Just watched Gothalions video on SRL (https://youtu.be/AserfI8lmBU) and he talks about the good and the bad in SRL. What do you guys think about racing in an FPS, and why do you like it or dislike it. Also, what would you change about it. Keep or Scrap?.... I personally think it's fun but only when I am playing with friends. I would like new maps, better rewards like sparrows (not gear since that drops already) I don't think 5 bucks for a sparrow is worth it. Let me know what you guys think.

Keep it and add more tracks
-
Keep 1 320 doesn't help when u have multiple characters
-
It's painfully boring but I am rank 3.75 so I've done way too much. Got 20 helmets for infusion so that's a plus. Not so many marks over 315 though. Maybe 5. Helmet to mark/cloak/bond ratio should be tweaked just a tiny bit All in all? I'd say keep it. Also, once you hit rank 3 you should let others win. I do it every race. I find good rewards coming in 3rd or 4th. It seems coming in 6th hurts ur rewards but I could be wrong

It's ok and all but extremely boring.

How about making real content free of micro transactions.

Изменено (Jibunnokage): 12/22/2015 6:54:25 PMAnything that improves the scope and scale of Destiny... keep. I enjoy the change of pace. I will, or so I believe, never buy optional stuff, especially when same is possible from game, if playing routinely. I don't get the value of the record book at all. However, the minute Bungie makes something core to the game, purchase only? I am gone, that will be the end of my exploration in the Light. Sparrow racing has a lot of potential, for example, solo races just against the clock, crash derby, relays, and more. Bungie can implement more tracks with very minor effort. Now, do question why PvP keeps getting the lion share of new content, yes, I do, but I also see the reality of that, given the cost model of such is so different, less than story, PvE content. I think Destiny needs a random PvE engine so bad it is painfully obvious. Random enemies on a random map, I mean a true dynamic engine, maybe something like the PoE but you never really know what or where you will be? I can't believe a random map generator can't be added to Destiny? Or Player submitted maps even? Why not an elimination race mode? One crash and you are done. Miss to many gates and you are done. Fail to take out enough enemies, and you are done? What about cat and mouse, where on racer is the mouse and first racer to catch the mouse wins? One really cool idea is to have all racers on the same side, same team, where they have to coordinate to be successful, but have the opposing team be players not just Taken, Fallen, Vex, etc. That gets loot and rewards for taking out a racer. I would to be a Guardian on the rocks or in a cave tunnel, trying to shot down racers! Come on, for those of us that work really hard to win a race, the fun of shooting down a racer? As a form of revenge, yes? Oh, yes! Just image Gally horn rockets chasing a racer? Maybe a bit evil? Maybe a lot of fun! Also, remove the long grind, it is too long, even longer than Crucible, at least from my experience. Frankly, rank totals are just not fair when rep per race is so low, if you average only 45 points per race, which is my experience so far, 4500 is 100 races, never mind what I had to do for rank 1, 2, etc... I for one never got a class item until was only 1000 points away from rank 3... I have yet to get S class license, I struggle to get 1st place in any race. Yes, I am not that good at racing, such is life, but many people just don't have the time to spend hours and hours of time to play Destiny. At least the Iron Banana you can rank up faster, but SRL... it is horrible the grind for those of us not gifted with reflexes unique to racing and consistently winning, even though I like SRL, I will never be top tier... just not my talent set.

Scrap. Put time into an actual PVE event.
-
I would rather pay money for a cheap expansion than receive a racing game mode for 3 weeks for free* *by free I mean all the money that we spend on micro transactions

Изменено (Swiftlock): 12/22/2015 6:45:39 PMI am really, REALLY sick of almost every single event revolving around PvP competition. The original Queen's Wrath event had a lot of problems, but it was still exciting nonetheless in that we could actually play PvE and get pre-determined prizes instead of relying mostly on RNG for once.
-
Keep no matter what, unless it's taking space from something better. I don't even do it much but it's a nice change of pace here and there.

One way to improve SRL is to consider adding super gates alongside the speed gates. These would charge charge your super ability that you could use to drastically change the flow of a race. This could add a combat element to the racing and force a choice between aiming for a speed gate and aiming for a super gate. The only way to get both a super gate and a speed gate would be if you were in last place and they were both expanded to overlap. (Obviously the controls would need a little tweaking to free up the super buttons, but I think it's possible). This could also open up new types of SRL events: Mayhem, Death-match (with no respawns), Team Death-match, etc. Examples: Gunslinger-- Fire the golden gun at those ahead of him. Bladedancer-- Arc blades coming from the side of the sparrow, to ram those beside him. Nightstalker-- Leave void traps to slow opponents. Voidwalker-- Fire a spread of nova bombs. Sunsinger-- Leave a trail of fire (like tron). Stormcaller-- An arc storm surrounds him, damaging those inside. Striker-- Sparrow leaps forward and causes a pulse of arc damage when it lands. Defender-- Deploy a bubble that knocks other sparrows out of the way and shields the wielder. Sunbreaker-- Throw hammers at opponents, leaving damaging sunspots.

Keep with new maps. Need sparrows with guns and armor. 6x6 like a crucible.
-
Keep. But make it similar to maybe 1 wk a month. Also, maybe switching the rewards to a different armor pc with light level to max 320, as it was only helmets and class item. It would entice people to play who don't care for trials or raiding, or don't care to search for a raid or trials team.

Изменено (minelord01): 12/22/2015 6:35:12 PMKeep, but improve upon greatly
-
Depends what they add. To keep it they need to add a ton more maps for variety. They really should add weapons or incorporate supers. If those don't happen, then it should be scrapped. It's super boring and the only reason I played it, was to get the 320 gear. But to be honest it's way too easy to get that 320 in SRL. The 320 gear is the only reason to actually grind SRL, but SRL shouldn't give max level gear.
-
Keep. No point in scrapping it, it gives a good break to the grind.
-
Keep it. Add 3 more tracks. Make it a quarterly event. Once every 3 months.
-
Bring it back with a reasonable loot table (i.e. Don't allow people to farm max light gear) Nobody will play it. They literally had to make it more rewarding than any other activity to get people to play.
-
-
-
Keep it as long as it's put in the rotation like IB but for a week only. Three weeks is way too long for this event with only two tracks.
-
Keep. It needs more tracks for sure. Maybe some quests where we scout out locations and clear out the enemies or something beforehand.
-
Keep it. Add more tracks Add ways to get sparrows other than once per account for doing the quests, or microtransactions. Perhaps, chance on rank up.
-

Agree with op more tracks get rid of the stupid gates and then people can use skill to win.
