Taken King will increase the population, and then there will be two more small expansions after that to keep the population afloat. And then Destiny 2 announcements, alpha, beta, and then release, and the cycle will continue all the way to Destiny 4 (as per the Activision contract). Like it or not, Destiny will not die any time soon. Even when the contract with Activision ends, Bungie gets to keep the Destiny IP, so who knows how far they will take this franchise.

if it were to die it would be dead already. Sure, it may hurt it a little initially, but Destiny is always my go to game when I get bored of everything else, even if it just for a little raid for the fun factor. I'm sure that is the same for other people as well.
