How can we ever aim to be excited ever again, when things like roadmaps and seasons even exist?
Gone are the days of being excited to see what bungie do to to surprise us.
Now, literally everything is advertised to us ahead of time to maximise profits.

No, the community didnt. The community isnt one united voice. A select subsection may have requested that, but the broader community appreciated the element of discovery. Thats why we had posts asking to remove 3 of coins. Stop revealing too much on streams. Stop dropping hints. And thats why d1 had that air of mystery surround it. It was like, anything could happen. Nowadays, we know months in advance of everything. Regardless who requested it, i feel its a shame. The thing with bungie is, they have no idea of middle ground. Either things are incredibly trivial to get, or long and convulted.
