Can you get more different than male and female? Race, color, creed, religion and so on are differentiators for sure, but the differences between male and females are exponential.
Believe me. I get the whole "we are all just gamers" argument. Well...because we are, right? Gaming though is mainly males. Sure that lead is dropping every day, but it has been a male dominated hobby, sport or whatever you want to call it for a very very long time.
It doesn't bother me and it shouldn't bother anyone else that ANYONE uses a self descriptor before or after "gamer". What especially irks me is when a female says "gamer girl" and another female comes in to brow beat her because she self described therefore she is looking for attention. This in and of itself is bad enough, but when the female or even male doing the brow beating has a gender descriptor in her GT, ie. MissAlwaysRight, PortlandGal, BadAssDude, TexasGuy or HottieMaria....I just want to scream at the hypocrisy.
Everyone is different. Regardless of our shared passion we are still different and we should still embrace our differences. It in no way adversely impacts your life to know someone is male, female, black, white, Asian, Indian or Hispanic. It shouldn't put us off to know that the gamer on the other side is LGBT, Muslim, Christian or from another country.
I already know the old "well girls like to get guys to give them stuff in game by leading them on" argument too. That literally doesn't hold any weight in Destiny as there is no gifting or trading here. Even if there was...who's exact fault would it be if some guy gave something to a female because she batted her eyelashes and said "tee hee" a few times?
It is what it is I suppose and I seriously doubt that I am going to change anyone's mind on this matter. I've always said what I wanted to say though and have no qualms about how I feel on this subject. Anyways.
Have a great day and as Bungie says "Be excellent to one another"

Изменено (Krankmas): 4/25/2015 4:39:29 PMYep. All on the nail. Yet I personally don't like "Gamer Girl" it just bothers me sense I don't want to be treated differently. I mean Guys don't say "Gamer Boy" so I just say "gamer". I don't get all shitfaced with someone else saying it but I personally don't use it. I just hang out mostly with my BF and his best friends. We joke around just like I'm one of the guys and I'm happy with that

And that's perfectly fine that you don't want to classify yourself that way. Nothing against that whatsoever so good on you. :)

This is the best post ever. No one should ever be off put to find out that someone is a girl. Seriously
