I recently decided to delete a character because I wanted to choose a different race. Whilst it warned me that it would delete the chracter completely, I niavely assumed this only meant the character and not all of the associated armor, inventory and exotics (grrr) - which I thought would simply return to the vault. Whilst this was frustrating, I remembered that I'd locked the exotics to prevent me somehow individually deleting them. I was surprised that the locks did not provide a warning or prevent me deleting the character in the first place...let alone everything not going to the vault Unsure why it would even allow you to delete so much stuff at once without a better warning considering I saw no other information about this in the game.
