I'm legitimately interested in how people would finish this sentence. So go ahead, give it your best shot.
The reality is that a new player skipping the early levels has exactly zero effect on your experience. Happy to be proven wrong on that but seriously doubt I will be.
Edit: Not surprisingly no one has been able to finish the sentence in a coherent way. At least in negative terms. A couple people have pointed out that it might affect them in a positive way. The Negative Nellies have two broad responses, both of which fail.
The question is how does THIS ITEM effect YOU.
All the Negative Nellies either say:
1. This item doesn't effect me but AN IMAGINARY FUTURE ITEM will effect ME. (Fail for introducing an imaginary item).
2. THIS ITEM doesn't effect me but it effects AN IMAGINARY PERSON. (Fail for introducing an imaginary person).
They really can't come up with a way that THIS ITEM effect THEM.
Edit 2: Oh! There's a new category of answer!
3. Because I leveled up the normal way THIS ITEM makes ME feel betrayed.
I guess it gets points for playing by the rules but it's just so sad. It's just too pathetic to actually merit a response.
Last Edit: It's nice that this got trending and that so many people appreciate that yeah, the buff has no effect on existing player. The sheer number of people unable to actually articulate a problem but just whining anyway is a bit depressing but what can you do?

It may mean bungie introduces more content that needs to be paid for
-
4 отв.I find it stupid since we got a free spark of light to jump to lvl 28, why now turn around and go hey for a stupid amount of $$ u can go to level 25 whats the point of that???
-
...the money they pay goes towards new events/content which I will play It will save them about 1 week of grinding but they will lose out because they won't learn the game mechanics. No loss to me
-
It affects me in no way. If some one wants to pay to get to 25 fine, it's not my money.
-
I think it's funny how bungie know that they made a bad game, so they give you the option to skip the worst part
-
36 отв.New players buying there way to level 25 effects me because... It will ruin the overall skill levels of future raids and high tier events and the pool of players average skill level will decrease and us vets will have to deal with shittier fire teams. With the abundance of veterans hanging up there mantels in pursuits of other games we left behind will have to turn to the new generation. This new generation will be filled with those who don't know a challenge outright because they were high enough level to skip the vanilla story, wich most consider a good tutorial on tactics concerning every type of enemy arch type that the player faces in the future, most will have an ingrained idea that you can easily gun your way through everything because of this, instead of adapting or even trying to learn tactics on the new bosses that are veering away from the normal bullet sponge form we had year one. We all have met the kind of player I'm talking about, them dieing more often then you can run over and Rez them, the one that questions why they die so much while bashing everyone else as inferior, the difference is that while the ones we know and hate got that way because a veteran player carried them through the story and most other content without actually teaching them how to do it(I'm guilty of this but iv since then corrected my mistakes) however now bungie will be playing the role of the carrier and those who accept will not have the mentor figure to correct them in game from the bad behavior, the game as a whole will suffer due to this as more and more players that rely on LFG will become frustrated and in the worst case scenario quit. All the while as this type of player base grows , bungie, the caterers of those most outspoken, will slowly bring the requirements of endgame content down, taking the enjoyment and challenge from the now smaller and more diehard group. This group will contain the vets who now must watch as the game they love is brought down to levels were only children can have difficulties, looking around you may have already started to notice the difficulty of endgame dropping, be it nightfalls or missions in general. The reason this effects me is because I have to watch as this game loses its diehard fan base and carry on as more and more people lower this games difficulty to pander to casuals who will pick this game up and drop it just as easily. That is how stuff like this, especially pay to level items that are now on sail effect me.
-
It affects me because if people do buy it, then it will inspire bungievision to do something similar, most likely worse, in the future. Also it is a disgusting rip off and I actually feel bad for the kids who buy this (i dont think any adult is foolish enough to buy this).
-
4 отв.It affects me because I was lied to. Bungie said cosmetic items only.

Изменено (Lavient): 12/17/2015 8:35:32 PMSo I've played on PS4 since launch, but I played the beta on 360 before I bought a ps4. So I have the founders seal and sign if the elders on my 360 characters. My 360 has mainly been used as an entertainment device (DVDs, Netflix, etc.) and it crapped out on me this year, so my wife is going to get me an xb1 for xmas. I have 1 lv30 character on Xbox and I am planning on spending some time playing destiny on xb1 for a while for a change of pace. I haven't decided yet, but the lv25+subclass boost sounds like something I'd be interested in because I want to have access to a defender Titan for raiding asap without the grind AGAIN. I am leveling my hunter up legit, and don't really feel like doing it twice since I've already done it so many times. While I think $30 is a bit too much, I can see the value of being able to get a new character close to raid-ready.

Изменено (MAYAN KING 1221): 12/17/2015 8:32:06 PMNew players buying their way to level 25 effects me because now there will be more people to play with even sooner in destiny.

3 отв.Anything you kids do for destiny affects me You guys fund and support a game that will ruin gaming Look at how games are getting more sectioned off. Battlefront is a result of seeing the success destiny had Ultimately this will lead to deteriorated games that we had last year and the year before. More to come, thanks for ruining my kids gaming future
-
People cry about everything. The boost isn't game changing. It lets you jump right into taken King. And play as the spec you want. And people saying its pay to win are dumb as -blam!- cause what if I've been playing for years and finally decide to make that third hunter. And I want to play shadowshot, I would have to get to 25 then begin to level it instead of it being finished.

2 отв.Has anyone seen the recent addition GTA's micro transactions. $99.99 for $8,000,000 in game currency!
-
I think its funny. Bungie is trolling these people basically selling them an item to get past the introduction of the game. If it was an instant 310 light pack. That would be completely different
-
I cant understand why some WANTS to do this, It's a part of The game, and It's fun to level up. I may understand it If it a second or third character and dont want to do it all over again, but then again they may miss out on something (If it is a different class)
-
Because people will buy, and Bungie/Activision will go oooohhhh more.
-
becuase now i get to laugh at level 40s who will say "shotguns are the best"
-
It gives them another revenue stream which hopefully can be translated into free content!!!
-
2 отв.This affects me because it adds new players to the game that will have significantly less experience in the game. And if one of these players gets into a fire team of mine it could extend the time required to beat something significantly. Adding to more play time and hours of frustration to my life. I don't need that. If you can't level up like a normal person you don't deserve it. It could also add people who are still learning a sub class or class during parts of the game that needs experience, practice, and patience. All together ruins my experience, because others decided to skip "the" experience.
-
1 ответIt effects none of the vets in any way shape or form. Just something else for salty forum trolls to complain about.
-
First defenders said, "Microtransactions won't affect the game!" Now they're saying, " Microtransactions won't affect me!"
-
I am not bothered now. I had lots of fun at the start of the game getting to level 25 and i have some great memories. They couldn't give me $30 to take them back from me.
-
1 ответPeople could say "it's a slippery slop" I quote Hank from breaking bad, it has application here... "You're the smartest guy I've ever known, but you're too stupid to realize, he made up his mind 10 minutes ago" BUNGIE/Activistion will eventually let us buy tons of things in the future. We may even be able to buy exotics with real world money. I don't think it will kill the company or game. People will get over it or leave and Destiny will go on. There's just too much of this game built into the lives of its players. It just won't die. No matter what happens.
-
Just reset my hunter couple weeks back, I have the spark of light but didn't use it. Took me a day to get to 28, next day I was 40.... I don't get what people think they're indignant about
-
5 отв.Because it's basically Bungie openly admitting that Destiny Y1 was so -blam!-ing shit they're happy for people to bypass it completely and jump straight into Y2. Whereas there are us Y1 players who had to suffer through all of it, remained loyal and have -blam!- all to show for it.
-
Well i don't know all the details of the refer a friend quest but couldn't skipping to 25 effect that or does the leveling not matter?
