They really do listen to or feedback!
Im actually amazed. I truly am. I never thought Bungie would put any stock in what the entitled whiny middle school/high school kids say on these forums. But now it's obvious that they do, for they have granted all our wishes!
Community: I'm sick of doing the same ol' stuff in this game over and over. We want variety!
They've listened and given us a new game type! You may be disappointed that this isn't a raid, but do you have any idea what a big step this is in game expansion? This is huge! An entirely new game mode dedicated to PvE. Which leads me to my next point.
Community: enough PvP activities! We want more PvE content!
Well here you go guys. A whole new game mode. And stop being entitled. Don't act like they should have done more. How many of you have a clue just how much time it takes to create PvE content of this level? If you don't know, it takes a sickening amount of time. PvP is easy to throw out there. PvE is a different story. Knowing what goes into it, I'm actually surprised they're releasing content as quickly as they are. Try to get your head out of your ass for a second and realize that the game has hardly been out for 6 months!! You can't expect this to be a fully fledged MMO yet! These games take years before they take full form. Right now this game is a shell of what it will be.
Community: Crotas end is a shit raid. It's more of a long strike than a raid. We want more raids like VoG!
THIS reason right here is why we don't get a raid with this DLC. I have no doubt that Bungie had every intention to release a raid with HoW. But they said "we've been humbled by the community's raid reception." This means they've seen what we've been saying. They realize that we're not going to accept some so-so raid thrown together. Personally, I love this. We gave them out expectation on raids, and I'll bet my only Gjallarhorn that they looked at the raid they were going to release for HoW and said, "this isn't going to be good enough". That right there is community influence. The raid will be a lot better if we give them the time to do it right. And plus, unless I'm mistaken (which I very well could be) this means that'll we'll be getting 2 new raids in the fall! How exciting is that?
Community: we want to be able to upgrade our 300 weapons.
Done. Can't wait to see the new upgrade paths. They admitted that they screwed up in the first DLC with the weapon upgrade path. Remember that Bungie has never made a game like this. It's more complicated than you think. They're going to make mistakes. There's going to be blunders. Get over it! They'll learn from it and the game will be better because of it.
Community: we want more vault space
That's been given to you already, albeit, very little new space, but it's something. They say the issue is the number of items displayed on the screen. Maybe in the new reef social space, we might get a second vault? We'k ll have to wait and see.
Moral of the story is, a lot of you are acting far too entitled. Understand that you're not a developer. You don't know what goes into the game, you don't know why decisions are made, and you have no qualification whatsoever to make judgements on this. This entitlement syndrome is disgusting. Just play the game and have fun. If you don't like it, then don't play. It's that simple.
And make no mistake, Bungie "owes" you nothing. They never promised anything because they knew they might have to change it. A raid was implied (because like I said I believe they had every intention of releasing a new raid), but it was never promised. Due to everyone's relentless impatience. They searched for leaks that got their hopes up and put unreasonable expectations on Bungie. Have fun going broke trying to sue a major company for something you think you're entitled to.
If you're with me, please bump this post. I'd like to see who the people with a brain are in this community. I'd like to make friends with the humble dudes who just enjoy playing a game. Let's show Bungie that there's a section of their community that is rational and actually enjoys to use their brain. Because like I said, we know they're listening.
Edit: WOW!!! I wrote this this morning and got no responses so I just wrote this post off as a good way to get my thoughts out. Come back later to tons of awesome feedback! Thank you guys for your kind words! You've rejuvenated my optimism for this community.
Edit 2: A lot of you have brought up how Bungie hasn't earned much trust with their history of doing dumb things. I'm well aware of the shortcomings of this game, and the -blam!-ups that have happened along the way. I just think things are headed in the right direction. But no, they have proven nothing yet.
Edit 3: Some others have pointed out that we don't know that the Prison of Elders all be a PvE activity, and are sketched out by the "cooperative 3 player activity" statement. I think we can use intuition to know that it will be PvE. Think about it. It says cooperative (co-op). What co-op game type has ever been PvP. None, because Player vs. Player doesn't exactly scream "cooperation" lol. No reason to get skeptical; this will be a PvE activity.

9 отв.Eventually the only people left will be the desticles. There will be no more cheesing or people wanting nerfs and no crying cause it's a dlc nitefall srike. And xur is rng because deej said it himself.....in a post.....to cover his ass after a video leaked of him saying it wasnt. Or another form of upgrade mats for raid and vendor gear. Because thats the way bungie wanted it. They will totally eat deejs shit and like it and scream for more. Desticles will thank deej for eveything he has done. When the new dlc is released deej will arise from his pizza box throne and climb down his cheeseburger wrapper mountain that his throne sits upon. And he shall adress the masses and he shall spake thusly. Fellow desticles we have almost chased off the darkness known as "the casuals". So now im glad to finally announce, straight from the devs themselves. Deej pauses to drink a 2 liter of diet mountain double dew. then slowly unzipping his pants. Desticles wait in anticipation...... I give you........................ RAIN!!!! And desties pair up 2 by 2 and bathe in the warmth of deej and praise him for the rain. Music is played ever loud for the desties to dance to. But a couple of filthy casuals in the back say quietly to themselves. In a whisper ever so quiet......kinda seems like they are pissing on us and calling it rain. Suddenly a needle scratch and the glorious deejs stream stops. All was quiet then suddenly all that was heard.... Fgt. Ungrateful spoiled self entitled shit. How dare you question the great deej. If it was piss deej would say it was. So the smart guardian asks deej is this piss or rain? Deej looks behind him as if there was someone there with a line for him to read. He then says... You're being trolled.... Stay on task guardians. The desticles shout HAHA SEE WE TOLD YOU. He would of said yea if it were true. why would a company lie..... to make more money.... Haha you fools begone filthy casuals. The casuals beaten and downtrodden turn off their consoles in defeat... Left with nothing but their jobs, kids, friends, gf/wife, sex and a life. They have nothing.... Desticles will say this dlc wasn't as great as we thought but the next dlc....now thats the one thats gonna turn this game around. It's got 4 story missions instead of 3. WOW THAT'S AWESOME! They will scream and cry as they throw their money at bungie as quick as possible. If you didn't like how little dlc you got with how much you paid then you're a peice of shit entitled spoiled brat. You got 800 hours out of the game if you didn't like it you should have just shit out more money to buy another game. They rage type op is fgt on the forums. HOW DARE YOU SHOW NEGATIVE OPINIONS ON DLC YOU PAID FOR IN THE GAME YOU PAID FOR ON THE VERY FORUM CREATED FOR THE GAME!! They will shout. you are no longer a desticle because of your stupid opinions and criticism. Even now after reading this they will only pick out the part about how i said if you got 800 hours out of 95 bucks then obviously you got your money worth Desticles will say more hours equal better game. They will say quantity of hours over quality of hours.... Thats when the desticles will rule.... Course there will be like 1000 of them left any ways........

This post is so accurate it burns a hole in every other post where people are complaining about not getting content. Your post makes me proud.

2 отв.Изменено (Gomly1980): 4/16/2015 9:36:18 AMI was with you up until you said people don't know what goes into developing a game. Some people have been "gamers" for a hell of a long time. During that time we've had the pleasure of chatting to all different kinds of folk in development from artists to coders to 3d modellers. With Indie development being a huge thing on PC at the moment we've had more access than ever into what goes on behind the scenes in games development. From small studios to the likes of Obsidian. There is no excuse at all for being ignorant of what goes on behind a games development. Anyone that's been around or actively got involved in communities has some degree of knowledge. You then go on to say you want to see who in the community has a brain because they will agree with you despite clearly having no knowledge of the industry and the arrogance to think that because you like something, you must be on a higher level intellectually than people who aren't as happy. The reason some people aren't as content as others isn't because it's a bad game, it's because it's just simply good. There is nothing else like Destiny on the market right now. They have pulled in crowds from different genre's and had the chance to make something massive. The potential of this game is insane. Some people speak out because they want that potential to be realised. We've had years of companies playing it safe and releasing "good" games. It's not a bad thing to want something more. We're now in the next generation of consoles and I don't buy the old gen holding them back excuse, we've seen some great things on PS3 and 360. Destiny should have been massive. It should have been the "go to" game. I have no doubt it will be eventually but it needs people that are going to push Bungie. Raging isn't a good thing but neither is accepting everything you get. Both are harmful to communities. Constructive feedback on improvements are always needed. No game is ever perfect and Destiny can be a hell of a lot more than it is.

Considering both raids were plagued with issues at their individual releases, I'd rather have a polished, refined raid "in the near future" than another mess that Crota was released as. It doesn't matter what Bungie does or doesn't do for everyone is entitled to their own opinion. If they released a raid that didn't meet everyones standards they are idiots. They hold off on releasing a raid to ensure it is finished and bug free, they are still idiots. For me the game is getting stale. I would love to have new bounties issued as a patch, hell I would love to have a new raid in HoW too. I'd rather not have the frustration and rage of playing something broken though. To each his own.

3 отв.OP proved something amazing to us today...
His nose smells like poop.
I find it funny how people complain about doing the same thing over and over and are now happy there's a new game mode that revolves around doing the same thing... Over, and over!!

10 отв.Don't worry, the hate will come swiftly once the bugs rear their ugly heads. It's inevitable. Also the gear grind will continue, people will complain about drop rates. "Try to get your head out of your ass for a second and realize that the game has hardly been out for 6 months!!" For a game that has been in design for so long, the story line we received was downright pathetic. I enjoy the gameplay, but not many can truly say they weren't disappointed with where the story went (or didn't go). It's nice to see extra content added, but this content is still limited. VoG was great, but CE was a sorry excuse of a dlc as it's content that could/should have been included as part of the release. I know that would never happen since they needed to stagger releases to keep light level meaningful. For those who try to defend bungie and say things like, " Bungie "owes" you nothing"...I think you all need to remember that we are the customers. We bought into what they were trying to sell, and many of us feel that they did not deliver on what they marketed. Companies should definitely be held accountable, and f we are unhappy with the product, than we have the right to voice our opinion. Most opinions aren't alwyas reasonable, but it's still valid. "This entitlement syndrome is disgusting. Just play the game and have fun. If you don't like it, then don't play. It's that simple. " In regards to this statement, the word entitlement is used way too often, ad obviously use by people who are most likely 25+ yrs old talking about the younger generation. I'm 28, and still feel this game didn't deliver with what I feel they tried to present. Destiny did a great job with certain material, but it's still lacking in many ways. I think of it as someone selling me a new car, but forgot to mention that the timing belt is off, the wheels need re-alignment and the power windwos in the back arent working. It looks great, feels great, but when you start looking around, you start to notice all the little problems that are tough to take your eyes away from. Good read, but with a little more thought, I think many will realize that the timeline for all these updates could have been minimized by the money grab that has become the gaming industry.

1 ответWhat if.......trials of osiris were cut instead of raid?

2 отв.Изменено (Woodley Bonner): 4/16/2015 10:18:20 AMFanboyism they see people don't play PvP much so they push players into trials of osirus. We ask for more raids we get some updated strikes playlist everyone assumes will be awesome but we know little about. They know what we want and they give us what they think we need same old Bungie BS. Just my personal opinion being on the personal insults.
-
I was warned about this. People were saying Bungie would fix a few things then shout from the heavens "we're listening!!!"
-
Nice said!
-
Bump. Well put, and I literally agree with everything you said. Destiny is blazing trails where before there was none. You cant do that without getting scraped up along the way. There was no blueprint to go off of. No tired old game engine to copy and paste in .. they made the engine. And as for the no raid announcement.. to me, admitting full well CE was a disappointment, and then seeing Bungie aknowledge that was awesome. I think its easy to see Bungie looked at what they had prepared for HoW and said, this is going to be another CE, the fans deserve better. I respect that, and I appreciate it. Not to mention I think we should withhold judgment on the arena activity until we've given it a fair a shot. It has been a pleasure to see Destiny grow and evolve before my eyes. It has been cool to see a flawed and talented company the size Bungie is recognise their mistakes and improve as they go. And it will be a pleasure a year from now to see what Destiny has become, reflecting back when I first got addicted to the game along with the other Christmas noobs and Day 1ers. #proudfanboy #keepitupBungie

No amount of nerfing will have any effect on how OP this post is.

Bump Well said sir. I for one am excited about the new PvE mode. It will be a nice change up, especially for the guys who have been on since launch. I know a lot of people who have moved on because they hit 32 and have all the weapons they want/exist. This could open a new audience and bring back others. Still a fun, decently made, visually compelling FPS in my eyes.

1 ответYou. I like you. You seem like the kind of person you could drink a beer with and kill the Vex or something. But it'd be space beer. Yeah.

2 отв.Is this logic? Here? But.....but how?
-
1 ответI agree. The time to cost ratio is high on this game. Remember when a game once released wasn't patched or updated. Instead of glitches they were thought of as part of the game. Now everyone wants everything fixed and perfect all the time. I love raids and I will continue to play the two we have until I can complete hard mode easily each time. I also am looking forward to something else fun to do. It is a game Ya know, you are just suppose to have fun.
-
1 ответThis is great man. I spend 95% of my gaming time with Destiny and enjoy it! Play the game or don't, but all the negative/destructive criticism is childish.
-
I like what you said about the raid. I didn't think of it like that, VOG is what a raid should be like but I just don't play it anymore because there really isn't anything I want from it, and crota is extremely short compared to VOG.
