I have a day one ps3 and there is barley enough room on my hardrive for just destiny and nothing else as it is. There is no room to add this dlc so this may be one of the factors in their decision.

Honestly they should have done this with Taken King. Getting rid of last gen might make it possible to add more things that last gem couldn't handle.

What a lot of people fail to realize is the current gens will be in the same position when the next gens come out in 5-7 years. Then we will be hearing the same thing all over again. Electronics need to constantly replaced. I doubt many people are still walking around with ten year old cell phones, which most of today's phones are double the price of the PS4 or XBox one.
