Raids are impossible w/ out communication. Add in a forced mic check or forced boot if you turn it off partway in, then sure.
Dungeons and GM’s would probably be pretty rough but potentially doable w/ matchmaking
Edit: the downsides and issues above are why they don’t do it. They’re sorta designed around communication or are so difficult that communication is needed.
a forced mic check could work and I’d be interested to see that tested for sure

Guess you have never seen the videos of players using zero coms during raids. The OP didn’t suggest random based MM for GM’s and dungeons. They suggested no MM as an option for activities (strikes, freelance PvP, events and seasonal content).

Second to last sentence only says they are frustrating to run with randoms. Be default GM’s and dungeons require you to solo or have your own fireteam so it’s really an erroneous statement in the OP’s part. No… I don’t mean do a raid without you yourself being in coms. I mean there are people who do raids with their entire team off coms. Not sure if anyones doing KF that way yet, but all of the raids up to VOG I have seen on YouTube. I have often done raids and told them I was going to be off mic most of or for the entirety of the raid. I def agree with you that not all players need to be on mic to play.

You have to keep in mind that both VoG and KF are old raids. There are plenty of people who know at least the original version inside out. And there are ways to communicate without a headset. Like running into a position and turning to face others so they know you're deliberately picking a spot. Shooting at something to draw attention to it. That sort of thing. You might end up with a few extra wipes, but it can be done if everybody is experienced.

Numerous parts of VoG are next to impossible w/ out most of the team having a mic and the few w/ out listening, same with Deep Stone, same with Vow, Kings Fall, etc. I don’t see how it was an error, seemed clear to me but if so that’s the only bit I was replying to

I just checked and found all raids being done without coms. Crazy man. That takes a lot of dedication on their part. They completed DSC in under an hour. Scrolling through the videos was a bit different perspective for me as they had game music on, which I always have turned off. I had no idea about the music change queues in Leviathan until it was about to be vaulted 😂 But yeah, it’s not like “randoms” are just going to group up an do a raid no coms. And that’s a bit off topic from this post. Just conversation at this point I suppose. Players definitely need some synergy to do those with no coms.

I challenge you to do Vow without coms man. Especially exhibition on console. My god its already terrible with. Let alone when someone doesn't have a keyboard to read out the symbols. On pc I might see it happen but on console...nay man
