The problem isn't the SC nerf, it's that the new subclass system traps you into using SC if you want extended grenades and super area of effect. It ends up being a large nerf compared to what it could have been.

Call it a nerf if you like, I can see your viewpoint. I'd like to look at it more as it becoming less deadly in Crucible, which is fine, but a much more integral and build-centric attack. It encourages a specific style of striker play, but doesn't allow the ability to be used as a shotgun replacement. I will be playing around with it in beta to see how the changes affected it, and what the benefits are.

It is clearly a nerf, but it was one needed since Vanilla launch. However, it's my primary example of why I hate the new class system. I don't shoulder charge. But I do aftershock. Now I have sacrifice throw away perks in my subclass in order to get the other perks I want.
