How should weapons be balanced?

My question is how should weapons be balanced? Out there in the wild most Guardians only ever talk the talk. There has been a rise and fall in much of the weaponry we see today, but what is the median, the middle and the perfection? An how far through Destiny has this carried you in your endeavors? We'll begin with each weapon both in primary and secondary class. I would each person to speak about their tops picks for the class, what they think is op, and what overall should be adjusted for the class. Also if you have any recommendations for new weapon classes that would be nice to hear about as well. Primary: Hand cannons- My top picks are devil you know, fate bringer and hawkmoon. Mainly for they're high impact, consistency and rewards for hitting most of your shots. As far as hand cannons go I don't feel any are Op, but the thorn and last word do come to mind. The thorn after taking 3 shots is a guaranteed kill much like Timur's Lash. But while paired with its firing rate and perks is plenty devastating enough. It's a good weapon, but it's range and great stability are something to be looked when balancing this weapon more. The 2 shot kill should only be awarded to the patient and skilled. The last word is a very difficult weapon to use. I only think that it's kill times are too fast and that's it. I would personally just adjust the fire rate and maybe increase its stability. I don't think hand cannons should change much, it's just the thorn and the last word that give them a bad name. Assault rifles- My top picks are the Hardlight.....and that's it haha, it's mainly because even after the update it feels to me to be the most balanced in where most weapons should be. These guns set the pace of any FPS and the game will always rotate around them. After the nerf you can see no one talks about them being op haha. I do think that's good. I feel that the damage shouldn't have been hurt as much. The range should have been pulled back more instead. Assault rifles should always shred close up. Pulse rifles- Bad Juju and 123 zyzgy....or something like that. I like high fire rates that can pinch enemies before they hit that corner. Red death and Bad juju have ridiculous kill times. No weapon in this game should be a right out of the box 2 shot...and badjuju....i love you.....so I don't really care who you hurt lol. The buff was so very important! But it was a tad bit over the top. I think it should be slightly reduced so that no pulse rifles can be 2 shot. That's it. Scout rifles- The mida multitool and the nemisis Aries X4. The multitool is great for picking kills off with ease and I think scout rifles shine more every time other weapons get nerfed haha. The Aries I have gives zen moment and firefly and I like high impact scouts because you can keep your distance and get solid kills as well as assist. There's no such thing as an op scout rifle lol. If any the vision of confluence maybe...but nah They're actually great where they are, it's more about these out playing weapons by playing into its own strengths and being a solid team member. Secondary: Shotguns- Two in the morge and felwinters lie....obvious reasons, the range, impact and the perks. Felwinters.....totally throwing you under bruh....not much to say....you just a tad to good but it's not because of the genetics it's because of your perks. And they though found verdict was bad haha. Shot package shot package shot package. ....why you so good? I just don't believe shot guns past a certain impact should be able to have it....nuff said about that. But I would like to pinch range back a bit more, give people who are dedicated to their primary a bit more of a chance. Fusion rifles Light beware is about all I use, for the hip fire and grenade energy. Aside from that it's stats are pretty good. As for op I do know the plan c is a tad much but no after the nerf if I got hit with a fusion rifle it was to to my fault. They're pretty balanced after the nerf, I definitely have more respect for them now. Sniper rifles No land beyond......it's all it like to use....just cuz I don't feel any snipers are truly op, maybe a bit much to handle, and maybe a good perk or two, but none are really op. Buff the No land......no glint, slightly faster shot loading, less sway, more damage, adjust the sights for clarity, better target acquisition and buff the master perk so Body shots are 195. That's it! Heavy weapons: Rocket launchers The truth and broke man's ghallahorn. I'm not much of a rocket person because kills are more definite, but you net less. However on large maps the truth is what I go to hands down. The ghallahorn with its built in proximity can really be a bit much, but for the most part I can deal. Not much to change here Heavy machine guns Thunderlord, super good advice, and zombie apocalypse.....supergood advice is very supportive and more if a defensive weapon, but has very good pay off in the end, but it's still can be frustrating to use. I don't like against all odds, it just seems to kill way too quick with ease....not saying it's op but I feel like it is I would not change much besides against all odds.....less stability....>.> Weapon class suggestions: I would love to see sub machine guns as a secondary and a railgun as both a heavy weapon and secondary.
