Thoughts?
If you invest the time you should get the rewards.
EDIT: To clarify this is really in relation to keys. Is it really fun to try and chase events which MAY give me a key which MAY open a chest with decent loot in it? Time/effort ratio here is not ideal imho.
EDIT: Appreciate the comments, not so much the ones being dicks but there are some valid points here. I should probably stop chasing the chests. Did some POE tonight which was way more fun. Yay.

If you feel like you're "working" in this game, you need to play something else
-
If you want real life rewards for time spent, get a job. If you want a sense of pride in having a Gjallahorn, play the game and stop complaining. Took me until my 1,000 hours mark before I got one.
-
I agree in the case of the skolas fight. It's such bs to do all that work and not get anything good. The chance for getting the exotic bounty and the elemental primaries must be very small. At least with trials of Osiris you know if you do the near impossible you will get something good.
-
You're a waitress. You get paid minimum wage and stand a chance to get reasonable tips if your customers (pretty much exclusively RNGesus) are having a good day. If you want a better salary, get a different job. If you like your job but you want better tips, work out what makes RNGesus happy. I'm guessing it's cleavage and hot pants.

I think if you're comparing a video game to work, you might want to find the other forms of entertainment

Advice for when you leave the parental nest and look for a job: Avoid sales, fishing, farming, anything else with uncertain outcomes. Like dating.
-
Then quit playing and go get paid

These complaints died a few weeks after launch. Where have you been?
-
If you obtained exotic using X method, you basically Y. If X=Exotic bounty, Y=you earned it w/o farming coins. If X=Xur, Y= you earned it w/ farming coins. If X= nightfall, exotic chest, crucible/strike end rewards, raid, or engram, Y= You got lucky.

At this point isn't it futile to hold any expectations given what we know about the game and Bungie? Just strap on your helmet, buckle your seat belt and go along with the ride or exit the vehicle. Not trying to be an asshole, just seems crazy to expect anything from destiny at this late stage of the game.
-
I don't farm for keys. If an event pops I will do it, and I do the bounties, but I "farming" is not something I have done since they started offering mats as a patrol reward. When the loot cave was in action my friends invited me along. I shot a few rounds and said bugger this, I would rather do patrol missions. My target in PoE is Etheric light and Cores. A key offers a bonus on top of the guaranteed rewards. I don't mind PoE, but I am not going to go through it multiple times to hit the bonus chest. The keys represent a similar issue to what has vexed many Destiny Players - They seem to forget that RNG is only one of the means of progression. Activities with Guaranteed rewards are abundant, and the progression system that came with HoW is so much better than anything that was offered before. RNG is a bonus - relying on it would be foolhardy.
-
It would be better if they built in a system to get one key per week per character. Make it hard or the consuming or whatever. But don't leave me to the mercy of RNG. For instance, completing all 6 bounties and completing one of the challenge modes (or even the 35) would grant you a key. Something.
-
Example situation. You work at a restaurant as a waiter/waitress. You are payed minimum wage are you not? But that's not your main source of income is it? No. Your main income is tips from customers. Are you still guaranteed something just for working? Yes just like you are guaranteed etheric light and an armor/weapon core. That's your minimum wage. That's what you are absolutely guaranteed. It may not be much, but something. Though your tips are not guaranteed. It's basically real life RNG. You could get a giant tip from someone or a shitty tip from someone. Hell you might not even get a tip. But all that is ever guaranteed to you is your minimum wage. Nothing else is truly guaranteed. Would you complain because you aren't getting giant tips from every single customer? Cause that's what you're doing right now except in a different context. Still the same thing just in destiny

You have weekly heroic, nightfall, two raids with normal and hard mode, and now POE to get awesome/exotic loot. If that isn't enough for you, you can get now work for keys for even more chances at the best items. How much do you need in one week....
-
Real question is, why the fk are you in destiny for 8 hours? To be fair, you probably do get (a lot) of loot, harsh fact is its not all going to be what you want. I work 8 hours for a fair wage, as much as I'd love 100k a year, chances are that won't happen.
-
They need to either increase the drop rate or make more stable ways of getting these keys. We shouldn't have to farm for hours on end just so that we can actually go into the POE and make it worth it.
-
If you spend eight hours on a game in one day, then you don't need to worry about getting "paid", you need to worry about find an addiction center to attend.
-
It really doesn't matter to me, I played ME3 multi up until dstiny was released you could put in a ton of work and still end up with cryo ammo IV out the rear end just RNG BEING RNG
-
Title says it all really...
-
I think that it should be a guaranteed reward for completing all the QW bounties in a single week. Not only would it keep people playing patrol, but it would also keep people doing the QW bounties after they have reached max QW level.
-
Your 'pay' is the weapon/armor cores and etheric light. Keys are a bonus.
-
Have you ever been to a casino? if so?, did you call the manager to complain because the odds are unfair that you will not win the jackpot at the slot machines or guess the correct number on roulette to win that grand prize? please... dude.. it's a game.. it has some elements that require luck.. learn to live with it and stop crying.
-
Rng game no keys wtf yes 4 hours for one key to get a bad queen gun._.
-
I have had very little luck getting keys. That being said I disagree with your statement. You put the work in, you do get paid. It's just not the salary you wanted. Just like in a job there are no is guarantee you will get the highest rewards with your efforts. You get blue engrams and synths every time. Those who work harder and open more have a higher chance and usually get the rewards. Maybe your working hard but not smart.
-
This game is not for you. Please quit your Destiny "job".

I heard datto here suggest a couple options for getting keys... 1. After completing all Petra Bounties (6 total) each week) 2. He cited a Reddit Poster(s) who suggested creating key fragments, that when put together, created a key. The fragments drop from PoE like this:' 28 = 1 32 = 3 34 = 5 35 = a key. 6 fragments = 1 key. Good idea i think.
