No. You just need to be willing to listen to thoughts that didn’t originate in your own head, with respect. Naturally :)

작성자: Rogue 11/29/2021 11:26:37 PMWhy make up a quote for me on my own post when my idea is sitting up there, able to be quoted accurately? You might not buy the cannibalising argument, but much bigger games than Destiny have had to deal with the same problem. I’m all for game modes, but variations of single game modes? It’s too much division, requires heaps of dev time to create incentive to play each of them. My idea is to take the three overlapping game modes, take the strengths of each, and build them into a new mode, where Bungie can devote al of their resources to a single mode, instead of 3. The idea really isn’t that stupid. I’m not asking them to get rid of anything. In fact, there’s a lot from survival I think trials would benefit from. And THAT won’t ever happen with just some new armour sets. Nothing but condensing them will combine their strengths into a single game mode. Trials is currently in a period where it is being redefined. I’m adding my opinion to the mix, if you have other views about what it should be, feel free to make your own post and deal with your own backlash.

You want to know why the cannibalizing argument is a stupid one? It’s because these game modes, in a world where Glory actually has genuine incentive, aren’t even competing. Trials is only active during the weekend, and at the moment there is no endgame PvP to purposefully engage in during the week. Because the Glory playlist is basically completely devoid of any reward. Sure, maybe there would be marginally less people in it during the weekend, but who cares dude? Glory modes just need a genuine incentive. Trials is fine as is. These modes aren’t even going to clash with each other because one is only available during a limited time anyways. It’s like saying Iron Banner is going to cannibalize all of PvP if it had great loot incentive even though it’s only available once a month lmao.

Oh o, you made another oversight! TwT Remember, the cannibalising argument was only in response to if Bungie gave proper incentive to make all 3 modes popular. Of course there’s no problem now, because trials isn’t competing. It won. Survival is a ghost town and elimination is a joke. You don’t know what that would look like, as there has never been proper incentive to play all 3 at once. But, if league of legends, while being the most popular game in the entire world at the time, had problems dividing players between 5 game modes, than you can bet your bottom dollar Destiny, the 16th most played game, is going to have issues dividing it’s already very small pvp community amongst twice as many modes. The last thing we need is variations of modes.

I feel like you’re just deliberately not understanding exactly WHY Survival is a ghost town. It’s because Bungie left it to rot instead of adding loot to it. Your idea to just can other game modes instead of each having a reason to play is just dumb as hell. Not to mention, another thing you don’t seem to understand, is that you seem to think that there will be a perfect division of players among these modes. Even though people will more often than not dabble in all of them. And Y’know, one of them is only available during a certain window of time anyways.

작성자: Rogue 11/29/2021 11:34:49 PMYou’re being deliberately obtuse. In the cannibalising argument I said “in a perfect world” it was a model I was using to articulate a point. It want a very complicated model, and it wasn’t a very complicated point. All it meant to articulate was dividing anything by 3 leaves you with less, even if the division isn’t equal. Survival is a Ghost town because trials is the same game mode with rewards.

작성자: Rogue 11/29/2021 11:40:38 PMMy meaningful suggestion was to take the strengths of each, trials and survival, and combining them into a new mode. It would take the loot and structure of trials, but combine it with the sbmm system currently in survival, which should then be expanded upon and turned into a proper in game skill rating. Pro tip, if you want to insult my ideas, you need to actually aim at my ideas. When you bring up irrelevant arguments I’m not even making and attack those instead, it really doesn’t affect me... like at all? It just makes it look like you have a very poor understanding of what I’m suggesting, but were moved to anger regardless.

Again, a false quote. Here’s fun, how about you grow a spine and attack my obviously bad idea on its own merits? Instead of hiding behind your attempts to recontextualise my arguments. Actually quote something I’ve said. Actually argue against my idea on its own merits. Go on, big boy.
