Cabal and what they are running from
So I may make a theory about this later, but due to time restraints I thought i would just bring it up in a quick discussion post. In the first Cabal card, the ghost analyzing them sees that they fear something out there that we don't know about.
The discussion I propose is what this is. Some say it may have been the taken. Some say it's something new. If you have any ideas, post below.

5 отв.I'm conflicted if they're running from the Hive or not. On one hand, they are completely geared out to fight the Hive. They have solar shields, the damage type that the Hive do not do. All of their weapons are solar, the shield type that the Hive have. They have splash damage/high rate of fire weapons to deal with hoards of Thrall. Phalanx shields are very effective against swords. It's as if they're specialized to fight them. Then again, the Cabal were able to infiltrate the Dreadnaught and survive there for a while. They didn't send the bulk of their forces; in fact, they barely sent any of it. If the Hive and the Taken King were forcing the mighty Cabal to retreat, I would think that they would use more of their forces to attempt to eliminate the all powerful leader terrorizing them.

Honestly? Its most likely one of oryx's sisters. They are still out there and possibly more powerful even than him. And im sure they have felt his death

3 отв.Everyone seems to say they are running from oryx but oryx has been hunting the traveler, so he can't be hunting cabal, I don't think they're running from anything. They are an empire and just want to conquer as much as they can

Well it's not the Hive or Taken because we know they hadn't encountered them before entering our system. We know they hav both an odd fascination and a constant war with the Vex as if they hav been enemies for awhile, so that's a possibility. It's obviously not Fallen though. No guarantee that they're running, although Cabal 1 and one of the others do suggest they are afraid and running, so I also believe that may be the case. So I'd say Vex or something unknown to us. It is evident that the Cabal Emperor really wants them to expand and to eliminate threats while also trying to learn from enemies
