We will also be seeing the removal of many systems that were never enjoyed or even requested.
These changes will take nearly a year to implement and will most likely require the purchase of one or more DLCs. With any luck, by fall of 2018 we will be able to play the game we owned two years ago and finally be able to move forward with the franchise. But is it enough? The fanbase is already hemorrhaging bad, and even the dedicated Youtube and Twitch channels are dying off, just how many of us will be around to at last experience the true continuation of the first Destiny game?)
(Edit #5 - Its so empty in here. Sadly, I truly believe that Destiny 2 has sealed its fate.
I will always remember my first experience with Destiny, it was EASILY the most fun I've ever had on console. A high I've been chasing ever since, but it looks like Bungie may never deliver. People are leaving, streams are dead, updates have no hype... No one cares.
This is the last update folks. It seems that the franchise has been destined to simply fade away by Bungie and Activision. I wish you all the best in your future games, and thank you for the upvotes.
Stay strong, Guardians.)

3 отв.Yeah I'm now muting all people who mention Luke Smith. Sick of seeing it. Muted
-
I'm tired of him telling us what we want. I don't want him fired necessarily, but he need to be taken out of the high chair. He's terrible when he gets to call all of the shots.

get back up there!

24 отв.Destiny 2 is on its way to being a collection game.... That means Destiny 2 is basically Halo meets Pokemon. That is why the player base is disappointed - we wanted Halo meets Skyrim and Borderlands, not some participation trophy collectors game.

Изменено (Olive): 10/18/2017 9:16:13 AMI agree with MrsSpecter2199 in that Luke Smith does have a goal. The only way I can see a competent individual making the decisions he has for this game is by one of two ways: 1) He relied solely on his experience playing the game and failed to realize the chase for God rolls and character customization is the only thing that kept D1 alive during its dry content phases. 2) Activision put pressure on them to make destiny 2 less time consuming than D1 so the casual gamer could complete the content and have time to spend more money on their next title. I am personally so disappointed in the decision making process that went into Destiny 2. We lost the thing that kept the game alive, we lost character customizations, we've lost any and all incentive to continue playing. Where the massive disconnect came from on the dev side Im not sure. I have spent more time in D1 than I care to admit on both consoles but honestly I think bungie stands a real risk of ruining the destiny franchise. At this point If I were them I would pump as much weekly stuff as I could into the community, allow the light level to increase and instead of going with the planned DLC do a complete reboot. It might sound drastic but they are loosing their biggest supporters. Im still hoping they are going to do something to surprise me and turn it around but in the same though I know they can't because they thought they were on the right track. Somehow they missed the key part of why destiny 1 was a success. I guess Im between stages 3 and 5 in grieving for the game that was at one time my passion. If I could say one thing to the dev team and to Luke I would pull up a line graph of the active community population over time and explain the data represented. Then show the same graph using only the players that were present in content drought in D1, lastly I would compare those from the content drought and compare their avg time spent in D2. Then, I would remind them that we are in the first month of this gamed the fact that last week was Iron banner and this week the raid drops so it would be ignorant not to assume the data for the present is even inflated. Lastly, I would look Luke in the eye and say, "Congratulations, you killed it". At which point I would walk out of the room just as disappointed because until now when I got done with my day it was destiny time. Now there is literally nothing to do, no rewards, weapons or incentive. For anyone that argues for hard mode loot being incentive. Its literally the just the same armor with a different color (isn't that what they added shaders for?) no light level boost or anything. I won't even share my thoughts on how they broke light... Apparently they don't get having people online was part of what made D1 good. A lot of those were people getting light up for trials and IB. If nothing else I just wish someone would explain how only having 4v4 in the crucible and nothing else was supposed to be a good thing? -Olive

23 отв.And to top it off, Cozmo made an excuse for the filler loot in the Iron Banner packages that MUST HAVE come from Luke Smith. I can't find the thread it was in, but he went and said that: "Without the filler loot, you'd have all the Iron Banner loot in a day." Ummm... yeah, that's kind of the point. At least with the old vendor system, you could spend those tokens to get the armor you want, and then participate in the IB for, you know, the actual fun of the event. But with all the filler loot, it becomes an incentive to not even try. I turned in in enough IB Tokens to get 12-14 packages so far in the IB. I've received four (4) pieces of IB gear, and more than i care to admit of filler loot trash that was destined for immediate deconstruction because it's seven levels below my current power. It's these kinds of decisions that have convinced me that Luke Smith has zero clue about how to manage this franchise. As you said, OP; why take four (4) years of Feedback and suggestions, then summarily flush them all for D2? I mean; most people were fine with how Destiny turned out at the end of Year 3, why go backwards and reverse ALL OF IT for the start of D2? It makes zero sense, and fully shines a very bright light on Smith's level of pure disconnect from what the Player's are looking for in D2.

5 отв.Изменено (Gibs): 10/16/2017 3:24:15 AMThey failed to add enough end game content, fast forwarded the campaign and levelling process, removed the item hunt almost entirely, duplicated too many items from the previous game without adding enough new stuff, removed any semblance of skill trees, Exotics (legendary) are mediocre, balanced the game for PVP at the expense of PVE and probably as a combination of the above removed any sense of connection with your character (i.e you feel as generic as everyone around you). That will pretty much kill any RPG /Hybrid RPG game if you ask me The way they fix the game (probably impossible though) - Implement real skill trees, real choices to customise your character - Bring back the item hunt and reason for playing ongoing - Add more end game content (even if its simply the same stuff but more challenging) - Triple the number of Exotics and buff the crap ones - Stop worrying about PVP gear balance so much. Or if you do, have a separate system for PVE.

1 ответLuke Smith - "hey lets make shaders consumable" Intelligent Bungie employee - "that's going to make everyone who played Destiny angry" "Why would you do that?" Luke Smith - "Money" "oh and you're fired, we don't need those kind of ideas at Activis... I mean Bungie"

2 отв.Изменено (SmashvilleViking): 10/19/2017 11:32:57 AMBungie most certainly listened to feedback. That's why D2 is in the current state that it's in. People bitched and complained all through D1, and now, we're dealing with it. Edit: Where are these other "mature and logical" posts that you made? I went through your history, and didn't see them.

He needs to be put back to creating raids and left there. Problem solved

5 отв.no one asked for this weapon system and I miss having a sniper and a machine gun ALSO I MISS MACHINE GUNS 😭😭😭

Let's see you design a better game then idiot.

18 отв.This is uncalled for. Personal attacks on Luke Smith or anyone else (with the exception of Donald Trump) are dumb! Get over it. It's just a game. I'm sure they will address the issues either in dlc or before. And if they don't, find something else to play!!!

4 отв.Do people realize that he is a writer not a video game developer?

2 отв.Imagine if Cozmo of Deej actually replied to this, I have passed your feedback onto Activision/Bungie CEO. We are listening to your voices guardians, stay good to each other.

1 ответWhy do I even bother playing this game. All I do is play PvP and constantly get mad.
-
OMG BUNGO UR GM SUX I'M BORED GIMME CONTENT!!! Is not mature and logical feedback. But that's what you see on the forums.
-
Maybe bungie back up a brinks truck to Jeff's house & steal him from blizzard...I love destiny played it long after the masses gave up but it truly bums me out that they took nothing they learned from 3 years of d1....
-
3 отв.He know exactly what he is doing. He knows he is driving Destiny into the ground. He is just trying to please Activision with sales goals. Bungie has turned on the heart of the community to serve the mass. This works for sales, but it will not keep the game going in the long run.

1 ответWhy can I not upvote this enough?

1 ответSpeaking of EA, did you see they shut down Visceral and have moved the Star Wars game elsewhere? Apparently theres no money in adventure games you play once :(

Your just mad because Luke joined the dark side.

FINISH HIM!!!
