What do you mean? There are people out there that prefer to use keyboard and mouse over a controller w/o having to use a PC. It's personal preference imo.

Изменено (SeneschalGrigori): 6/7/2017 3:32:15 PMI know that, I do as well (been using these adapters since Xbox/Playstation days, so around 2001) But putting this up here when the sheer mention of XIM brings out seething rage just seems like someone put this up with the sheer intent of rustling jimmies

No def not. I put this up to allow people to know there options that's all. I mean unless you are in a group chat no one knows if you are using a keyboard/mouse combo and assume it's a controller.

Honestly though, you can actually tell by watching some of the gameplay, the movements of the controller & kb/m can be quite noticeable if you know what you are looking for. There are quite a few youtuber videos I've seen that look like they are blatantly using a KB/M that vehemently deny it. One even took it as far as banning people on his stream for stating it looks like he's using one & tried he tried prove it by streaming with a video of his hands, which while doing so played blatantly worse than when he's NOT showing his hands and the movements were also different.

As for the other guy well it shouldn't even matter what other people think. It's NOT cheating otherwise both Sony and Microsoft wouldn't allow it and they do. You play how you like, period. No one can tell you how to play a game that you like.

Bungie bans the use of adapters to use different hardware. You need a xim device or whatever it is to bypass the block on keyboard and mouse to play Destiny using KbM. It is cheating, do whatever you want but don't try to make it seem legit when it is in fact cheating. Q: What behavior can lead Bungie to apply account restrictions or bans to a player? A: Bungie regards the following behavior to be in breach of the license agreement that governs Destiny, and therefore potentially subject to access restrictions. taken from https://www.bungie.net/en/Help/Article/11929 This behavior includes: Connecting to the Destiny game service with any of the following: Modified game software Modified game assets Modified console hardware Modified console firmware Using an external program to modify the operation of the Destiny game software (trainer or mod). Using an external program or device to automate gameplay or circumvent idle detection. Modification or interruption of Destiny network traffic with intent to disrupt other players’ experiences, or to gain an advantage in the game. Intentionally deriving gameplay benefit from another user’s behavior in the above categories. Unauthorized access to Destiny software or downloadable content (game piracy). Impersonating a Bungie, Microsoft, Sony, or Activision employee. Don't tell people it's not cheating when it is, not only is it a lie, but you put them in danger of banned.

So, using an officially licensed Sony M&KB is cheating? Which rule is being broken exactly?

Изменено (SeneschalGrigori): 6/7/2017 3:48:31 PM
Lol an easy fix to this is to get a quieter keyboard or turn your mic down.
I'm not replacing all the keys in my Orbweaver. It's really not that important to me TBH, i just find it amusing :) I'm most certainly not going to use an actual keyboard though.
It's NOT cheating otherwise both Sony and Microsoft wouldn't allow it and they do.
Microsoft actually stated long ago that they are OK with XIM, but you may be banned from the Devs of said game. So MS themselves won't ban for it. Sony has said nothing about it, but do have their own adapter for it which pretty much says more than enough about how they feel about a KB/M adapter. Either way, there really is no concrete way of proving someone is using the adapter aside from them admitting it.
As for the other guy well it shouldn't even matter what other people think.
I agree with you, but I guarantee that if a few of the "elite" people that people talk about having great skill in various games was found to be using a KB/M against a bunch of people with controllers their followers would evaporate.
