Edit 5: please read the entire post through before jumping to a response. Thank you!
I'm a day one player. I've been around since the first hour of this game dropping and I'll always have a soft spot for this game in my heart. I'm a die hard gamer. I don't post on the forum much. I'm an observer. I've been around for about 15 years; competitively.
This is by far my favorite game I've ever played. Bungie games I have always been really good at. One thing I am having a lot of trouble with is the general attitude of this community. Collectively, it sucks. Seldom will I ever find a forum post that isn't "nerf this, nerf that, I hate this, bungie does this wrong, bungie does that wrong, we need more of this, we should't have to grind for this."
I am clearly part of the minority. I love this game. This game has been nerfed into oblivion. First you all complained about auto rifles being too OP. Auto rifle nerf, now they suck. Then you cried about the thorn and last word being too OP. Nerfed. Then you complained about shotguns, nerfed and now useless. Just like everything else that has been nerfed. This community is toxic and it's bringing this game down with it.
NOW it's snipers. I have been a sniper from day one. Pretty damned decent one at that. All this talk about aim assist, scope nerfing, rez sniping nerf; it's ridiculous. I try my best every single day to enjoy this game and for the most part, I do. I'm not calling against a nerf here. It's inevitable and I won't fight it. My message is not anti-nerf. My message is this -
I am willing to admit when a team in trials beats my team fair and square because they are simply better than me and my team. They snipe better or work as a team better or are just more tactical. Whatever the reason I don't go running around blaming other people, cheating, lag or the game developers for my own failures.
Quit walking directly into well known sniper lanes. Stop rushing around corners when you know the other person has a shotgun. Work together as a team. Admit when you do something wrong. Don't blame others for everything that goes wrong. Don't have temper tantrums. Learn from your mistakes, make yourself better, and move the fcuk on.
I am so sick and tired of scrolling these forums not seeing a SINGLE shred of constructive criticism or positive energy. It's flooded with prissy little whiners.
Don't like this game? Too bad. Go play fallout, or CoD, or even Battlefront. Destiny is a game better off without the narrow minded anyway.
This game has it's flaws. Just like every game. But I love this game and I am a loyal gamer to the end. I guess that is just not as common as it used to be anymore. This current younger generation is never satisfied, so they whine and cry until they get what they want.
This game needs positive and adaptable minds.
Edit: My point was not to come off as "whining" or the "same as everyone else"
I'm just trying to help people see that there are A.) plenty of other gaming options if you do not like this game. and B.) Solutions to this games problems that can be solved constructively and collectively as a community. There really are strength in numbers, and if we can all get on the same page and REALLY talk about suggestions to make a good game great; ultimately we will prevail.
I do believe Bungie values our feedback, but I feel that it is hard for them to do so when everyone is spewing incoherent babble from their mouths because they're too salty to formulate a coherent thought.
Edit 2: this topic is getting attention. Let's get this up to the top of the trend so we can REALLY start getting this message across. Level headed, constructive minds can retake this forum if we really want it!
Edit 3: keep this topic trending! I work late nights and want to reply to all of you and I will. As soon as I get off work. Keep up the positive and valued feedback. I appreciate all of you.
Edit 4: Wow. Never expected this post to get this big but here we are. Let me clarify a few things for those of you who have chosen to take this entire message completely out of context. This post is NOT about me being upset about sniper rifles possibly being nerfed. Not even relatively. I couldn't possibly care ANY less if the guns get a nerf. One of my favorite things about gaming is the fact that we all constantly have to adapt to changes made in the game whether they are good or bad. If snipers get a nerf, awesome! I'll adapt, learn, and perfect the new system the best way that I can. Not one time during this post did I intend for any of you to think I was "crying about a sniper nerf" I'm not.
My message was and has been all along that we as a community need to really work on positive reinforcement and being productive with our thoughts on how we can make this game great.
Is this my favorite game? Yes. Does that make me biased towards this game? You betcha. Does it make me a pompous narrow minded a**hole that has no regard for what anyone has to say or other people's opinions? Absolutely not.
I'm calling on this community to stand together instead of in little groups, hell bent on one idea and blind to the big picture.
This game and this community needs those that are willing to put bias aside (I would like to think I am one of those people) and work collectively with like-minded individuals towards a better future for this game.
Remember that this is supposedly a ten year project. We all really need to slow our roll and really take some time to think and work together if we have any chance of making an impact.
I apologize to any of you who have taken this post out of context or already have decided I'm not worth listening to. That is your own opinion and you are surely entitled to do whatever you want with said opinion. In all seriousness my intention is only to bring all of us together so we can truly enjoy this game like it is meant to be enjoyed.
Thank you so much for all of your input and feedback. I couldn't be more appreciative at the amount of different perspectives I have been graced with over the last 24 hours.
TL:DR
This is a copy/paste TLDR that I said in another conversation with another member.
It comes down to this.
Like I have stated before, this game is nowhere near perfect. It has its flaws. It needs changing and tweaking. The community as a collective whole can help this process however, we need to find a better way to voice our concerns and suggestions for improvements for this game rather than spew sewage from our mouths.
Think about it like this. Currently this community is a room full of angry citizens that aren't getting the things they want. Think of bungie as the mayor sitting in on this room, trying to listen to the voice of the citizens. How is it going to be possible for the mayor to hear ANYONE in a room full of pissed off screaming people? They can't.
We need to all take a seat, collect our thoughts, share our thoughts with each other, brainstorm said thoughts into a suggested solution and present those solutions to the mayor.
At which point our voice has truly been heard.
Whether or not the mayor decides to do anything with our suggestions is up to the mayor. But if we remain in that room and maintain order; eventually we will ALL come to a common ground. At which point the community and the developers can move forward, together.
This relationship needs to be a two way street. Not a highway and a bike path.

Whining about whining? How ironically un origonal. Toxic comminty is a sign of a dying game dude. Just let it go and play another game, as overlord and general asshole directed you to.
-
In all seriousness though, you are definitely right. People are constantly complaining about how bungie needs to do something for us year one players (I agree) but if you asked them, I bet that they wouldn't have a clue what that extra thing should be. All they wanna do is cry about how bungie hates it's fanbase or whatever.
-
Wha - did - did I just see a post written by a guy who wasn't being a whiny little b*tch about something in Destiny? Wh- do - do those even exist? I - I - I -

2 отв.Do you use lube on bungies dick before you mantle and ride it or do you raw dog it like the little bitch you are?

9 отв.My updated response after reading. You're a fanboy. And that's fine. But it blinds you. And, honestly, that's all there is to say to you op You're someone who can't be swayed by reason or logic, you're quite close minded. If you'd like a civilized discussion then I'm willing to oblige. And explain why this game needs further tuning and maybe not nerfs but definitely some fixing.

Only things that needed nerfs were shanks and psions during nightfalls in year one. Those things were miserable to deal with. Good think I had that rocket from skolas with shank burn on it haha
-
I totally agree. Poor Bungie has been taking their time to find the best way to make the game better. Though I don't disagree that Bungie hasn't been doing much; as a community, we have been moaning about different things since launch. Think about it. For example, if you're working as a waiter to a restaurant and you're taking someone's order and they say, "Hey, a**face, get me a #2 or I'll get your manager!", are you going to be motivated to serve that person? Be patient, Guardians, the staff at Bungie are people just like you and me.

1 ответI agree with you. Suros at its prime would have stood up to the pulses of now. I think the 31 damage per headshot after the first nerf would have help up to red death. Range stat is out of control. Feels like they're trying to make autos smg's, but they come with no benefits a smg would have. Fusions were the most unique gun the game had but no one likes being ohk'd from mid range with a body shot. I don't know how to quell that bc I agree with it. Other then longer charge times and making them a close-medium range weapon that actually is useful in the range autos works at currently. Snipers and scouts have worked great since launch. People blaming aim assist for getting peeled is humorous considering aim assist has been in every other game. People want descoping but forget a reticle gets put on screen in those games. Then you just get no scoped instead of quick scoped. What's the difference? Shotguns, theoretically it seems they will be kinda worthless but we have yet to play the patch. The damage drop off sounds perfect but still locks players into 2 shotgun archetypes so those aren't going anywhere. So in short we need to play the rebalance before commenting. I'm not a huge fan of nerfs but I am a fan of longer ttk's. The hand cannon meta imo was too short. There was no gun battles. Auto rifles main problem in their prime was Suros was wrecking from across the map. Same problem as thorn countering snipers. Now comes the hard on for range values. Personally it seems the majority of the problems created in this game have been on Bungie. Sure the players cry nerf at everything but it's been terrible implementation of adjustments. So instead of adjusting individual weapons they kill off an archetype and promote another one albeit slightly less powerful. Hand cannon meta was a problem with a few weapons. Shotguns has 2 archetype offenders, auto rifles it was the high impact and / or glass half full perk archetypes. So really I think the rest of primaries should be on par with pulse ttk's. Autos should rival pulses in medium/short range. No pulse should be a long range weapon. Hand cannons short/medium. Scouts should be the X factor there. Scouts rival snipers in long range that's it. Not pulses. Shotguns should have damage drop off at melee range. Remove the movement nerfs just for equipping a gun. Fusions i would make them slightly more consistent with cone spread, and slightly faster charge times. Remove accelerated coils all together. Fusions should be a skill weapon that reward anticipation and smart shot placement. You shouldn't be spamming it like a maniac. Ability cool downs need timers not that grey bar. And melees need to be much shorter cool downs. Why are grenades on 25 second cool down at tier 5 and have ohk's yet melees are at 1 min cool down for bottom tier and you're not getting a ohk. Flame shield shouldn't proc on hit it should be kill. We could go on about solid ways to fix the game for balance. However, the game caters to casuals. Implementing fixes like this would take out a partly randomized event from every gunfight. It's the same with having luck in the chamber bullets, glass half full, head seeker etc. all perks that boost damage is next to impossible to balance all of that. Players raging come from garbage deaths in crucible. It took a while to get used to that for me. An example of casual catering comes to the shield regen change made with 2.0 re balance. Decreased shield recharge times. So now the shields recharge faster on players who spec into it. Run max recovery and you're able to recharge shields before you're able to reload your gun. Of course there will be players who agree with this but that's a different issue. On top of that why is the shield part of health and the shield is the last 1/4 of the bar? It makes no sense. All of these examples just show how average this game is. The game does some things very well but imo it entirely missed the mark. They dumbed down what could have been a complex high skill gap game that was still fun to play for a large casual player base. It's been a lengthy history of bad decision making that starts in 2013 and runs straight through to today. I think most of those have been damage control decisions based on post launch reactions to some major problems, and Bungie just never had time to recover. I want to love the game. I could easily love the game. I'm still hopeful for destiny 2.

Trying to stop the community from complaining is like trying to make a blind person see. It will never happen.

Изменено (E3qualsz): 11/29/2015 6:03:13 PMWow I want to write a really long statement about everything you say is correct, but, I don't need to, you explained it perfectly. I honestly cant thank you enough for taking the time to do this. I love this game, and this comunity, but its corrupt. So here is my sugestion to bungie make an “inprovement” forum, and put all complaints on that, so that way people like author and I can have a much more enjoyable expereince here. What do you guys think? (A nerf poll (by bungie) would also be nice )
-
Quite the read there friend But I couldn't agree more. Toxic community, and it pushes that feeling into anyone who comes here to chime in, positive or not. I certainly feel it. I'll be having a great day, then not think and hop into the forums to see what's new. Poor judgement on my part, because the salty, whiny attitudes always run off on me, and soon enough, I'm jumping on the bandwagon griping about crucial game mechanics/components being rendered pointless, rewards being lessened, more roadblocks to fun gameplay being erected right before our eyes... I don't like it. I don't see a change coming anytime soon tho. Bungie/Activision are stubbornly going to do what they want, major damage will continue to be done to this great game, and more and more whiners will chime in, making the community even more cancerous. It's a vicious cycle. So very frustrating.

I agree man, but you're still gonna get hate because that's how people is

1 ответИзменено (dnrobs): 11/29/2015 2:05:58 AMI love this game, weapons get nerfed i find a new one.no need to write a 500 word moan disguised as an essay.

1 ответИзменено (ItsxChaoz): 11/29/2015 5:33:13 PMI agree with you, everyone just complains about what is "wrong" with a game when it is very minor. That needs to stop. And coming from a person that used to play a lot of COD where things get nerfed about every week, multiplayer won't be as fun if every gun sucks or has the same damage.

thank you omg

Op is a scruffy headed nerf herder

Nerf this, nerf that....this part sucks, that part sucks...yeah it's pretty salty around here. Yet despite all this insanity there is still one common, undeniable fact; we still play. That gives me hope.
-
I agree!!!

They should of never nerfed weapons They should have play tested before releasing guns They should release all gear that is in the armoury They should not of allowed exotic gear to be datamined They should of test grouped the new light level system to determine how hated it is They should more transparency in weekly updates They should have not removed reforging They should have selectable perks, not random bs on top of random bs with some bs on the side Destiny has a core of fantastic gunplay, with some rather decent imagery. But it feels so god damn detrimental when you look at basic quality of life additions that many other games already have. Not to mention the recent "fuck it, nerf the crap out of shotguns." movement... Shotguns have been in fps forever, we are now coming to the 5thish nerf. What kind of sorry excuse for play testers do they have? There's plenty to complain about. The list goes on and on and on.... If the core gunplay wasn't so enjoyable and the initial hype of the game wasn't snowballed by one of the most successful ad campaigns for a game ever...destiny would've tanked so hard. Most common comment after beating the black garden was, "that's it?" Story up that point had enough gun play to get you hooked, and the want of the story making sense kept you gaming away.... I very much enjoy destiny, but it could be so much more
