Yes, only specific ammunition can kill a Ghost. During the dark age Guardians would make these bullets to permanently kill other Guardians
The Rifleman can into position of one by unknown means and used it to kill Cayde.
Is that what Fellwinter used on that warlord? Cause I never came across the mentioning of such a special bullet in that story. I don’t turn every lore sentence on its head and backwards to shake out some sense, mind you.
Honestly it was more recent addition to the lore, introduced primarily in forsaken and season of the drifter
So I guess felwinter killed that warlord with anti Ghost ammo, a bit of a retcon but definitely not a bad one
I went through Ada’s story a bit and apparently she could take out ghosts as well. The black armour papers talked about some vague phase transition to make their weapons more deadly and the obsidian accelerator that Ada ends up plugging into her head in a cut scene. That scene must have been bugged for me, pretty sure I would have remembered. So is the accelerator supposed to be the origin of the devour bullet or is there another story to it?
I can see the dilemma. Guardians are supposed to be these near immortal warriors and you hit the super trivial snag of just taking out the ghost first.
Not exactly as far as I know. But a scorn rifle is not able to kill a ghost. That much is true.
However a devourer bullet can destroy the light and is what the scorn used to kill cayde’s ghost
Actually you're right and wrong, there is a specific type of ammunition designed by Guardians during the dark age with the sole purpose of killing Ghosts
Anything can kill us as long as it shoots the ghost before it revives us. The ghost is our lifeline which is also why it stays hidden unless we call it out or are in darkness and need a flashlight
