How do you feel about no K/D ratio stat in Overwatch?
I'm really enjoying Overwatch, but honestly miss a K/D ratio stat. It has always been a good way of gauging that I'm improving as a player.
I've heard the argument that no K/D stat will encourage players to play the objective. I'm not seeing it, people still go, do their own thing while completely ignoring the objective.
Feel blizzard need to add a mode in the future that's about kills, implement a K/D ratio stat.
Checking stats that only show deaths is rubbing me the wrong way, why didn't they remove the death stat?
How do guys feel about no K/D stat? I rarely even check stats in Overwatch.
Edit: People have pointed out that certain characters aren't meant to kill. My solution is a more in depth stat tracker. An offensive character has K/D ratio. Support has DB/D ratio, DB = Damage blocked. Healers have Heal/death ratio etc.
This will only help people realise what roll they're most effective at playing. I'm forced to play support/healer during matchmaking, because everyone wants to play offensive, they think they're doing good when even assists count as eliminations.
The stat tracker needs work, should be more in depth. Blizzard need to find a way to highlight what characters fit a persons play style.
Edit 2: It's all good guys, found a site that tracks your K/D ratio, lots of other in depth stats. I'm 252 best hanzo in the world. 😀😄

2 отв.You realize you don't exactly get 'kills' in this game right? If you put shots in and someone finishes him off you still get the elimination credit. 6 people can get a kill off one death (be hard to do but you get my point). I put up 20+ with lucio quite a bit. Without a whole lot, if any, 100% eliminations. That's why there's no kd.

The system they have now with the eliminations and healing taking into account the percentage of damage you deal/heal, the amount of objective participation you are putting in and then adding that to your "fire" bar. If you are doing well everyone will be able to see your on fire by looking at the scoreboard. This is plenty because there is a stat that tracks your average amount of time per round spent on fire. You this as your dick-measuring contest if you need a stat to compare.

Though I don't care much for it being in the actual game. Though I would never want a straight up deathmatch gamemode, it would make so many heroes irrelevant, and could never be balanced without restricting heroes and areas. The game also needs more complex spawns for it to be a thing, because the spawn zones are just easy camping areas.

5 отв.KDR only exist to give bragging rights to the casual audience. Thats why you won't see it on MMO because going 40/0 doesn't tell anyone you know how to play your class especially when ever assist count as kill. In fact, when Kill Stealing is a thing, it makes KDR pointless overall.

8 отв.KD is the last thing I want in Overwatch. If I have learned anything from Destiny it is that KD is only used to make someone feel bad about themself. Anytime there was a discussion about Balance KD was apparently the justification of someone's opinion and many people would attack players for not having a stellar KD. I want discussions about Overwatch to be constructive and friendly. No accessible KD stat will make that a little bit more attainable.

Considering that some characters aren't designed for killing, a K/D stat would not correctly represent the skill of people who play such characters often. A competitive (ranked) playlist is supposedly coming later. That should satisfy people who want more focused, hardcore game. Quickplay doesn't need K/D tracking.

1 ответIt shouldn't have that. Gamers tend to obsess over that number too much. If i'd want to have a good k/d, why would i ever pick Mercy for example. Introducing it would just ruin it.

1 ответKills do mean something but not as much as they do in other games. You can keep killing the enemy team but if they are actually playing the objective and not worrying about going 20-0 they will come out on top more than 80% of the time.

1 ответIt's more of a team based game, and when someone goes off and tries to rack up kills it often hurts the rest of the team. It makes sense to not include it, but I wouldn't really mind either way.

4 отв.K/d doesn't matter. Objectives and winning are the point of the game. Getting more kills than deaths doesn't mean you are improving in any way. I'm glad it doesn't have it, most games should do this. All it does is create unnecessary competition and frustration. Not having a k/d is basically just telling you to have fun.
