There's a whole lot of games that look basically like the one in that video. And in a lot of ways the game in that video does not look like Marathon from the Marathon video.

And what makes marathon stand out from the others other than the visuals? Unless there's something groundbreaking I'm not touching it knowing bungie with destiny

They sacrificed Destiny their cash cow to make that game. Destiny is in the worst place it’s ever been. If Bungie had kept up with Destiny while creating Marathon nobody would care, in fact I believe most would embrace it. But they turned their backs on the customers who carried them through the years.

Destiny is just not in the worst place its ever been in terms of the actual game that people play. Maybe in terms of the game people make up but that's still not all that much worse than it has been at this time of year. It's just really hard to understand how people are just now coming to these conclusions. Especially some people more than others. There's a lot of people that pay more attention to the hooplah than the actual game and what areas its improved in over time. Not really sure how anyone could say they've "turned their backs" on them, especially given that a lot of the time its the people that are also saying everyone else is taking the game too seriously doing this. There's been a lot added to the game since people in general say it was the best its ever been that people continue to pretend like was always there. The game was somewhat rickety in some areas when it was this supposedly best its ever been and people just act like "oh eververse, and another game from a AAA studio..." I'm just not really sure I see what peoples' problem really is. At least not to this dramatic of a level.

Its almost like your thinking button is blocked by some kind of a veil. Don't know about you but there would have to have been something good about the game for me to still be on the site posting about it 7 months after it came out. If there was nothing good that abruptly I think the outcome for the game might be a little closer to the make believe version.

In reality PvP has been steadily changing for at least a couple of years now. Some people would definitely notice the changes more than others though. A lot of the stuff that has been done is stuff that needed to be done and would have eventually had to be done if the PvP for this game was going to last as long as the rest of the game. They could have most likely done things easier by playing lamp genie more and letting the game remain janky but that's not what they did and eventually that will pay dividends.
