I would like to discuss this with those who think it could, should, or shouldn't be done in the first place. I would love all of the possible feedback. Thank you for commenting!

Yes. I wasn't even aware of the current level cap until I got to level 34 yesterday evening. At first I thought it was a glitch or a bug, so I came here. I find it extremely unfair to me, as well as to other players who don't or can't buy the new dlc (which is quite overpriced). Before, during year 1, I was able to use exotics, legendaries, and Rares altogether. And now, I find out that I can't even get to the level necessary to find legendary gear? That's honestly pretty pathetic. I love destiny and I love playing the game, but suspending all of those who don't buy ONE DLC at a low level? That's pretty low. I'm not asking to get TTK rewards or strikes or anything like that. I just want to be able to do now what I could then.

Does anyone need year 2 gear to complete year 1 activities? No. Why would any company give people part of a product they haven't paid for?
-
I sure hope not. You -blam!-ing scrubs got enough for free

Yes they should. They should be able to buy vendor weapons and armor and partake in Trials of Osiris but their rewards should be suspended until TTK is purchased. If I were a businessman that's what I'd do. I see no harm in this small incentive to continue a relationship with an avid player who's hesitant to expand their experience. Nor do I see an ill effect towards those who've already paid for TTK. It must be confined and conditional otherwise no.

I paid my share. They need to pay theirs.

No, maybe if you actually buy the content like everyone else then yeah you will get rewarded.
