No.
It’s called “I don’t like it.”
You don’t get to narrowly define terms according to your personal preferences.

That's a lot of words you put down just to essentially say "I don't have a valid rebuttal". If you're thinking I don't like RPGs I grew up on FF and still to this day go back and play Morrowind and Fallout NV, RPGs are great, when they were intended to be. Trying any attempt to make D2 more like and RPG would be a wasted effort because they would only be complete by the time Destiny was over if they were lucky, and In the process they'd invalidate our previous experiences in the game. If Bungie were to make a Destiny after 2 ended with the full intention of making it and RPG I'd say great couldn't wait to experience it. Best example I could give we it 343 decided they wanted to make Halo 5 like Halo Wars and make it have CommandAndConquer aspects. Would it be cool to experience a halo narrative with first person shooting and the ability to use troops like a CaC force absolutely. Would it be a viable plan to execute with just over a year until Halo Infinite drops? Absolutely not, that new game territory. That's a Halo Wars 3 pitch

작성자: TheArtist 11/14/2020 4:19:37 PMActually—once you stop thinking you’re the Center of the Unuverse—-it’s the only rebuttal necessary. Taste is subjective. Just because you don’t like it, doesnt mean it’s a bad game. That would be like my saying that Dark Souls games suck, and everything about them is poorly managed...because I personally don’t enjoy playing them.

I find that funny while you are projecting you own desires for Destiny2 to become an RPG. I made my preference known by saying I want Destiny's Final year to be the best of Destiny we've come to know, sure. For you however you've gone as far to say Destiny already is an RPG, and I've disproved that while explaing why that wouldn't make sense to do. Bungie has never stated that they plan to work on making Destiny an RPG focused game, and I have very little worries that they plan start. Don't lecture me on voicing my opinions when you act as if yours are factual

작성자: TheArtist 11/14/2020 4:37:04 PMWhose definition of best are we using? And why theirs and not someone else’s. I’m not projecting at all. I’m just not buying into you “Reality is Whatever I Say It Is” narrative. You want one thing for the game. I want something else. You don’t like wher it’s headed. I do. Taste is subjective. And I said it was a action-RPG because it meets the established definition of what an action-RPG is.

Well there is always the alternative. Instead being delusional and being in denial about project what you want Destiny 2 to be just Google "Destiny 2" and you'll see. Bungie themselves only state it to be an "online multiplayer shooter" no MMO, and no RPG. Why? Because Bungie never made Destiny to be either, and as far as I can tell they have no intention on making and RPG Destiny

https://www.gamesradar.com/amp/bungie-commits-to-destiny-2-as-an-action-mmo-promises-expanded-rpg-elements-and-pvp-improvements/ Want to keep digging that hole deeper? I suppose you’ll want to argue that the “MMO” part isn’t reall short for “MMO-RPG”. Where’s the popcorn? Cause all you have left at this point are the insults, cause what facts there are lay on my side....

작성자: Gemini Trash 11/14/2020 4:54:44 PMHey homie, find me an article of Bungie saying themselves that they're making Destiny an MMO or RPG. Or even just claimed they wanted it to be one. I'll wait right here while you muster it up hun, pinky promise 🌸 Also MMO stand you "mass multiplayer online" you're ignorant
-
작성자: TheArtist 11/14/2020 4:57:39 PMShadowkeep reveal stream. Summer of 2019. That’s where the phrase “action-MMO.” Got coined. Or you can read Luke Smith’s Directors Cuts where he speaks frequently of the challenge of trying to balance Destiny the action game, with Destiny the RPG. Next question? Or are you ready to put down that shovel yet?
-
Oooof, no honey. You sent me 2 articles that were both written by individuals who are unaffiliated to Bungie Studios, and only 1 related to D2. I know math is hard, but since I asked for an article(s) showing Bungie themselves, perhaps in a twab here on B. net, saying they were building Destiny to be an RPG, well that means you've sent 0 articles honey the number is 0 because you haven't sent that article. Are you trying to dodge this task? I figured since you were trying to act condescending you'd want to prove me wrong. 👀😂

작성자: TheArtist 11/14/2020 5:22:17 PMNo. Let me put the dots really close together. 1. The Shadowkeep keep reveal stream was produced by Bungie and hosted by Luke Smith (Destiny Franchise Director) and Mark Nosworthy. 2. The Directors Cuts we’re actually written by Luke Smith himself. He not only refers to Destiny as an action-game/ rpg-hybrid, he outlines his vision for the game in such detail that it took three This Week At Bungie’s to cover it all. I can keep this up all day, and make you look incredibly stupid in the process. You are not going to be able to bully or insult you way out of this because you stepped into an indefensible position. So I strongly suggest that you take the L and stand down. Because I have the facts on my side and you can’t call me anything that I haven’t been called 100x worse, a dozen times over. And I didn’t wilt then, and I won’t under your assault either.
-
Look homie I'm not trying to make you suffer, I'm just helping you understand how you're wrong. I understand how you might be feeling attacked when I sent you out to get an article that just doesn't exist. That do be kind cruel because you'd be looking forever, but by the simple act of not producing the article is in itself you taking the L. It only proves how your views and opinions on Destiny are centered on baseless claims. Until you have and article to produce of Bungie themselves speaking on their desire to make Destiny an RPG, take this L to heart. Understand that nobody her cares about baseless claims presented as fact. Present your opinion sure, but your opinions like my own are not factual. Enjoy ya day

작성자: TheArtist 11/14/2020 6:00:52 PMNot going to bullshit your way out of this either. You in a box where I’m holding all the keys and guarding all the exits. Reference one: https://youtu.be/S0wVt0cnDTg Scroll to 17:26. Luke characterizes his vision for the game. Refers to Destiny as an “action MMO”. Noteworthy expands on this by explaining why Bungie has shied away from referring to the game as any kind of MMO. (Ironically, it was because of the very narrow thinking and preconceived notions you are arrogantly trying to defend, and bully/bullshit me into accepting as objective reality). Ready to give in yet? Or do I have to keep on embarrassing you by doing the work you refuse to do and go get MORE evidence from Smiths Directors Cuts?? Which are on THIS website in the News section. We’re all the TWABs are archived? I’ll be happy to keep going....
-
They did say Action-MMO, but not RPG. Keep bein' a clown. I get you don't understand the difference, but MMOs and RPGs aren't the same. Even then while the term MMO is used Destiny doesn't fit the description because max players per lobby in PvE is 6. 9 in patrol, but ya gotta be cheesy. Come talk to me about MMO meaning again MassMultiplayerOnline when we can break double digits per lobby. 😂👌
-
작성자: TheArtist 11/14/2020 6:12:36 PMAnd the goal post gets up and moves. Typical. Actually Smith said “RPG” no less than four times in that segment. Try again. And you just made Noseworthy’s point as well by trying to redefine what that word means to suit yourself. Which was MY original point. Just digging that hole deeper and deeper and deeper.

작성자: Gemini Trash 11/14/2020 6:24:16 PMYou right Luke absolutely does, but if you actually go watch that same video they're using that term to reference the "social game" which as nothing to do with what an RPG actually is RPG or Role-playing game Description: A role-playing game is a game in which players assume the roles of characters in a fictional setting. Players take responsibility for acting out these roles within a narrative, either through literal acting, or through a process of structured decision-making regarding character development. Just to highlight this
Players take responsibility for acting out these roles within a narrative, either through literal acting, or through a process of structured decision-making regarding character development.
Something in Destiny you simply don't do.

작성자: TheArtist 11/14/2020 6:30:09 PMI love right-fighters. They are so -blam!-ing predictable. Ladies and gentlemen, the goalposts get up and move...again. So let’s get this straight, Mr. Hypocrite: It’s okay for you to use and outside source to support your position (once again the word is “action RPG” get the genre name right).... but it’s not okay when I did it, You instead insist I have to source it from Bungie themselves....and when I do... you then circle back, and do the very thing you said I wasn’t allowed to do. Splitting hairs all the way? You aren’t going to weasel your way out of this. Take the L or I’m just going to keep making the circle tighter and tighter.... and keep calling out your bullshit at every turn. You were wrong. From the very mouth of Luke Smith himself...ON VIDEO FOR THE ENTIRE WORLD TO SEE...you were wrong. Stand. Down.
-
Well if you remember I asked for an article written by a Bungie affiliate taking about how they play to make Destiny an RPG, which you have stated as fact the Destiny is. You sent me a video of Luke referencing "social game" as an RPG element. That's just Kuke being an airhead. When you have interviews like that it's entirely possible for things like that to pass by, because it's not thought out. 👀 I would've road with that tbh if ol' Lukie boi didn't keep calling RPG "Social Game", and there were actually articles about Bungie intending to make Destiny a full on RPG. 1 guy saying a thing 1 time in a live interview ain't it. Articles my dude, articles

작성자: TheArtist 11/14/2020 6:49:27 PMhttps://www.bungie.net/en/News/Article/48072 I particularly like the section where Smith uses the subtitle: Combat: The Inevitable collision between Action and RPG. Wrong. Again. Where you going to run to now? Going to insist that the article isn’t “well-written”?? Or that Smith isn’t a reliable source with regards to his own company’s game. The game that that company entrusted him to lead?? You lost this fight before it started. You picked an opponent that knows these games better than you, and know THIS game better than you. You chose a position that is impossible to defend. Accept the lesson in it and I’ll call off the dogs. Because I WILL let you keep making an @ss of yourself, and keep throwing the dirt back in on you if you don’t stop digging.
-
작성자: Gemini Trash 11/14/2020 6:53:57 PMOoo, that is a good one! I now full believe Luke is an illiterate, or is just ignorant of what an RPG is. The only topics touch on in this article is damage numbers, buffs, and supers. Bruh I'm weezing this dude is doin' y'all so wrong with bad vocabulary. It's like YouTube clickbait Title and Thumbnail bad 😂😂😂
-
작성자: TheArtist 11/14/2020 7:14:50 PMYep. So predictable. Knew you would go there. But then you are running out of options.... Which means it time to cut to the chase. Okay, show us YOUR CREDENTIALS. Smith is “illiterate” enough to work at Bungie and to be given the responsibility of managing their only product. Show us YOUR qualifications—-random internet person—that would make us believe you and not him. Surely you have more than a smart mouth and a bad attitude? Right? Show us what’s in your wallet.... I can wait.

I mean I'm not gonna tell you who I am or give you my bank account statements, but I can say at least the I have a high enough reading and comprehension level to full understand what being an RPG entails. I grew on both Halo and Morrowind. Halo and TES franchise' both have produced excellent games. Youd figure as a prior writer, or journalist I believe, that Luke wouldn't use words that aren't applicable in titles. I mean color me crass, but I understand what things aren't when I come to understand the definition of what things are. If people are using term incorrectly I'll happily correct them. c: Now you may ask "why Sir Trash, why do you take the initiative to correct people", and that is because we got a lot of real ignorant people around here. They're not only ignorant, but lazy as well given Google is clicks away a the knowledge is at your fingertips. Destiny by definition is neither an MMO or RPG despite what Luke might say about it. Should I find one day that my team and I can make choices, betray the traveler, destroy the last city, and join the darkness in a 12-24 man lobby, I'll be on board with you. Until then this is an Online Multiplayer Shooter. Nothing more or less. However I will maintain that trying to change Destiny 2 into an RPG now would be a waste of a decent concept. Destiny 2 is near the end of it's life regardless of what they do. Just under 2 years isn't long to overhaul an entire game, and the content I'm seeing in BL doesn't give me hope that Bungie could pull it off even while going full steam ahead into it. They should just plan another Destiny with better bones and take advantage of the new gen console's capabilities if that's truely their desire

작성자: TheArtist 11/14/2020 9:04:52 PMI didn’t ask you to dox yourself. I wouldn’t do that to anyone. But your last bastion in your bid to save face is to malign the credibility of someone who earns his living designing games..,, and that you are somehow more credible than he is. Which I’m calling bullshit, and you need to bring more to the table than mockery, attitude, and Reality Is Whatever I Say It Is. ...and that essay you just wrote won’t cut it. Because here’s the reality-check, Keyboard Warrior. Luke Smith is at the rank in corporate management that is just below the executive suite. Which means he’s is just below the level wher you typically get paid seven figures. Because what you know and what you do is THAT VALUABLE to your employers. Because he is managing a franchise that is probably worth well into NINE figures in terms of dollars. That $100 million that Netease gave Bungie? That’s just enough money to show you’re serious and buy you a seat at the table where the decisions get made. So please explain to me WHY we should listen to YOUR description of what Destiny is....and not the person Bungie pays a lot of money to manage it? Why should we believe you, and not the guy whom Bungie has so much faith in that they retooled the entire company (Bethesda is about the same size as Bungie and is valued at about $3 BILLION) around HIS vision? Simple question. Very problematic answer. 😆

작성자: Gemini Trash 11/14/2020 9:51:24 PMIncome doesn't equate intelligence or importance Lukes credentials are as a journalist. Luke Smith joined Bungie intending to be a writer for the Studio. How it ended in a promotion to director of one of their games is beyond me, especially when the work done continues to be criticized by the players. Now don't get me wrong I'm not speaking for personal character. I'm sure Luke has as much positive character as anyone else I'd know. As for what Destiny is, all you gotta do is look at the definition. Both as follows come from the wiki What is an MMO: "A "Massive Multiplayer Online Game" (MMOG, or more commonly, MMO) is an online game with large numbers of players, often hundreds or thousands, on the same server." What is an RPG: "A Role-Playing Game is a game in which players assume the roles of characters in a fictional setting. Players take responsibility for acting out these roles within a narrative, either through literal acting, or through a process of structured decision-making regarding character development." Destiny's max limit per server is 12 in PvP, and 9 in PvE, so no certainly no an MMO. GTA V thats an MMOs they have 50 player battle royale matches, it fits. Destiny on the Narrative side give the player not choice in character development. You can't choose good, or bad. Your own moral standing is not part of the experience. You only choice is to continue playing the very linear storyline. That's not what an RPG is. Now I'll grant you there are elements of what typical RPG employ, those being as follows Popular RPG Elements include: •Experience Points and Character Levels. ✔️ •Character Classes or a Job System.✔️ •Skill Scores and Perks.✔️ •Equippable abilities.✔️ •Evolving Attacks. X •Equipment-Based Progression.✔️ •Standard Status Effects and Status Buffs.✔️ •Karma Meter and accompanying moral choices.X Those elements however are just that that. Elements don't make an RPG they're just usually a part of it. Player choice, leading the narrative according to your own morality and whims, that makes an RPG game
