(Opinion) Do you think special weapons need to be re-evaluated for the Crucible?
I made this video talking about fixing the current situation with special weapons, specifically shotguns. I DON'T want anything nerfed or buffed, but just tweaked enough to allow primaries to make a comeback. After receiving my first Matador for year 3, I decided to see what makes this weapon more preferable over the other specials in the Crucible.
I'm open to honest opinions, and please make this a fair discussion. If you're just here to bash on those who have always had a problem with specials, whatever class of weapon it may be, then turn away now. This is an open discussion to address the elephant(s) in the room.
Arguments should be open to everyone. Play nice, and enjoy what I have to say about the current state of special weapons.

In my opinion the issue with shotguns is the fact that it is a instant oneshot kill to the body. (If in range). That sort of thing should only be reserved for heavies and supers. What I would do is reduce the damage and increase the range of all shotguns by 25%, except chaparone and lord of wolves. Chaparone I would only reduce the damage by 10% and increase range by 25%. Lord of wolves I would still reduce damage by 25% but increase range by 3x. In all honesty range was never the issue with shotguns, it was the instant one shot kill that was.

2 отв.No matter what a certain weapon or archetype will always be king. Specials are stronger than primaries right now so people hate specials, specifically shotguns. If primaries are buffed people will just find a new gun to hate on.

Nah, I think it shotguns just need to be address. No more Range Finder/Rifled barrel should be obtainable on shotgun archetypes like the Matador, either in combination or altogether. It's fine for lower-ranged shotguns though. But, not all special weapons in general. Run around with any other special weapon, you still won't get as much kills as a shotgunner

2 отв.Those guys in that clip were either half life when you shot them with it or just played badly. Take a closer look. I'm not saying matador isn't op, I'm just saying theres nothing wrong with the clip. You rushed them at the right time with a shotgun. Really that second hunter that ran infront of you should of seen you and shot you. He ran right behind the guy you was about to shoot anyway. The only guy you kill with full life was the guy that you barrol stuffed. The guy after that took a matador to the face at close range before you finished him with prime. Tbh it's primaries that need a buff to counter a shotgun rusher. Shotguns are meant to rip people apart at the ranges you see in the video. All of them was close range and some enemies was damaged. If shotguns don't OHK, ever, then they will never get used. Then it will be back to everyone using snipers and the meta starts again. I wouldn't mind that meta tbh. I love snipers, but the meta is just shotguns, so I'm using a shotgun, lol.

3 отв.Have special ammo only drop once per match at the same time as heavy. In opposite corner of map. No ammo regeneration or ammo on respawn, e.g. sidearms.

6 отв.The only Fusion rifle I have been getting killed by is Saladins Vigil, No Telesto, or 77 Wizard, or Stellar Vestige . QBB, people see oh it's a sniper. But after learning you gotta charge and aim a certain direction they give up. I have those mentioned. Except Saladins.

1 ответThe biggest issue I have with pvp is no matter changes occur, the same few weapons will always be used. For a great like destiny, all the awesome guns this game has, the work involved in getting those weapons and the achievement you felt when you shot that weapon for the first time, none of that matters in crucible. That's a big big downer, terrible execution for weapon balance..
