No Ranked... really?

I'm not going to hammer home all of the negative points about this game that everyone else is even though I want to. Good job guys, Destiny 2 is a hot pile of garbage. This post is dedicated to talking about a design choice that should have been super obvious, from day 1, of designing Destiny 1: ranked PvP. The fact that not only did ranked not make it into Destiny 2, but they dumbed down the playlists, is hilariously bad game design. You can't even choose what mode you want to play, but I digress. No ranked mode = PvPers fleeing the game, and there is seemingly no reason to not include it. What game in 2017 launches without a competitive playlist? Seriously. Think about an FPS that has come out recently with no ranking system or even a leaderboard. You can't, right? Can you think of a game that still runs on a P2P network in 2017 (embarrassing), had time to develop a complex micro transaction system, but couldn't just create a ranked playlist? If you thought of Destiny 2, you were right! Destiny 2 lacks many standard features that most FPS games come with. I don't get it. So many things went wrong with this game that it's almost like Bungie intentionally sabotaged it. Competitive PvP is most of the reason people play FPS' to begin with, almost every FPS that has a multiplayer mode has a ranked mode, except for Destiny 2. Why? Where's the logic? I don't understand how this happens. Bungie employee 1: "I wonder if PvPers like to compete, think a ranked playlist would be fun for them?" Bungie employee 2: "Nah, lets invest our time into shaders and a microtransaction store, with RNG cosmetic loot drops so they buy more if they fail to get their desired gear. That's what players, especially the PvPers, really want" Bungie employee 1: "Are you sure they don't want a simple playlist that drops them up and down in standings based on whether or not they win? Doesn't seem like it would be hard to implement" Bungie employee 2: "No, they definitely want expensive RNG cosmetics" The hypothetical conversation is baffling. It's going to be funny when around Christmas time all the fanboys come out and praise Bungie for allowing them to pick their Crucible mode like it's something new. "Omg, thanks Bungie, you're the best!" Just like they ate up the scraps of content Bungie threw them in Destiny 1. What kind of butt-backwards company makes these kinds of design choices? How does this happen? Can anyone explain to me what happened to Bungie?
