My First Trials Run

Well, this isn't a complaint or balance thread, and there aren't any useful tips in here either. If that's what you came for, you're more than welcome to leave. See, last night I decided to man up and embark on my first Trials of Osiris run. Using LFG (something I was hesitant about) I posted myself as "an okay PvP player who's willing to leave if I'm not being useful." So yay for self confidence. I got matched up with a fireteam of two and we set off. I, of course, was filled with dread, mentally tallying up how many times I'd get quickscoped. The first game started off and I was actually on the verge of leaving. They weren't happy for some reason, and we got steamrolled. All of a sudden I hear "does he have a mic?" Turns out, my mic had been muted the whole time. Round 3 starts up and we flatten the opposition. I even manage to bag a triple kill with my Eyasluna during our 4th (and subsequent comeback) run. All in all we did pretty darn well last night. Sure, we only managed to scrape a five win card out of it, but you know what? I think I genuinely had fun doing it. No one raged, I never felt salt towards any of the weapons used (and there were plenty of Conspiracy Theory D's and 1000 Yard Stares), and overall, I found myself interested in a game mode I would never have considered myself involved in. Moral of this story? Destiny's just a game. The last few weeks, especially as I finished Shaxx's quest, that line started to blur and everything pissed me off. Don't sweat little things like that. Trials is fun. Competitive? Absolutely. But fun nonetheless. And I'm glad I finally took the chance to realize that.
