Firstly it eliminates any choice in the order you do your activities if you want to actually be rewarded, as increases are based on your average power level it's pointless doing any +1 PL activities before doing the +5 ones.
How is +1 pointless, you are progressing you're just progressing slower. Your choice has not been taken away, your just choosing to stay away from the activities necessary, because you don't like them as much. False argument.
If one of your clan-mates jumps on and wants to hit up strikes, tough luck if you haven't cleared the nightfall/dreaming city yet, you either lose out on power or tell them to find someone else.

You can't skip content, we all have to play it to progress.

Secondly it HEAVILY penalizes you if you end up having a large amount of equipment clustered around your average power, with one low item bringing that average down. You can no longer take advantage of any of the +1 power activities unless you first boost that one low piece of gear. This can lead to players falling far behind their peers based purely on the distribution of their drops rather than the effort they put in. For example if my gear is all 522+ and I have a pair of boots at around 215 dragging the average down to 521, all of my +1 gear will drop at 522 making it useless unless I luck out and find a pair of boots.
I might be wrong, but I think this is not how progression works... Powerful gear should drop above your highest possible light level, not the average of your inventoried gear... If it does, stop complaining and just delete the gear, problem solved.

Thirdly and the biggest issue is players have wasted effort particularly this week, because none of the power level increases are explained anywhere in game. The entire system is left ambiguous with all the rewards being listed identically as "powerful engrams". Bungie needs to show the difference in game between activities that will reward +5 power and +1 power, rather than expecting us to trawl through their twitter feed, blog posts and youtube creators analysis to find the answer.
Or you know, play the game, pay attention and learn what does what. Do you need to be spoonfed? You can also ask your clan-mates or find a more experienced clan, The whole point of the drops being random is to keep tryhards from burning through the content too fast.
As the title says the new progression system could do with a revisit,
Nope. It's fine the way it is. Infusion could do with a look but progression is fine.

작성자: Maskerader 9/13/2018 8:06:59 PM
How is +1 pointless
This is how: - let's say you have 525 PL and the +5 drop moves your PL up one point to 526, - then you will have one 530 item and a bunch of 527 items. - Let's say you decided to do +1 drops first, - then you'll have a bunch of 526 items (many of them will do nothing to your PL because they'll be below the PL of the gear you already have) and one item of 530 or 531. Which one is better?
I might be wrong, but I think this is not how progression works... Powerful gear should drop above your highest possible light level, not the average of your inventoried gear... If it does, stop complaining and just delete the gear, problem solved.
Your base power level (the one which the game uses to calculate drop levels) is not the average of all your gear, it's the average of all your best gear for each slot. He's talking about the situation when you have 7 slots of 522 and one slot of 512, your base power level is 521, and all your +1 drops are useless (521 + 1 = 522) unless they drop for that one last 512 slot.

작성자: Speaker 9/14/2018 1:13:32 PMWith random rolls, now, your argument is shot to shit. You could find a better roll of the same weapon or gear piece. You are literally complaining about not going fast enough because you don't like a certain activity, at that point. Not feedback, just bitching. Also you literally just repeated what I said about gear drops scaling to highest possible light level overall. With prime engrams you have an opportunity to gain even more. Progression is fine, and your little formula doesn't prove anything other than you aren't progressing faster. At that point you're whining about the time commitment and the fact that you can't rush to 600 like a freight train. There is a ton to do, and milestones aren't the only way to progress. EDIT: Same crowd that made D2 vanilla a boring casual poopshow

작성자: Maskerader 9/14/2018 11:49:12 PMhow about you read the OP instead of reducing it all to only one argument you're able to argue against? his points are: - progression is too random-based - the +5 and +1 drops make you play all the activities in the certain order and also makes playing with your friends penalising for your progression if you and your friends don't sinc - game doesn't do anything to explain how any of its things work btw, calling people bitching and trolls just because they disagree with you is really productive, lol. not that I expected any productive discussion anyway given your attitude and prejudgement
