We have no idea what the traveler is up to at the moment, you'd think after being almost dead for a couple hundred years it would be a little more excited to start doing stuff again I remember hearing a theory that the traveler sent out a new batch of Ghosts after it reawakened, but I don't remember ever seeing anything confirming this Right now I imagine the traveler is just waiting for the Darkness to arrive, charging up it's power so that the next time the ships arrive she/he/it will be ready for round 2

  • It knows we are it’s only hope. I don’t think it will do anything. I have a suspicion that using its Light breaks the Shell. It’s assumed more were made since post Red War there were a ton of revivals. Although it’s hard to say. There were Ghost without Guardians and some stopped looking to work for the Speaker. I’m sure those Ghosts found Guardians amongst the dead. I just can’t recall how many Guardians there are now. I know it was mentioned somewhere but the number I’m thinking seems too high. It’s going to end in another Collapse. The Vision cutscene shows humanity suffering underwater, after the black pyramids fall into water. Notably, these ships are all the same size. The big mothership is missing. I’m not sure what the water represents. Could be the Vex, a liquid race. Could be Titan, a liquid surface with a secret hidden underneath. Could be an Earth ocean. The Traveler being on Io for the final Showdown. You can see one larger pyramid shadow then the other. Meaning the mothership is coming. Sometime between now and then, the Traveler heals itself. The major beats are Nessus being consumed, beating the small Ships, Humanity suffers, a whole Traveler faces down the Darkness. The Shell is absolutely studded with power crystals. To replace all that at that scale? Would take...millions. Like the population of the City. I foresee a major twist.

  • I think it represents humanity “Drowning in the Deep” as Xol said we would. And the part about Io is from the initial Collapse; The Traveler was terraforming Io when the Darkness arrived, so it had to abandon Io in the middle of the process. It was originally going to be an ocean world, judging by the skeletons and other things you can see around Echo Mesa.

  • Could be another Collapse, yeah. Losing the City, which would explain why it leaves Earth for Io. The Vision is about the future but playing backwards chronologically. The first scene is the last scene. During the Collapse it didn’t face off against them on Io either. You can also tell with Nessus. The last scene shows the planet halfway swallowed. We aren’t there yet. It left Io and went to Earth before the invasion alert went out. Then to Mercury to stop the Vex sometime during the Collapse, then back to Earth. That’s the only known activity during the Collapse anyway.
