That comment by Deej was referring to the Dark Below and How, not TTK. This is year 2. Many games in the market force you towards the newest version of the game if you want to continue accessing online features.

I've always guessed that this was the case. In the contract it says the 10 years also included destinys development cycle. So right now we are half way through. I'm really hoping bungie finds it in their hearts to cut ties with Activision after this. But we all know that won't happen. Bungie will never be the same as they once were. And it bums me out.
