So I'm in the army and got sent away for a month to do some training in the field. Couldn't monitor xur or anything of the sort. This weekend I finally got out and was at the airport ready to fly back home. Been craving the MIDA and ruin wings for awhile, and alas, xur brings them. Unfortunately I won't get home until late Sunday. My wife is pretty indifferent to Destiny and my playing. I get her to hop on, and boy, never thought it'd be so tough how to get to xur. But she did ask what I wanted from Mr. Squiggly face. Great experience all and all.

And not an attack to OP But why are you americans so thankfull of your soldiers "serving their country" abroud? I'm not an american and I've never see anyone nowhere near this proud of war to be honest. This is a serious question out of curiosity Edit: my point is actually why Americans are so proud of the things American soldiers do in the wars in other countries without really knowing the cause Dropped the europe part, wasn't my place to speak for am entire continent

So nice of her to have done that. Maybe Bungie should upgrade de app in order to visit Xur from the phone, or better, do some shitty ass mini games to gain coins or level up guns, it'll make the app adictive as hell. Yeah, bad idea....Or is it??

Изменено (Griswold13): 3/31/2015 10:32:07 AMSo to me it's like the US only gained independence relatively recently and we're all kind of riding off that and it's become part of our culture. And whilesome americans are or seem to be more warhappy than others, most of us honor the soldiers, not the war. There is all sorts of political controversy surrounding the wars that america is involved in, but there is no question of the honor of a soldier who puts his life on the line to protect home and country. #Thatwouldbecrap

That is awesome, she is a keeper!

Thank you for serving our country.

4 отв.Haha, while I'm not in the military, I did something similar with my gf when Xur sold Icebreaker back in January. I was out of town and had to FaceTime with my gf to walk her through buying Icebreaker.

Congrats! I was in a similar situation about a month back on a business trip. Missed out on Red Death and the Skullfort 2.0. It would be a mission in futility to try to get my wife through the process.

34 отв.Изменено (joshuadakilla): 3/30/2015 3:30:01 AMPeople shut up quit sucking his dick with the "Thank you for your service" it doesn't need to be said over a video game forum. I guess I need to clear some things up even though they were clear enough. I'm not disrespecting soldiers, I'm saying it's got to get obnoxious hearing everyone say the same thing over and over and over and over. There's a time and place for it and that's when you're standing face to face with one of them so you can actually shake their hand. Don't say it over the internet to try and feel like you're a good person.

3 отв.Even I'm going to thank this guy for his military service and I'm not even American I'm British. If America didn't do what they do then who would be the world's leading superpower, the Chinese? The Russians? -blam!- that for a laugh!!!
-
Family support is where it's at! My 2 boys would carry me. You should see my five yr old tackle the Devil's Lair! Its awesome. And he got 6 kills in crucible the other night. Pretty sure my wife could figure it out, too, but let's hope I don't have to let that happen!

That's Love, your a lucky man

2 отв.I think it's bullshit that the army doesn't let you monitor Xur while training.. I mean what if he had sold gally? Priorities all wrong. I bet your CO is a gally-less perma-31 and just bitter about it.
-
Lucky you. I missed out on suros, ghorn, IB, and whatever else was first 5 weeks of Xûr because of pathfinder.
-
Dude. I have trouble even imagining trying to talk my wife through getting me something from Xur. Good job.

You guys and gals need to stop thanking him for his service on the forums, it's a forum. Yes it shows respect for what he risks (his life and his family) for even the rat like ungrateful and the honourable grateful citizens of earth, but it's a forum. His post isn't crying for gratitude, it's telling a story about what seems like a good time with destiny and his wife. That's the topic, not his service. Wanna show real gratitude? Donate or join him in arms. Hell a handshake is better because some of you don't even care but wanna look good. *some*. <---- see that word? Not all. Not most. Most are grateful. Yes words also help, and can at times be by far more powerful than money. Far more powerful. But this is a destiny forum about a funny story/kind story about his wife doing a favour. Let's keep it at that.
this isn't hate, though some will jump the gun and cry and bit-ch at me
3 отв.Yeah they really need to make purchases from Xur accessible through the app
