I'm legitimately interested in how people would finish this sentence. So go ahead, give it your best shot.
The reality is that a new player skipping the early levels has exactly zero effect on your experience. Happy to be proven wrong on that but seriously doubt I will be.
Edit: Not surprisingly no one has been able to finish the sentence in a coherent way. At least in negative terms. A couple people have pointed out that it might affect them in a positive way. The Negative Nellies have two broad responses, both of which fail.
The question is how does THIS ITEM effect YOU.
All the Negative Nellies either say:
1. This item doesn't effect me but AN IMAGINARY FUTURE ITEM will effect ME. (Fail for introducing an imaginary item).
2. THIS ITEM doesn't effect me but it effects AN IMAGINARY PERSON. (Fail for introducing an imaginary person).
They really can't come up with a way that THIS ITEM effect THEM.
Edit 2: Oh! There's a new category of answer!
3. Because I leveled up the normal way THIS ITEM makes ME feel betrayed.
I guess it gets points for playing by the rules but it's just so sad. It's just too pathetic to actually merit a response.
Last Edit: It's nice that this got trending and that so many people appreciate that yeah, the buff has no effect on existing player. The sheer number of people unable to actually articulate a problem but just whining anyway is a bit depressing but what can you do?

4 отв.It allows Activision to make more money, which in turn gives them less motivation to make quality content for the loyal fans that still play their game.

Thank you.

8 отв.It affects the time i have invested into this bullshit
-
because Call of Duty
-
5 отв.Because its showing that destiny is slowly inching its way toward paying for gear instead of playing the game to get it. Its the easy way to level up, so of course people are gonna spend money on it. It may not affect all level 40s since they dont need the gear it gives, but its definitely a bit of a red flag. Who knows how far it could go
-
It will do nothing but allow Bungie vision to add more and more microtransactions until it becomes necessary to get these to play the game
-
Because I'm spotty pube less sweaty try hard squeezer with nothing else to moan about?
-
Wow does this, world didn't end. Destiny does this, world still didn't end.
-
because there will be more people playing a game that was starting to feel empty. because I might be able to finish Imprecation if I can 5 of these folks up for a Crucible match. because it's one more person to push me into the fans on Mars so I somehow get stuck on the wall (seriously, it's like a spider web!)

2 отв.I'm confused. These level 25 start ups were given to me but my characters are above 25 already. What's this about buying them?

Изменено (SpakulatorX): 12/18/2015 6:21:20 PMThis item effects me cause I'm a sore loser. BAM IN YOUR FACE Now no one buy it or I'm going to cry. ;-;-;-;-;;-;--;;-;;-;;
-
Because I hate seeing Bungie become rich by selling literally zero effort
-
Im not going to finish your sentence but i do know how to finish it but can anybody else ;)

1 ответIt doesn't directly affect anyone, but if players actually buy this crap then Bungie/Activision is going to get the idea that micro-transactions are a good. They are if you're trying to make money, but not of you want to make a good game. You guys are not looking at the big picture here. I'm not worried about the instant leveling, I'm worried about the door these micro-transactions are opening.

6 отв.Изменено (KitsuneSonow): 12/18/2015 3:45:42 PMSee this is the problem with people who are inexperienced in gaming. They seem to think they know better than others when in reality they actually don't. Do you know why this affects you and every other player? Because Bungie is currently testing the market, and are going to continue to release item after item until the players finally say "That's enough" or "You have gone too far". Want to know how other players and I know this? Because it has happened with other games. Each every time it starts out like this. First, they start with something small (in this case emotes) it seems harmless and you want to think that it won't go any further or get any worse than that, right? Then, they begin to move onto bigger more overpriced things (in this case the level packs). This continues on and on until everything has a price tag on it. Now, every time I have seen this happen in a game guess what follows. Drop rates become worse, the currency of the world becomes more scarce, and the experience you gain is even reduced. This in turn causes three things to happen among players, either they leave the game completely, they continue to grind the day away, pretending nothing is wrong, or you get what are known as "wallet warriors" who will happily dish out any amount of money for anything the game throws their way. It also always starts the same with players as well. First, you defend the these purchases because it doesn't affect you or you just don't care. You think "Oh this can't possibly get worse ,right?", but you are mistaken, because people bought these things and let the company know they could continue on making more absurd things. You defend or ignore what the company does, until finally it's something you really actually care about, then it's an issue and should be stopped, but by that time more people have joined and outnumber you and are soon chanting the same excuses and insults back at you. Now, you have to look at something, and this is why you should be very, VERY concerned with what Bungie is doing and all you have to do is look back when this all started and how they stated that nothing will ever be required to complete a crucible match or clear a raid. Everything falls under that category including: Glimmer, Legendary Marks, Exotics, Ships, Shaders, Emblems, Sparrows, Reputation, Reputation packages, and every event within Destiny. None of the above mentioned falls under "needed to complete a raid or crucible match" category in the slightest as you need none of those things to complete them. They can put a price tag on it all, and when they do (there is no if because people continue to buy these things) suddenly the experience over all in Destiny will become much, much worse for the players. That is why you should be concerned and that is why you should not just brush this off. It has happened in the past and every time it has lead to the same results. But hey...Bungie has shown in the past with Destiny that they just want you to have the best experience right? Never did anything that would make anyone doubt them at all did they? Always the perfect model of a gaming company? Maybe I am wrong to make this judgement.

It doesn't so bring on the kinderguardians.

Yeah, it doesn't affect me personally, at all. It may affect the future of the game and what else may be up for grabs in regards to what players are willing to pay for. But I'm not and won't be affected by it, in my everyday game play. I think players should be able to make choices based upon whichever means (regarding spending time vs. money) best suits them. Some have more money than time to put towards investing in gaming. And some have a lot more time to spare and less money available to them. Making it an individual preference and choice (on things that don't affect others game play) is fine with me...and to each their own. If the micro-transactions eventually lead to pay to win (which this does not), players being able to purchase endgame gear with a click of a button...well, then I could see why many would be concerned. But this doesn't do that and we aren't there yet. But just being able to progress to a lower level that we all can get to rather easily (albeit with a lot of time invested to fully upgrade a sublcass)-- with no extra rewards being dished out-- well, yeah that really has no bearing on my personal game play and I have no problems with it and others choosing to do so. That being said, the price tag is rather ridiculous, for what it yields. But again, to each their own and use whichever commodity you have more of, in order to progress.

my friend just got ttk and boosted a warlock to 25. the ppl i play with and me are happy that he didnt have to start at 1. we've already done vog and crota with him saved us alot of time trying to help him get his game up.

Do new players not get a spark of light? Lol

Micro transactions don't affect me in any way or anybody else. It's just salty poor gamers who want everything but can't afford it. They say "this shows that micro transactions work and now it'll be in every game!" Well guess what it's been happening on PC for over a decade, it's no where close to being a new tactic in games. Are you being forced to buy anything? No. Does buying anything give you an advantage? No. Just a bunch of poor salty whiners.

14 отв.Изменено (Seven): 12/18/2015 3:53:37 PMIf you're still playing a game, investing time in a garbage peer to peer matchmaking based game that cannot be played offline, it's one thing. But if the developer is now going to put a cost on the time of your playing the game? What a cretin you must be to not understand how devalued our interaction with this game has outright become. It affects me because now I'm not only wary of a trash company that used to be pretty great needing to fix a lot of things in their game still, a solid year after release but now in addition I have to worry that they are profiting off of the trash shit content they have already produced...... If you can't understand this, there is no hope for you, just remember: BEAMS CAN'T STEEL FUEL JET MELT

I find it funnier how everyone is getting worked up over this. Like do you really think people are that ignorant these days to not read up on a game that's been out for over a year now? I actually think the new "kinderguardians" coming is going to be less than 5,000. Why does this even matter?
