Shadestep can't set off detection grenades and is also immune to area effects that are present while shadestepping through it. Similar to Blink, sticky grenades cannot attach itself while invisible.
The Garrison works differently as it triggers detection grenades and is not immune to area effects. Furthermore, sticky grenades can still be attached while air dodging.
They are both evasion techniques but shadestep is better overall. However, if you want a separation of class then your shit out of luck. Because everything is pretty diverse now. The only thing that needs a change to really even out the game is the Nightstalkers super. The kill percentage and overall kill count in PvP are well above year 1 figures and its only been 4 months since TtK.

Sticky grenades do stick when opponent is invisible, do it all the time...

Not while in transition. I've done this plenty of time when a sticky comes my way. If timed poorly then it would attach after the transition or before transition. It works the same as Blink. The sticky grenade will either bounce off the invisible Nightstalker or continue in its linear trajectory onto the ground or wall. I'm not complaining, I abuse all the time. Especially to have a better view over obstructions. It's the new Blink Shotgun.

While in transition? Is that when the actual move time as in, blink, move end blink? Then no you can't you're right about that (although it would be pretty cool to pull off) sorry dude i just thought that you meant general invisibility my bad :-)

No worries. I look at as the counter to stickies because almost everything in this game can be countered.
