Then that would render burn useless. Please stop trying to meld the game into your liking because it's evident enough that you're simply trying to do away with something that works. This post was simply fueled by disappointment from a lost match i presume. Don't speak for us either, not everyone believes DoT has no place in PvP.

But...... DoT has no place in a PvP that labels itself as "competitive".

Okay now you're completely dismissing the topic at hand here lol. Don't speak for us. That's you're opinion not ours.

Изменено (Benzene21): 1/18/2016 6:24:38 PMAnother one here that can't read. It won't be useless because it wouldn't be removed from the game, genius. It will still do damage and create a distraction for the player that is trying to stop it. And I never said everybody thinks DoT has no place in this game.

Изменено (Halcyon): 1/18/2016 6:33:33 PM
Thorn. Grenades. Melees. I agree that DoT has no place in PvP if there is no way to stop it.
Typed up plain as day right here kid. To say that "you agree that DoT serves no place in PvP" is implying that everyone thinks this. There shouldn't be a way to stop it because then it would be rendered useless. Even burn perks would serve no purpose. Shake the damn controller to nullify a burn? That's borderline removing burn from the game mode. No thanks. But of course one's opinion is that of their own, i just don't happen to agree with yours.

Изменено (Benzene21): 1/18/2016 8:01:40 PMThere is no way that statement is implying what you are saying. It wouldn't be useless because it can still do damage and kill you. You are just given an option to prevent that, but who's to say that you will always be successful? What if your health was so low that you didn't have time to stop it before you die? What if you get killed by someone because you couldn't aim, shoot and defend yourself since you are shaking the controller?
-
Think outside the box sir, other than just how something like this will benefit you. Imagine locking eyes with a Hunter at full health and through quick reflex you thrust forth your burn grenade hoping to get the bastard to half health at the most. The unfortunate Hunter would simply shade-step out of harm's way "shake the controller" and flee before you rain down an entire magazine to finish the swine off. You could have had that kill. And what of burn perks? You completely missed that bit of mine. What is to become of them? Longer burn durations? What would be the point? Don't forget that PvP will never undergo tweaking without it affecting PvE because Bungivision can't seem to grasp the concept of keeping them separate. God forbid they actually did do something like this and they removed burn duration perks. That would take a number on PvE.

Изменено (Benzene21): 1/18/2016 8:26:20 PMEasy. The shaking of controller doesn't work if you sprint or shadestep. There. Burn perks would still work. In this case the players need to shake the controller longer if there is more burning time. And I really don't get it anyway. You will STILL burn!
-
So one's evasive maneuverability is to be mitigated because of an outstanding burn? That's a bit restrictive don't you think? What if a rocket was flying at godspeed across the map, headed straight for your face and you saw it coming, you could have dodged it. There's just not a good enough reason to borderline nullify a burn ability's core feature like that. Simply flee the premises if you're burning. Why stand there and get shredded by bullets knowing you're inflicted with a burn? Go with a full recovery stat build and watch that health come back to you in a jiff. And yet again you dismissed my bit about the possible outcome of burn perks. I get your point sir it's a good idea but i don't see it sitting will with a lot of people, but i digress it is still just an idea.

Изменено (Benzene21): 1/18/2016 8:49:12 PMI did say something about the burn perks. Um you can still use shadestep, but if you do, you will still burn. Isn't that how it is now? You still burn even when you sprint, jump, etc. and you miss the point btw. Obviously, you should run away when you are burning. Thing is, you can still die by it because the burning does not stop, which is the point of this thread! Also, if you are burning in a gunfight, it's not really easy to run away because your opponent won't stop shooting! So yeah, running away doesn't always work. The shaking of the controller would only really be useful after you kill your opponent. In a gunfight you don't want to do that. I just think it's wrong that you still die even after you kill your opponent.
-
If they still burn then what's the point of shaking the controller!? If they need to shake it longer then by the time the burn dissipates the burn time would have already ran it's course. I don't see them wasting their time working on something like this when there are clearly more important issues at hand with the game right now. Again it's a good idea but i don't agree with it. Sorry...
-
You wouldn't shake when it doesn't work, like when you sprint. The problem I see here is that you can still die even after you kill your opponent. Regarding longer burning time, they would need to shake longer because the burn is longer. Not sure I get your point about these burn perks. Actually, this help solve some of the balance problems we have in PvP. As I said in the original thread, some grenades and melees have ridiculous DoT. There is no balance when you still burn for 3+ seconds after you kill your opponent.

Изменено (Halcyon): 1/18/2016 11:03:52 PMOf course you're going to die after you killed you're opponent if you're inflicted with a burn because, you're burning. If you lost the amount of health to net you a death because the burn was still ticking, that's simply because you took too many shots and your victim killed you with a well thrown grenade or a well struck melee that simply sapped the rest of your health; it happens. Same shit goes for Thorn. All i know is that DoT shouldn't be touched because DoT is a perfectly valid form of an offensive tactic. If you die from DoT simply respawn and flee from any immediate danger when you're inflicted with a burn. Anyways i'll be off now, see you around!
