Sadly this won't happen (not to add to the pessimism of this forum), but Bungie has yet to do any actual updates that aren't just before an expansion releases. When it was just TDB we didn't see any updates for months, and we most likely wont be seeing any major updates again (updates that aren't bug fixes) until the Taken King, and then there will be months of no updates until the next expansion.

You're right, and this would definitely take some time for them to get it into the game, maybe even after TTK drops. But hey, we're apparently in this relationship with Destiny for the next 10...er sorry, 9.5 years (give or take :P) so they've got plenty of time to discuss ways to implement it!
